While this was amusing it triggered a memory from something Deon said. There is a news story from the late 80's or early 90's - honestly can't recall the year - where a black woman was let go from her company because of how she styled her hair. She sued for wrongful termination and won. Can't remember what all she won but it included back pay.
Don't need to go to 90s to find examples of black woman fired for wearing natural hair styles plenty example every year.
Why do you think black women started wearing wigs. White people hate it when black people love their own hair. What is it about black hair that frightens them .
Then of course they have been teachers who have cut black kids hair. The abuse black people go through at white hands even to day is evil and criminal.
@@helenpeters2116 Yeah, I don't doubt it. I referenced that because it's the only story that I was aware of this happening. I'm not at all surprised to know it's still happening. It's just so disappointing, to say the least.
In 2018 an appeals court ruled that employers could discriminate against hairstylists because it is considered part of dress code and not race. But really, when have we ever heard of a white person being fired or denied employment based on their hairstyle?
This happened to me because my natural hair is really thick. I wasn't fired, but harrassed. The person who harrassed me ended up with diarrhea everytime they drank coffee at the office & couldn't figure out why..mess with a vindictive person for no reason, end up with diarrhea..I'm here to do a job, not be harrassed about a trivial matter. Enjoy sitting on that toilet. What did you say? You can't find the tissue? Oh because I hid that too so you'd have to hop around looking for it & get that diarrhea juice on your clothes. Now go home & change, doo doo butt..😂😂😂😂😂😂😃😃😃😃

Do not forget that Anglo Whites were killing Hispanic people as well. Do remember that before the migration to the west, many Hispanic people built this country as well. Hispanic is not only brown it is also Black, and White, and Asian. How do Indigenous or mestizo Hispanics “blend in”? White Hispanics can. Can Muslim Hispanics blend in? When, as you say slaves were brought out the boats there were not enemy #1 in Spanish territory. In fact they are #2. Enemy #1 were the “savage” indigenous. Half the country was Spain. The race dynamics of those territories were changed when the Anglo Whites arrived. The Spanish made SURE that the indigenous were less off than ANYONE. The Black people were horribly set apart as well and the indigenous were always lower.

Heard a guy on the radio say how the college admissions scandal was "the most disgusting thing he's ever seen in his entire life". And I'm just thinking: Really, bruh?! REALLY!? In your ENTIRE life!?! I think the only thing that was "shocking" or "disgusting" about this whole situation.....is how so many people are PRETENDING to be shocked or disgusted.
How about when Universities falsify records for "student athletes" who don't go to class?
My old roommate was the leading running back in the nation, didn't go to class once and got a bachelor's in business.
After he failed to make a career out of football, he lived with me and I had to teach him how to use MS Word so he could write a resume.

Universities use people like my old roommate for their financial gain. Schools are giving away degrees from “prestigious” schools that were not actually earned (much like this scandal) which will be used to get jobs they have no idea how to do, further dumbing down our society in America. As long as we continue to be entertained it seems this will never be addressed.
Hell no they’ve been doing this and much more since the beginning of time.

I’ve been waiting on the deon episode of the podcast. I know it’s going to happen eventually. These 2 have good chemistry, I love them together. And working for Conan for so many years I know they have some stories to tell.
And it goes to show how good of a guy Conan must be because deon doesn’t have to come back and so these spots on his show but he does for the love.

Omg I love deon cole! I had the luck of being in the audience during the taping of him on the late show with Stephen Colbert. Out of all the guest that night he was the funniest!! The didn’t air all of it and I feel bad bc people didn’t get to see all of it. It was sooo funny so I can’t imagine what we are missing during these sketches.

I have been watching Conan since the 90's. Still funny.
My cousin and I went to a Late Night taping back in '03 and during the taping we both realized, separately, that Conan kept staring at us during the breaks. When we talked about it afterwards we realized it was probably because we were the only black people in the audience. We thought maybe he was excited that he'd finally achieved crossover appeal, lol!
