finally!!! I couldn't run Forza Motorsport due to: "failed to create d3d12" on Win 11 I couldn't find a solution on reddit or other forums, but this update to the latest dx12 version fixed it for me! also didnt had to reinstall rEFIND for dualboot so i just skipped it (had blue screen when turning on but it just worked after few sec.) Thank you very much!! FYI need to dowload the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 24.7.1 Driver for Windows® 10 & Windows® 11 64-bit not the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 24.7.1 Driver Including Vega and Polaris Series Graphics Support for Windows® 10 & Windows® 11 64-bit
@@GamingDJ4u Thank you, you are an angel, I searched a lot on the forums, Reddit, in the Forza community, no one helped, you are an angel, you saved my life
I can only install the AMD driver for graphics. The software won't install because an error message is thrown to me saying it's incompatible with the hardware. Such a bummer. I've tried older software installers too.
@@GamingDJ4u I downloaded this version and it's still saying that it is not compatible with my hardware. Doing that other method, using 7zip, which would be the install file to choose (I remember that in previous versions I selected the Cccinstall_setup.exe
This adrenaline version works for me with windows apu driver that was released on 15th august 2024 . Not sure why it didn't work for you . Please delete the AMD folder in C:\ driver first and try again : www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/release-notes/RN-RAD-WIN-24-7-1.html
delete the AMD folder in C:\ drive , then run the AMD Adrenaline v24.7.1 exe file , it will automatically extract its AMD folder in C:\ drive . Make sure you downloaded the correct file from AMD's website . Link named : AMD Software Adrenalin Edition 24.7.1 Driver for Windows 10 & Windows 11 64-bit
Done the comparison already, some games run better on windows while some on steam os. On steam deck windows, can't go higher than 4gb uma buffer size, big limitation for AAA games that consume around 5-6gb vram. th-cam.com/video/FPuI-1s5HLQ/w-d-xo.html&si=kDMOZVKDwjUrImZ4
Refind keeps often bugs out after an APU or BIOS update. I'm not a fan of it, fixing it is easy though. I dual booted bazzite and windows on my rog ally and didn't use refind, GRUB and ally's own boot menu work just fine even after bios and gpu driver updates.
Refind boot manager is optional, it has nothing to do with this windows apu driver update. People use different boot managers to boot into any of their installed operating systems.
@@GamingDJ4u , damn, then i think i messed up, there is no audio for me from SD speaker. I will try to reinstall the drivers. Is there any software to do a clean removal of drivers?
@@GamingDJ4u in the previous driver when you move the slider the brightness not match with the slider, there is a delay so i need move the slider back and forth to get the maximum brightness, it so annoying
Hi, refind should already be installed on your deck. If the problem persists, better to just update refind again. I've shared deck wizard's guide in the description.
When I install the APU drivers etc I restart and get a blue screen of death and i can't do anything except recovery mode and then uninstall the file again to make it work. What can I be doing wrong, does having windows on an SD card influence it
Not recommended to install Windows on SD Card but are you sure its windows that's gone corrupt? In my case , the blue screen was caused by refind bootloader going corrupt due to the removal of the current gpu driver. Directly booted into windows via boot manager as shown in the video. Windows was completely fine . You should try that to see if your windows partition is still working. Apu driver is compatible with both variants of steam deck so windows shouldn't be getting corrupted by the new driver.
@@GamingDJ4u I tried this with the same result, the location is slightly different as it's on an SD and the steam os is separate. I'm wondering if there's a conflict between the partitions and the drivers. Pre existing drivers on the steam deck 🤔
Thank You so much for this fix! 🥰🙏

My Steam Deck won't boot into Steam OS even with Boot manager after this update.
Done installing ❤
Lcd and oled apu are the same thing, they are the same graphics card I did some research on it
Lets see
Yeah I can't get back to windows, the screen is all messed up, I will have to reinstall my whole windows now
It was just refind boot manager that got corrupt , windows partition was fine , you can try booting this way to check windows 02:26
Didn't work had to reinstall, but for some reactivity now won't let me install on steam deck, mine is oled so yeah, guess it doesn't work
My AMD folder doesnt have that options…
Amd settings doesnt appear, Im out of options

isnt the steam deck tools works like the adrenaline?
Adrenaline has more settings, anti lag / global vsync / Display color calibration etc
Bro, if we install this APU driver and adrenaline software on steam deck lcd, will the audio work ?
@varghesejohn8341 yes audio works fine via the speakers. Tested some games as well :

Why the fuck is he talking about steamos with WINDOWS drivers?
Only work for dual boot?

Is brightness slider work normal on this driver now ?, because there is a bug on the previous driver

Gta 5? It's an old game now, steam deck can handle it just fine. Make sure you set the uma buffer size to 4gb from bios. Required for windows.
No audio driver yet :(
Yeah speakers only work deck lcd at the moment
If you had sound to work before, do a system restoration until the date the sound worked and do not update that drive again.
Is that really working on lcd?
