    Absolutely savage advice in a very palatable time-frame. I did hours of job seeking research before getting my last job, this neatly ties everything I learned in five minutes. Great starting point

    A secret technique to ace an interview and always get the job: find who is the boss and become friend with the boss months before you apply for the job. You can meet them at a meetup event and starts building sincere friendly relationship where you just want to learn from them, like an appreantice seeking a mentor type of relationship.

    Great video, great tips! My 2cents on asking questions - 1. ask questions that give some insight into your motivations for the role. 2. Ask questions that show your business acumen. 3. Ask questions that show you’ve done your research

    I just follow some of these steps for my group interview... landed the second job interview.. now I'm on to do research of the skills they are looking for and the story-liners I will say to let them know I am a good fit. Honestly they even said to me things like "most people are not as prepared as you are" and "that is an excellent question" which like Tori mentions it does show you're actually interested and prepared.

    That is exactly what happened to me when I shared my salary requirements first. I was offered 15k lower than what I asked for. But after a year, developing all this domain knowledge, without a backup I ll leave the company as soon as i get an offer. They will lose time and money because they are stupid. On the other hand i am using company’s reputation to get more and more interviews!

      If you get a candidate for a bargain 15k less then it’s a really good opportunity to fast track promotions and motivate your staff with rewarding good performance. Sounds like they will be missing out!

      This is the _opposite_ of what she said. If your request was $15K less than their budget, then it would be the same. You just settled for their offer, or were asking too much and came down to reality
      Which you're right in one way, in time you may get what you were asking for from someone else because you're getting more experience

      @@PaperRaines i am in IT so there is no shortage in money supply :) I checked open source what they paid a year before pandemic, found out that they paid 20% more than what i asked for. This is a highly reputable company in the finance industry and people at key roles started leaving so they are discussing about one time bonuses, salary adjustments etc.. so instead of treating the people right way in the first place they decided to go cheap and this resulted with high turn over rate at key roles. This is the opposite of a visionary company.

      @@Sece1 I don't know what that company losing employees as you said has to do with the offer they gave you, and you accepted. I work in IT too, I know there's plenty of money and jobs, but they're not all available to anyone who'd apply. Going on what you typed here it is not the situation described in the video. What you typed is you asked for too much, which is self-evident because you accepted the position
      What she described would be relevant in your case if what you asked for was below what they wanted to offer, and you said your number first and got stuck with it. If what you asked for was less than what you researched online that's not relevant, companies change their operations and budgets all of the time.
      If that hiring manager heard your number and came $15K below that, either you're over-qualified for the role you accepted, but you accepted it, or your under-qualified for the role you wanted and accepted a role better suited for your skills at the time of that interview

      @@Sece1 and to add one thing, when a company wants you they will not lose a quality candidate over money. Most of my tech jobs? They started me higher than what I asked for. And the further I've gotten in my career the higher they've started me. That's just my experience, which falls in line with what I've been hearing about the industry's hiring practices for years

    I just go in and state that I am qualified, yet coachable with a deep desire to learn and improve. I provide my salary requirements based on market value with predetermined increases based on performance. Then, I tell them to provide all the phone numbers to the other candidates so I can personally call them and let them know that the position was filled. True story that worked (during an economic downturn) and received an offer letter before I arrived home!

    Got to say some keen advice is in this video snippet but the individual itself does not "exemplifies" HARVARD BUSINESS. A baggy-pink sweatshirt, hair not done, not presentable and sitting on a couch in what looks like her apartment and not in office or clean environment!!
