    I love my Canik Elite Combat. It’s in my appendix holster on me every day. I sure would love to also have a Walther PDP. But another good one in the Canik line is the Mete SFX Pro. All 3 great guns!

    I have the Walther PDP and put thousands and thousands of rounds through it so far and I love it. Trust my life with it and it’s fun to shoot even though it’s a little snappy. The grip texture and stippling is by far the best out of the box. Even if my hands are sweaty I really don’t have to adjust my grip.

    There are aftermarket options for the Canik that allow you to put a plate under the optic that has rear irons attached that you can co-witness with the optic.
    That being said, the fact that an optic deletes the factory sight seems like a massive oversight.

    First and foremost… great review on both firearms. I lost my shit when I seen these two side by side. The TP9 Elite Combat was of my very first purchase after acquiring my firearms ID. I remember watching your review on it back then (that was also a great video). The TP9 EC quickly became and remained my favorite out of my collection. However, I did recently purchase the PDP pro compact. I gotta say after swapping out the guide rod and mounting the Steiner MPS, I can’t put the damn thing down… it’s incredible. Both are a fantastic pieces and I’ll recommend both with great confidence. I will say the PDP Pro compact feels absolutely amazing in hand and that trigger is the best factory trigger on the market at the moment. Once again thank you for the review.

  • @milsurprifles
    @milsurprifles ปีที่แล้ว +15

    I have both of these. The Walther feels better in hand to me, but overall,I actually prefer the Canik.
    And just to throw this out there…I put an optic on my Canik and shot it the same day I bought it.
    My PDP took a MONTH to receive a plate shipped from Walther. So I didn’t get to shoot my new gun with the optic installed for a month after purchase. You have to register with Walther and then wait for your registration email to be processed, then the order gets processed, then they finally ship it. It was terribly annoying.
    Canik provides the entire plate system with every pistol.
    In fact, I was so put out with Walther that it stained my perception of the pistol, and now I get mad when I look at it. Lol. I’m sure I’ll get over it.
    Not having a plates included (at least for rmr/docter) is silly. At least stock your dealers with plates so you can get one at purchase. Of course you could also buy aftermarket if you don’t mind spending the extra $75-$125 dollars.
    That’s all. Both fantastic pistols, couldn’t go wrong with either. Canik is a better value for what you get and they take care of the customer by including more with the pistol (mounting plates!). The trigger is also, to me, noticeably better.
    The Walther is a nicer shooting experience because of the ergos… the grip and slide serrations are so good.

      Well, the reason is mainly that canik barrels have traditional grooves, but walther barrels are polygonal. Awesome video - very informative. I'm just getting into guns and was looking at picking up something for home defense. I've been comparing these two exact pistols for the last few days, so your video couldn't have come at a better time. I was leaning towards the Canik because I'd heard a few people comment that the Walther was a little snappy - but you seem to think that the guns shoot very similarly. As someone that's just starting to shoot, a snappy gun had me concerned - thinking that it might be uncomfortable to shoot for a beginner. All things being equal, I'd prefer to get the Walther - but would take the Canik if it does indeed have less recoil. Any thoughts on this?
    Thanks!

    • @HuntFishShootChannel
      @HuntFishShootChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Right the Canik isn’t any less recoiling and in fact the better grip textures of the Walther and better grip design helps the Walther or shooter in managing recoil.

      @HuntFishShootChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish I could show you some slow motion footage of the recoil, maybe we can chop some up into short and you will see they are the same or negligibly different. The Walther feels better under recoil due tot he grip textures I feel and picking up the dot under recoil is easier for the Walther in my opinion. You need to remember some of that is subjective to the individual shooter too.

    I also own a 2018 TP9 SFx, and what's fun is swapping slides between the TP9 and the PDP...so, if you have a TP9 frame but want a more modern optics mounting system, and the ability to use Glock sights, and the world's best slide serrations, you could just pick up a PDP slide. :)
