Many people think Styrofoam - or polystyrene foam - can't be recycled. It can, but because the product is mostly air, it's hard to do it profitably. One company in Mexico City figured out how.

This video was very helpful, thank you! I'm glad to hear that there are business that are doing something with the polystyrene foam that has already been created. I do believe that eliminating it is the best option.
By boiling the styrofoam you obtain totally pure styrene and then polymerize it again, so it can very well be recycled.
Good, because it's a cool material in my opinion.
Thanks 👍🇺🇲🇲🇽 We need this in America too 😊
I like the recycling of styrofoam including no single use options and the desire to put it back into the market that makes them. I feel like if the companies who make them were forced to also recycle them like this that would be the greatest impact
It is not the fault of the companies who make them, it is how you get them back to be recycled. In my country we found out that recycling bins usually end up in the same landfill that the green bins' garbage!
If the companies had used Styrofoam transfered to them by the municipalities they would probably re-use it.
polystyrene baseball bats, skateboard decks, athletic padding, etc
no one going to talk about how they need a forklift to carry the lightest material in the world?
You won't get paid enough if the work looks too easy bro
They need a forklift because the pallet itself is heavy.
Amazing video. Thanks for sharing
I just watched video about the recycling program in New Jersey it was from 4 years ago I hope it is still in operation. It mentioned the picture frames and moulding as well and I was thinking about I wonder if you could make wall art like butterflies, or flowers or maybe a shelf or a framed mirror?
From the post-recycled pellet form, I’d imagine you could theoretically make anything with the right molds/equipment. 👍 The pellets are heated and molded to shape.
do you have the articles that you relied on making this video? Could you share with it please?
Excellent business model and good for the planet
For frames? ... What a waste. Back into foam for noise oisolation would be more usefull ... and would finaly make it affordable.
People who think that styrofoam cannot be recycled are actually correct, they’re just not finished with their statement. “Styrofoam/EPS cannot be recycled profitably.”
Which is why no one recycles it. Duh. It’s all about money and profits.
What is the purpose
of what exactly?
Why are we? 🤔
Let's just get who created it and take it away from earth, far away.
Put it in acetone
Free Polystyrene

Quite pitiful, can't do anything without being told you'd get money.
Pls give me this company contracts
