As a player that started yugioh with MD i've survived everything this game has been throwing at me, Eldlich with IO legal, Drytron/Disco ball, VFD, Scythe lock/DPE, Tear 0 and now Trap decks turbo. I still really like the game and have fun playing it, almost seems like a miracle.

@@blastmole299They did with Tear, though it is arguably still "full powered" despite the limits. In fact, I think it was a lot more powerful limited. Now, it's no longer Tear 0 but still a tier 1 deck.

I love how Master Duel bans Silva so Dark World can’t hand loop you, but are fine with Lab ripping 2 cards from your hand with Lady while going plus 5. Not even including the EEV rips.

When was the last time a trap based deck actually good is the answer to that question.
This also ignores how obnoxious other decks are with 5+ minute damn turns doing bullshit and this has the kindness of not taking said 5 minutes and you understand what the fuck is happening in front of you.

Whenever MBT said "how do people play this game" I thought he was talking about MD, but a lot of those hands were fully legal in the TCG like a month ago so I think the problem might just be Yugioh...
The thing about cardboard is you have a side deck to stop this type of thing.
Bo1 and Bo3 are almost completely different in how the game is played.
True. It is actually even worse in the tcg. In bo1 you lose against a lame deck and are done. In bo3 you have to play against the same deck two more times.

Playing Lab in the event has made me realize that the literal only reason it plays floodgates is Ash blossom. If ash didnt exist IKEA lab would be more than powerful enough to not play any floodgates besides the normal trap ones.
The loaner one would be unplayable against ash
I hope when DUNE drops that MBT gives us an Unchained Ten Minute Testing. With the new support, it seems like it could either be really good as it’s own deck or be a nice engine for a Fiend specific deck like Labyrinth and I’d like to know MBT’s verdict on it.
Also, EEV is absolutely not long for Master Duel or the TCG.
Unfortunately, EEV is still legal.

Master Duel was my first time playing Yu-gi-oh! Basically ever and I started with Laby cause it was on one of the featured sets at the time, turned out "You've activated my trap card" turbo was a really good introduction to the game.
Labrynth is such a funny little deck because you play control until a billion effects all trigger at once and your board is full of maids and Lady.

Konami really ran 4 unsummonable monsters in the Labrynth ED for the event- wtf
For those who don't know, the monsters mentioned are the link 2 and link 3 Unchained Soul monsters. Both require at least 2 effect monsters, including at least 1 Unchained Soul. There are no Souls in the main deck, and the only other Unchained card is Unchained Abomination (link 4, not an Unchained Soul). So... how are we supposed to use those?
Luckily, Konami did give the Labrynth deck access to the Knightmares Cerberus, Phoenix, and Unicorn.
All I'm saying is, I hope every Lab player who activates Lovely on turn 1 pops a Tear monster out of their opponent's hand.

I have to admit lab has to be thr most ridiculous boards. I currently am doing a double crush card virus combo. Where i use the og Crush card virus and the epidemic virus. I use them both in the draw phase of my opponent and see how he will lose his entire hand and field. Repeating that is the most toyix thing ever

@@1001011011010 I actually find it to be f2p friendly too, because I haven't spent a cent on it. I don't try and keep up with the meta though, and I think they could still demote a lot of URs and SRs to Rs and Ns while still sucking the whales dry.
Hell, a more generous rarity spread could potentially boost the game's income by increasing the playerbase engagement. I'd probably play more if I could afford to build a new deck more frequently.

I used this card in my branded so much when runick came out (they don't hugin if you can attack over it). I've defended this card so many times to people that said it was trash or not enough that it's so funny to see it finally be abused

That goofed up Labrynth combo hurt to watch. Playing YuGiOh for years has taken its on this man if learning to play freaking Labrynth makes Joseph's head spin as much as everyone's heads when they try learning to play Virtual World or D/D/D.
I just finished the Fairy/Fiend festival. I just surrendered when I saw a Labyrinth player. Because you basically couldn't stop them because they go plus 5 as well as play on your turn. They have too much interaction and is basically Sky Strikers all over again but with traps.
I would rather play against literally anything than Labyrinth. It's just solitaire the deck style. It's almost as bad as those players that spend 10 minutes playing 30 cards to whiff exodia and then surrender before your first turn starts. And the only reason it's worse, is I can actually beat the Exodia whiff if they don't surrender immediately after wasting everyones time. Lab is toxic trash that walks through 5 negates, and then burns your hand just in case, while playing 5 effects in your stand by phase, so you can't even activate Triple Tactics when they use 5 monster effects on your turn.
@@HunterX57 Konami is back at it again with stupid deck concepts that break the game. They need a team that just reads card and card effects to balance decks. I play D/D's and literally every card is a HOPT. While the meta decks don't have that.

Labrynth is so much fun. But why only one of the field spell? It is just too good.
Big welcome bounces things on its own and so the destruction effect of labrynth labyrinth is not as necessary. Big welcome can also special summon from graveyard making Lab lab even less useful.
@@Joe-fi7il that does make sense. I still find it to be more useful. But there have also been many times where I only won because I had that field spell and just a cimpuls or something on the field. So I am a but biased.
Labrynth is fair and balanced and very fun to play against.
Even know I single handedly destroyed every single Labrynth deck with Evil Eye in the event. I dont want to ever see it again! I got my gems, now ill wait till Ninjas hit MD. In the meantime....fawk MD!

This fairy fiend event has been miserable. I tried building hehe funny decks but legitimately its been so boring bc everyone is on Labyrynth. Had to go to fluffal loaner bc my cardpool wasn’t competent enough to build it myself
This event is so bad. Might be the worst one they’ve ever done. No ash blossom or maxx c to kill off Lab. every other loaner is ass. There is basically no mono fairy or fiend decks competent enough to stand a chance against lab but time lords, and that deck requires you to craft 12 UR’s
Yeah, probably the worst event just due to Labyrinth alone without any sort of restrictions. Outside of that deck, it’s an alright event as it gives me a chance to try a modified Dark World deck as I still gather parts to run a more optimal version

This is a good example of why I like Traptrix more than Labyrinth when it comes to trap decks. Labyrinth is definitely the stronger deck, but of the two Traptrix is definitely more fun to play against. No floodgates and cards that are easier to outplay makes Traptrix feel more manageable. They're a trap deck so there's still plenty of games where they just say 'no you cant play' but there's also plenty of games where they aren't invincible and you either crush them or have a good back and forth until someone comes out on top.
Traptrix has builds where they play Anti-Spell for obvious reasons, but I do agree that it's the better designed deck considering it works within a reasonable design limitation (namely the Hole Trap cards)
Labrynth is frustrating because if a bullshit Normal Trap card exists, they'll pretty much be the core abuser, and as much as I think removing every conceivable Trap floodgate to be the better ending, it's also probably not the realistic one
Traptrix can easily maindeck Gozen and Anti-Spell as neither hurts them in any way.

the reason why traptrix is more fair is cause its 10 years old+ support and is a budget deck in tcg while labrynth cost 500€+. so in komoney eyes yes it has to be worse.
I'm having a lot of fun playing Labrynth. It can annoying but I'm getting a lot of tear again in higher ranks now.. Barely saw them at all for a while but everyone went back to it to counter Lovely and EEV..
I'd be happy if I just never saw them again though. I'd rather start with 2 or 3 cards instead of play against tears..
As an Ikea Laby I hope each and every one of the Tearlament, Branded, and Spright players I've made suffer realize they did this to themselves. Not so fun being the one unable to play the game, is it?

As a cydra players I absolutely hate this deck. They rip of my spell, I can seems to get rid of their backrow even with chimera and evenly because they somehow find a way to fill their board again.

Is pure Traptrix good now?
Is very playable, at least this format. All monsters are earth so Bystials are not an issue, the extra deck monsters are immune to trap effects, and thanks to the link three is possible to OTK.

the problem with yugioh is the lack of formats. after learning MTG and playing for nearly a year, Yugioh is basically Historic mode in MTG. The Standard format in MTG needs to be replicated in Yugioh. Limiting the pool of cards is Needed after a certain point in card games for balance. it is just how it works.
Ah. I see now why MBT defended Tear Zero format. He just really enjoys his opponents not having fun.
