    Congratulations for your dream home project. It indeed turning out to be a beautiful architectural work piece. The earth Wall and lintel are the show stopper.

    Looking good! The blocks above the window opening are amazing. Never would think that would work, it's so skinny and spanning so much distance. Gravity defying.

    Geoff. Middleton would be delighted, although he had a penchant for domes and arches.

    This is a massive house. Full moon? Don't look at it or else you might howl. I will keep watching and following your progress

      Thank you Bro! ask any questions here. If you are in the area and want to get on the end of a shovel and Dance with Daisey more than welcome. Jens Jacobsen runs courses, you gotta get a bit of hands on experience before you build your house. And if you look at previous vids I built 2 Dongas before the house learning on that was very valuable. Different form work ideas have a look at the first wall on the first donga and you will see. th-cam.com/video/AdBOzTSKJCw/w-d-xo.html

    Hey Millsy it's Millsy here 🙂 so glad I have come across your videos. I have a property in the South West myself and am dead keen to build a rammed earth home on it. Your project looks awesome and very similar to what I had in mind. I would really like to learn how to do this myself but have been unable to find anyone local willing to show me. Looks like you are pretty close to finishing but any chance you would like some help? 🙂

      Hey Millsy happy to help if I can. Not sure if Jens Jacobsen is still running courses would highly recommend that check facebook for Rammed Earth Australia. I was thinking of running a bit of a course myself. What are you like on the shovel and where are you?

      @@offthegriddownunderaustral8814 Yeh have emailed/pm'd Jens Jacobson a couple of times but no luck! maybe not running the courses any more. I have 103 acres in Quinninup about 30kms out of Manjimup and I am not bad on the shovel 😁 Would be keen to come learn a thing or two. I have watched most of your videos and am impressed by how far you have come.

    Nice work Millsey. I'm curious what part of the south west you are in? Give me a clue - what is the nearest town? My guess about the lentils: You used a gravity pump?

    • @offthegriddownunderaustral8814
      @offthegriddownunderaustral8814  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Bro not sure what a gravity pump is it was all shoveled into the forms. Think of the 7th largest Gold mine in the world and you got me. There are about 10 rammed earth places in the area so I am not alone. thinking of setting up a tour.

    Nicely done. Question, have you experienced any shrinkage in your walls at the joints or experienced any cracking as it cured?

    • @offthegriddownunderaustral8814
      @offthegriddownunderaustral8814  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Bro! for your question. I never rammed a new wall up against a wet wall, I let it cure for several days before joining a new wall. With shrinkage there is very little if any at all, I think it might be because of Daisey (Tampa) she rams it down pretty hard. I have seen a guy in the US who was hand tamping and he has big gaps between walls. when mine are fully rammed they are like stone no shrinkage and if you brace them well they don't move at all.

    Are you capping the walls with a concrete reinforced lintel?
