I went to every Mayfair Rez except no 10, when some fucker kicked the side doors in and stopped the rest of the queue, some 100+ people, from getting in coz then the door staff shut the doors on the police's advice, even though we all had tickets. I went back home to party with some lass who I was stood with in the queue that night and some twenty three years later I'm still with her and proud to call her my wife. The Ingleston all-nighters and all subsequent Rez's were nothing in comparison to the original ones at the Mayfair and the Babylon Bashers were always in full effect. Those Thursday nights were the happiest days of our lives and we fucking knew it. I cannot believe it's more years than the actual age I was at the time that have passed since those raves. There will be thousands of people just like me around this land who had their own Rez's in their own part of town and who will know what it's like to be really 'on it' like we were back then. I salute you all. X

I remember queuing for ages to get into shades of rhythm and me mate dropped his gary ablett in the line. we didn't get in and went back to the pub in Ryton, and he goes, " don't tell anyone i had my pill" an hour later he was bouncing off the walls!!! happiest days of my life. Hands down
Remember seeing the prodigy, Keith coming on stage off his nut and in a straight jacket, fuck i was recked by the end. amazing night which i still remember well after all these years. After that, started with judgement days at the students uni, then off to scotland for more Rez's. Brilliant times, wish i could go back.

I'm a taxi driver and just this week I had an old lady in her 60s telling me she used to work at the Mayfair back in the day. She was saying I could write a book on some of the things I saw. She mentioned a night when loads of coaches came down from Scotland and they wouldn't let them in because it was full and the police were stopping them all getting in. Lots of pissed of jocks. Someone kicked open the fire doors and coaches full all got in round the back.
@Paul Goicoechea They were and quite a fit girl who used to be on Byker Grove with them. Was a really weird night that, it was the end of the really good Rez like they had been before.....atmosphere gradually got less and less friendly....and then they went to Livingston.
I saw Man Paris do his set then went straight onto the dancefloor , I just thought that was a true raver, he was a good dancer. If I hadn't seen him on the deck's I'd never have known he was nothing more but a regular raver. Not being racist but you didn't see many black people at rezzerections. He was unmistakable with his long platted hair, 6ft plus.Rezzerection at inglestone about 90 or 91
