      270k here on my 05 TRD 4x4 Crew Cab. Water pump/timing belt/ front end suspension rebuild, new radiator, new AC compressor/condenser and fan clutch (last week) but otherwise it's rolling strong. I really want to get at least 350-400k on this thing before I even think of getting a new truck.

    That gen of tundra had frame rot issues and clear coat issues. Solid powertrain though. My dad had one(2001 4.7) and in 225k it only ever had a fuel injector, MAF sensor and the fuel pump replaced. Normal maintenance stuff too. brakes, front end, power steering hoses leaked, plugs, serp belt and such. Had the clearcoat peel all up the hood and on the roof and bed sides. It was well maintained with a carwash once a week and full detail. Garaged for 15 of the 20 years he owned it. Interior held up great. He bought a newer one and convinced me(a die hard GM fan) to buy a toyota(2019 tacoma). My last 2 GM trucks cost me a lot of money and proved to be money pits. Happy with the tacoma so far! Especially now that ive moved from Idaho to the Oregon coast. A lot more maneuverable for tight spaces over here.

    • @robsnizzle7
      @robsnizzle7 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Frame rot was mainly an issue on the 1st couple of years, Yota made changes in frame distributors after the 1st couple of years. But also depends on geographical location of course (salting of the roads).

    I love my 06 DC V8 (I'm a fellow Oregonian/PNW native myself). Best truck Toyota ever built IMO. It's the perfect cross between the modern Tacomas size and a 1/4 Ton Domestic pickups power and load capacity. Only thing I hate is that there's hardly any suspension options for them. OME (which I run on my other 2 Toyotas and ran on all the Cruisers I ran in Australia) doesn't make leaf's for it and it's got nothing like the support that Tacos get despite being more desirable trucks IMO.

      @@ocularpressure4558 sorry for the late answer but yes my 2006 tundra has 325000 miles. And still the same transmission and engine. I have only done the oil change, struds replacement, starter and tune up. But I believe the previous owner replace once the time belt and water pump. According to the dealer I am due for that but I see the truck very strong for another year.

      @@JesusMartinez-bx8dh Yes I heard the timing belt and water pump and pulleys have to re-be replaced every hundred thousand miles it’s an interference engine and if the belt snaps the pistons will hit the valves and destroy the engine also if you have a loose steering column shifter mine just broke and it’s $189 dealer only part it’s aluminum and the block is connected to the shifter it comes out is one piece but if it breaks it will be stuck in whatever position it shifted into it the time so if yours is loose she might want to look into it
