Great video Hollpoll, Brian is definitely a man that likes his railmotors..! Five years waiting for a model, thats a lifetime ..! Nice to see your great layout again.
It's amazing what we find without looking for it, these days. Last weekend, I visited the Llangollen Railway to take a ride. I visited the town afterwards. Wandering around the back of the Tenovus Charity Shop, I caught sight of something I wasn't even looking for: a Felix the Cat Beanie Toy. I bought the item and Felix is now on my bed, making friends with my other plushies.
A very nice layout your friend has Stuart, The Railmotors look Great, ihad a Horby one not cheap but no where as much detail as these have, think i paid about £60 a lot more expensive to day .....
Hornby have never made a Railmotor - they have made an Autocoach though. Railmotors have an in-built locomotive, whereas Autocoaches are unpowered and are coupled to a locomotive. Most Railmotors were converted to Autocoaches when their boilers etc needed renewing, hence the similarly.
Hi Stewart, That is some collection of Railmotors owned by your friend and he also made a super job of your "lost" loco so thanks for showing us them and nice to see your layout still running well keep up the good work. Cheers Robert.
Brian’s God’s Wonderful Railway is a joy to view. What was the consensus about Kernow’s steam rail motor? It’s fine looking model, but not without some problems it seems in other videos. That Billinton loco is great - I hope kit building never dies out! Another enjoyable video Stewart.
The Railmotor is a lovely model. I had to return the first one I had - it was ever so slightly jerky at one point of wheel rotation. Not much, but you could see it, and it spoiled the effect of realistically slow stops/starts. Running-in improved it a tad, but I wasn't happy about it. Also one LED lamp then failed (slight pity that they are overscale and too bright when the Railmotor's up to a reasonable speed). As it cost £180 (pre-ordered, non-DCC, non-sound), I want it spot-on, and all design features working as they should. The replacement is a better runner all round, straight out of the box, and I'm 100% happy with this one.
Thanks for commenting Andrew, yes there have been a few problems , I imagine it would be pretty complex to assemble, still toying with the idea of buying one just for the hell of it (a fool and his money are easily parted !), thanks again Stewart
@@hollpoll Fools unite Stewart! My layout is SR third rail, and I’m trying to think of an excuse to run one - The Great Western and Southern Joint Railway is feasible🤔
Excellent, I enjoy your videos so much, such a variety, thanks.
