- Here, I share the process I went through to animate a floating thought bubble in for my last entry to the 11 second club.
I talk about how I drew the animation, using a guide layer, why I drew it the way I did. Then I show how I added this scene into a different scene in another project! Then I animated some movement of the bubble and used the effects to “matte in” another columns drawings.

Your videos are always so helpful, but this has to be one of the greatest. There are so many techniques you show off with simple clear examples. I was just looking for a tutorial on sub Xsheet, but got so much more.

I try to pack in as many tips as I can, without it getting too confusing. And I must say, I really enjoyed creating this 😀
how to overlay 2 layers. Like, the top layer will only show up in the bottom part of the drawing. That is, if I make an eye, I can make another drawing that will be the eyelid and it will only appear where the eye is, the person can do this in photoshop
To do this you'd use the Matte In effect. That's exactly what it's for, overlaying one column only where the 2nd column has drawings.
@@DarrenTAnims I think I underestimate opentoonz too much. Practically, it has everything you need.

Can you do motion graphics in opentoonz is it a good 👍alternative for after effects Can you explain the similarities and differences between the two programs? thanks
That's a great question. I've thought about making a video about using motion graphics in OpenToonz. It's not as simple as using After Effects, but it is possible.

I can't use the brush in vector mode, the line turns red with "X" at the beginning, if I click on any corner it goes to that corner, I don't know how to solve it
I'm not quite sure what you mean. It sounds like you might have Guided Drawing Controls turned on.
I don't know what you mean by clicking on a corner. You don't click on a corner when drawing with the brush, so I'm guessing that you're using a different tool.
