I tried a home birth after having a really smooth pregnancy but ended up having to be rushed to hospital and having an emergency c-section. I loved the idea of a home birth but had no idea about the risks and percentage of women who end up needing to travel to hospital to give birth. Not trying to scaremonger but wish I had known the risks and we were just lucky we got to hospital as fast as we did
I adore your hall storage so so much!!! You look amazing and thank you for being so consistent with content - I love love love unwinding with a cuppa on the couch watching your vids. ❤
I went for a home birth for my third, for the same reason just wanting my husband there after and the kids and my own bed. It was the BEST decision I made, my favourite birth of all! Literally just birthed over my birth ball in the living room at 3am and the kids came down at 6am, midwives gone by then and able to rest. We had a lot of discouragement from some midwives incase something went wrong and we wouldn’t make it in time to the hospital etc. I was so relaxed at home it was the one birth without any haemorrhaging too!
Hello! You look radiant! The entrance hallway is chic, modern, and utilitarian. I remember when your brother visited with a rug for the hallway.........It is nice to know happy people like you are in my world. Baby #3!!!!!!!
Love your current skin care routine, especially using more hydration products. I also use more Korean skincare now and will never go back. I would recommend the "LANEIGE Cream Skin Toner" or THANK YOU FARMER Rice Pure Essential Toner - pure hydration in a bottle. Also, if you want to try another option for the Laroche Posay Cicaplast B5, the Avène Cicalfate+ is super good.
I think you guys should if it makes you feel much better! It’s all about you and your family! Definitely lead with your heart! you are very inspiring to me. Thank you for sharing! 🫶💌
Just had a homebirth with my 4th baba and it was amazing. As you say you had two previous unmedicated births and seem to know your body in birth so can imagine it would be perfect for you. Aftercare is so much more personal with midwives and baba and I are enjoying a very chilled postpartum ✨💕.
I had a home waterbirth with my second after an uneventful natural hospital birth with my first. I cannot recommend it enough! The water helped with the pain so much, and being able to climb into my own bed, shower in my own shower, it was SO nice!! If we have a third I will 100% do it again! I was low risk and we live like two minutes from the hospital, I can see it from my house so I felt super confident about being able to transfer quickly if need be, and my medical team said was a great candidate for home birth. I had early labour contractions over night, then active labour for half an hour and ten minutes of pushing and she was here! No tearing or anything this time around, it was honestly so magical! Still hurt like heck but I’d pick a home water birth again every time!
I had a homebirth with my third, and it was incredible! I had him at 12:30 am, midwives were gone by 3, kids walked into my room in the morning and met their baby brother ❤ but whatever you choose, I’m wishing you a healthy birth!
I’m not sure I understood- are U saying you used four lipliners for the first look? I like the color and would be interested to recreate but 4 lip liners is three more than I think I can work out. Can you maybe just do a lip look video or point me to one youve already done that will help someone choose a pencil or stick to try out the product line? Thanks 😊
Would strongly discourage a homebirth. Sure the "calm" homebirth videos on youtube are cute but no one ever shows the reality of when it goes wrong. So so many nicu nurses ive seen have been left traumatised by the homebirth transfers theyve had to deal with. In an emergency you can be taken to the or thats just the distance of a hallway away and baby will be out within minutes, at home you have to get from home to hospital and then from there to the or. Theres a reason so many obs will never advise a homebirth even if youve had previous uncomplicated deliveries. Anything can happen and the safest place to be is the hospital. You can be discharged early if thats your worry but i wouldnt jump to a homebirth. Im in a group of multiple homebirth loss moms who have legal cases against their midwives.
People suit everyone for just about anything! That is why so many doctors recommend cesarean births. I'm in the States; maybe it's different in Ireland.
Coudn't agree more! It is scary how many things can go wrong with the birth process. And sometimes it is a matter of minutes if the baby lives or dies. (e.g. Umbilical cord prolapse, neonatal asphyxia, placentar abruption etc etc etc)😢
I hope you have the most amazing birth experience ever! I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful experience regardless of what you do, would be nice if your maternity wing was closer just so your options aren’t so far apart!! LOL! But wishing you the most magical delivery wherever it is 🤍
tiktok taught me about the lore of why women give birth on their backs now and how it can be ineffective compared to standing so I too have been considering a home birth (I am not pregnant, married or even engaged but I still think about what I would wanna do when giving birth in the future LOL)
Can I ask what makes you say this? It’s a very strong statement to make considering this is (as far as we know) a low risk woman with two previous straightforward births. As a healthcare professional myself we would absolutely support a home birth. In fact, the latest research shows it is just as safe, in some cases even safer to give birth at home rather than in hospital. Do not scaremonger. And as a professional you should be providing information to support informed choice, definitely not just stating your own opinion as you have here.
@@HanaLily123 if you're a professional you should know how to interpret the data provided in those studies. Homebirth will Always show better results than hospital births, thus giving the illusion that they're safer. What many don't understand is homebirth transfers are recorded as hospital births, they are not recorded in the homebirth statistics. Homebirth transfers resulting in neonatal or maternal morbidity/mortality are always included in the hospital birth statistics. Homebirth transfers resulting in c sections are recorded in the hospitals section rate. Homebirth will always "look safer" on paper but in reality it's not. Obs advise against it because they see the horror of the homebirth transfers that have gone wrong. The safest place to be is the hospital. Its unfortunate hb statistics don't include the amount of preventable neonatal deaths that occur due to birthing at home.
Coudn't agree more Lena! It is scary how many things can go wrong with the birth process. And sometimes it is a matter of minutes if the baby lives or dies. (e.g. Umbilical cord prolapse, neonatal asphyxia, placentar abruption, uterine rupture etc etc etc)😢
As an emergency medicine doc, I also support this obgyn’s recommendations. While it’s true most pregnancies, especially for people who have had previously uncomplicated healthy pregnancies, will have an uneventful home birth, even the most healthy and uncomplicated pregnancy can have a sudden unforeseen complication where you require full NICU highest level care to save baby, immediate blood products/ OR to save mom. I’ve seen it happen. And it needs to happen immediately. That’s why you should deliver in the hospital, it might be less glamorous, but they’ll save you and your baby during the time when both you and baby are most vulnerable on the rare (but less rare than you think) instance when you need it.
Pregnancy suits so well you're glowing ! don't forget to rest x

Hey Elanna, could you please share where your gold hoops are from ? :)

No. As an ob/gyn, i would strongly advise against a home birth. Deliver in a hospital and ask to be discharged early if all is well

Если первые и вторые роды прошли успешго, это не значит что и 3-и пройдут хорошо.Это не предсказуемый процесс!!!
