For sure, it’s got some historic value since this was how streetcars were converted, maintaining electric power! It also helps get past San Francisco’s steep grades.
Neat! Are there any cities west of the Mississippi River other than San Francisco that have them? I know a lot of cities had them decades ago (e.g., Chicago), but I don’t know of any other cities that do.
