My son built a rocking horse project when he was a senior in high school. It was large enough for an adult person to ride. The horse was passed around all the younger generation. His kids are now in their 20s. You can get a pattern for it still, I’m sure.
Super happy you’re stopping the rocking horse! He’s scary looking aesthetically, but also the chance of it being lead paint is pretty scary especially for baby items that have the potential to be chewed on.
Normally I would say “no! Don’t strip it!” But the eyes on that rocking horse…truly terrifying. It will look beautiful natural!

That’s a great price for a pedal car. I’ve seen them over $400 in the Midwest and they weren’t pristine.
I was relieved when you said you were stripping the horse! You talked about scary horses & then showed what you bought & I was like...that's terrifying!!
I'd strip the horse too, it will be lovely without the paint.
You can find antique inspired rocking horse toys for kids to use I think my son's might have been by Kolcraft. With that said he really never used his. I now have a toddler girl and don't plan to repurchase one for her.
Any antique finds I’d test for lead before buying
