This unironically may have been the best time for Alicia to do a react series on Gravity Falls, given the fandom resurgence the last month
Why the resurgence? Did I miss something?
@@adventwatchog9460 Book of Bill.
@@adventwatchog9460 book of bill and a new website arg, we finally get bill's entire backstory XD
With how close we are to the end, Alicia could maybe finish the series on the last day of summer, aka the Pines twins birthday. I doubt it’ll happen since some episodes would have to be double uploads but it WOULD be a great way to line things up!
Crazy right?
The code at the end is a farewell to Big Henry, the big blue golf guy who died in the gas leak.
Big Henry got cut!?!?! Confirmed Alicia is working with the windmill balls to win the sticker by covering up Henry’s brave sacrifice.
That joke between Stan and Soos together in the car is especially funny when you realise that it was Alex in the recording booth talking to himself
I wonder if Alex recorded the lines separately, or if he did it all together, switching between the voices xD.
@@Wendeta-hq2cp I feel like he did the two voices at the same time mainly because it’s funnier to imagine him rapidly switching between both voices at the same time
I always love it when va’s who voice multiple people do that.
Big Henry will be remembered
The editor forgot about him.
JOHN HENRY, JOHN HENRY WAS A MIGHTY MAN
I mean yeah but... Pacifica's biggest sin is being a bully and being rich. Gideon was this close to commit actual murder over a crush. I don't think you can compare those two.
I love how Dipper's "She's cheeting at life" line convinced Alicia just as fast as it did Mebel
I have yet to see any reactor refute his statement.
Not-So-Average-Fangirl did just that though. Her argument was that Mabel wanted to win on her own merit, which is a fair point and the lesson of the episode, but on the other hand, Pacifica’s cheating at life and not just mini golf so…
@@zacharybartolo5111 Apples to oranges comparison. Mabel wants to win based on skill... Pacifica ALSO wants to win on skill ("I trained for like a million hours"). In miniputt, while wealth can have a minor influence such as access to better quality clubs or math teachers, the impact isn't all that great: A great minputter could probably kick with their foot better than the average person with the best clubs in the world. On top of this, Mabel is ALSO cheating at life, she has a family with superpowers, magic books, etc etc. Dipper literally causes a zombie plague because he was mildly sassed not two episodes ago. If you were in a fantasy universe, and had a sorcerer go up against a tradinghouse broker, you'd say the sorcerer was the favored, the overdog, the cheating one.
@@falsnamae3511 "wealth can have a minor influence such as access to better quality clubs or math teachers, the impact isn't all that great"
Sorry, but that's a myopic way to understand her privileges. Being rich means that you can "train for like a million hours" in the first place, something a non-rich person may not afford time or resource-wise. Not to mention lifetime access to better health, technological, and human resources (I dunno why you mention math teachers over the gold medal personal trainer???).
Second, the framing of Mabel's advantage is very hyperbolic. Her family doesn't have superpowers period. The journals clearly have some spells, like the raising dead one or the bill cipher summon ritual, but for the most part are just research notebooks of phenomena in the area. And they only had access to this advantage for half a summer, in contrast to, again, an entire life of privileges. A more accurate comparison, in the fantasy universe, would be a random guy who got a monster manual a month ago versus the son of a Duke
I mean its true, every rich yt person is cheating at life so can't blame people who hate them
cutting out big henry is criminal
Never forget Big Henry
I think it's to convince people who KNOW about Big Henry to subscribe to the Patreon.
@@SimmiusDeltanedamn, that’s brilliant
@@SimmiusDeltane I mean... she didn't even address it few seconds after it ended. Super exclusive for that one scene, that could easily be turned into a TH-cam highlight.
@@SimmiusDeltaneLike I get that, but the fact that there is ZERO Big Henry otherwise both in footage and in mentions (unless you count the code) when even the most heavily edited reactions at least show a snippet of him is still pretty criminal. It’s like showing the Trooth Ache short of the Bottomless Pit and skipping everything to do with the bear and going straight to Mabel asking Stan why he lied to the cops. Really hope this isn’t the approach she and her editor take to that sequence in Episode 9.
Fun fact. The Henry sequence was entirely based on an idea of Matt Braly, the creator of Amphibia another Disney show, and Alex Hirsch was genuinely kinda disturbed when he first heard it
I thought it was related to John Henry, a black man who drove his people to the promised land by hammering through a mountain then dying soon after. It's a Disney short.
@@allystrong6088John Henry versus the Steam Engine is an actual folktale; all Disney did was animate it and though I don’t remember if they show it in the animation, in the folktale proper John Henry beats the Steam Engine but dies in the end due to basically destroying his body in his attempt to win.
Specifically, Matt came up with this idea because there wasn’t really anything that stood out comedy wise in the second Act with the Lilliputtians, thus Big Henry.
John Henry is a worker’s folk tale about a black man competing against a machine but dying as a result.
Spongebob did an adaptation where he competed against a Krabby Patty-fry cook machine
I thought it was based on the song about Big John, a Massive man who Held up the ceiling of a collapsing mine so everyone could get out in time, aside from himself.
Goodbye Big Henry, you served your people well.
Why he kinda
JOHN HENRY WAS A MIGHTY MAN
NOOOO ALICIA CUT BIG HENRYYYYYYY
We’ll never forget him…

BUT YOU DEAR VIEWER CAN SEE IT UNEDITED ON PATREON, FOR $5 A MONTH
Can't believe it.
Stan appearing and saving the twins in episode one was also skipped, that being skipped has me worried about what other scenes they will skip in the future.
So with Gideon's parents, I feel like the mom seems less culpable than the dad? Like all we ever see of her she's a nervous wreck trying to not be noticed in her own home. Like she gives BIG abused-isolated-house-wife vibes.
Also Gideon's dad does seem like a scamming businessman but is also kinda... chill? Sure yeah he's totally enabling Gideon but at the same time it's not the same as Pacifica's enabling. Like I think Alicia's "the parent's are responsible" thing falls apart a little bit when Gideon usually scares his own parents into submission.
@@GenericProtagonist118I think it is reasonable to assume Gideon's parents started out as enabling him and that grew out of control as Journal 2 allowed Gideon to grow more and more central to their family's income and schemes, driving Bud to become more of a figurehead in the family and Mrs. Gleeful to shut down due to their initial enabling of Gideon's behavior. Sort of a domino effect going on with that family.
That being said, it is fair to draw a distinction between the passively bad parenting of the Gleefuls and the cornucopia of problems the actively abusive Northwests put on the table
The actor's name you were thinking of was "Patton Oswald".
He was Remy in Ratatouille, Professor Dementor in Kim Possible, and the fire martial in Brooklyn 99.
and Jesse from Minecraft Story Mode
Also Deep's gills in the Boys.
and quibble pants in mlp:fim
Never forget the sacrifice of Big Henry. He died so Polly could grow up in a world without war.
I can't believe she skipped Big Henry part of the reaction

Awww I wanted to see her reaction to Big Henry, the most f***ed up gag in all of Gravity Falls.
I like to think that Mabel failed to break her record on the last putt at the start of the episode BECAUSE she imagined the ball was Pacifica's face. Mabel is too nice a person to truly hate someone so she didn't hit it correctly.
Fun Fact: about the Pacifica taking a ride in the Pines’ Car Scene at the end of this Episode, someone actually made a Anime Version of that Scene here on TH-cam and it’s a very well done Video too in my opinion, would like to see you React to it at some point.
Anyway, this was the first step towards Pacifica’s Redemption, can’t wait to see you watch how that unfolds.
I've been waiting for that since her first appearance.
My only problem (nitpick really) with that is that the artist designed her hair wrong. Pacifica's hair has that weird style that makes her hair, like, bigger at the top. It's like a really American thing. I think I remember Ashley Tisdale in High School Musical having that style, too, at some point. If the artist didn't know that, then I totally get why they chose to give her the more un-styled look. They must've thought her big head looked weird and so, drew her with a "more normal head" but it was actually just a hairstyle.
Justice 4 Big Henry.
Fun fact: the big henry scene was not in the initial script of the episode. It was added in the storyboard by Matt Brady (the episode director and future creator of Amphibia). The entire crew loved it, but were worried about potential complaints from Disney and viewers all the up to premiere (which they never got).
Big Henry as a character was inprired by John Henry
Pacifica Northwest walked so Amity Blight could run.
Not Alicia cutting Big Henry's death scene. HEARTLESS.
Stan appearing and saving the twins in episode one was also skipped, that being skipped has me worried about what other scenes they will skip in the future.
R.I.P. in peace Big Henry

No big henry? I'm sad now.

So the joke on the name of the little golfball people that is missed by almost everyone and why it makes more sense written than spoken is because its a pun on the Liliputians(sp) the little people from the first part of Gulliver's Travels.
Funny thing, my Uncle was actually a professional power walker. Due to how his bones were put together it made him especially good at power walking specifically. No idea about the specifics though, seems like a sport that only exists because some people are naturally built for it.
7:52 Coming from a track athlete of 10+ years yes Power Walking is a sport at the olympics cause it falls under Track and Field events and trust me there are A LOT of specific rules to power walking:
One foot must be on the ground at all times, Each advancing foot-strike must be heel-to-toe at all times, Creeping (where the advancing leg is stretched forward beyond a normal walk form, and the knee is bent into a running form) is not allowed, you can only slightly bend your knee (if it looks like a normal running knee you get DQed). Don't knock it and the people who perform the event until you've tried it on a competitive level b/c it is very difficult with all the regulations it has.
Love ur vids and sorry for the rant XD
This
There's actually a lot of regulation about how to properly "power walk" in the olympics.
And it's been around for a WHILE. I recall my country getting silver medal in it or something in the 90s.
One of my favorite little things in this show is how Dipper hates Pacifica much more than Mabel does
30:10 I wonder if Alicia forgot that Gideon literally had a pendant that he could KILL his parents with, does she not notice how his mom is TERRIFIED OF HIM LMAO. I would enable him and give him what he was too after that. Lol
behold! the start of Pacifica's semi redemption!
A week away from the next step
Think it would've been funny if they'd done another season and Pacifica ended up with Dipper.
Really feels like we should’ve gotten one more episode with her. I know Alex always says he only intended for the show to be 2 seasons but I genuinely feel like a lot of stuff wasn’t wrapped up super well and could’ve used another season.
Gideon's parents? You try saying no to a kid with literal magic powers. His dad is scared shitless of him and his mom has had a mental breakdown from fear.
rip big henry
Alicia's confession happens
One random dude watching this.: Points at screen "That's what the fuck happened!"
5:50 yo… one time a friend of mine and I went to Dave and Busters. She saw this kid sneak up and take a bucket of tickets from like this party of drunks. My friend walked up to the kid and said “give me half and I won’t say nothin” my jaw dropped and she say “don’t you want that blu tooth speaker”
Long story short 10 years later I still have that speaker
since the gideon thing came up again, I wanna make this point again. Gideon wasn't just a kid. he was a kid with magical artifacts of power that he used to manipulate and force his parent into obedience. I don't believe gideon is a monster from birth or something stupid like that, no-one is. but there is a good chance his parents never had a choice but enable him. this is alluded to by his mom being terrified of him and clearly traumatised by something he did, and with the classic "I can buy and sell you old man" I feel he did something to his mother in the past and his dad has no choice but to obey him and his wishes. I imagine this is wat would happen with any child that gets arcane powers. but still it would mean the parents had no choice.
He started in the series with the ability to levitat shit with his mind, I can only imagine how destructive the average tantrum must have been like.
Grunkle Stan's fists are rated E for everyone.
14:52 Oh!! I finally get it: lilli-putt-tians; As in the lilliputians, the little people from Gulliver's Travels. That's a good reference.
Pacifica walked so Amity could run
18:48 That Tulip Muncher joke is layered as fuck. I've watched this show like 5 times and I never noticed it.
If you're wondering, look up "Tulip Mania" and remember the Windmill guys are based on the Dutch.
Me reading Dippers crossed out notes from the Journals: *and so, it begins*
16:12 The Ball Master is a honorable title. Almost as much as The Master Baiter
Power walking hurts. Your legs cramp up fast.I did that once so I wasn’t late for work and my leg started to get a Charlie horse. I walk to work everyday.
uses different muscles somehow. you can walk every day and still not be using all the muscles in your leg, which can cause the pian.
Muscles are weird.
I can't believe you cut one of the best jokes in the show. I was looking forward to this reaction specifically for that moment.
YOU CAN'T JUST CUT OUT BIG HENRY LIKE THAT 😢

Stan appearing and saving the twins in episode one was also skipped, that being skipped has me worried about what other scenes they will skip in the future.
There IS nothing wrong with enjoying someone's downfall indeed.
To quote American Lawyer Clarence Darrow from the early 1900's: "I have never wished a man dead. but I have read some obituary notices with great satisfaction."
Don't if you already seen it or if 200 people already mentioned it but you should see the Anime version of this episodes end made by a chanel named Mike Inel, it's 9 years old and has like 52 million views lol. It's great and super cute.
Next, the beginning of a trend that Owl House and another show (that I won’t say to avoid spoiling it if Alicia wants to watch it; she should) have Gravity Falls to thank for.
There's an animated version of that part in the car by a channel called Mike Inel in his animesck art style its really cool
Its called If Gravity Falls Was An Anime
Of course you'd recognize franz's VA he voice acts a RAT in a movie.
Pretty popular one.
ratatouille
NOOOOOO WE GOT DEPRIVED OF THE BIG HENRY SCENE 🧎♀
what I like about this ep was that even if she's a jerk, Pacifica is good at minigolf. So many shows have the rival only be good because they're cheaters in some form of another. Sometimes people who are jerks are good at what they do in real life. Sure she had money to buy the best trainers, but she is legitimately good at the game
NOO WHY NO BIG HENRY THATS THE BEST PART
It's possible Mabel uses the sale rack even in her imagination because that's where she gets her unique sweaters. They have too much character for everyday people so that's where they always are.
I like how confident and determined Dipper is when it comes to standing up for Mabel, he goes out of his way to antagonize Pacifica for being mean to her
Leaving out Big Henry in a REACTION is criminal 😭
This episode was the first Mike Inel used to make gravity falls an anime. The video still holds up, and it created the domino effect in the sides of the internet we don't talk about.
Season 2 Episode 3: Aw, what a cute episode about sentient golf balls wanting to be the number 1 course.
21:33: 💀
Oh no they cut big Henry pain, anyways loved how instant the agreement was with Dipper.
Ya'll did Big Henry dirty
11:53 If I had to guess, the life of a DIYer? Mabel is most likely set for a career of sewing, arts and crafts, patchwork, and knick knacks. She can make anything look good, let alone the discount clothes section.
30:00 Gideon’s Dad definitely enables him. On the other hand, I have NO IDEA what’s going on with his Mom!
A filler but a good one! Pacifica redemption arc!? 🤔 R.I.P. Big Henry. 😔
29:50: Yeah but Gideon's different. You'll know what I mean, if you read the journal.
The horrifying part of Gideon is, his *father* seems to be the only enabler. It's implied through contextual clues that his mother may have been opposed to Gideon's actions, but he did something so terrifying to her, it scarred her. She is perpetually scared when she's on screen, you'll notice.
18:21 - _"Pacifica's rich, Mabel. She's cheating at life."_ - *“Okay! That is a based-as-fuck answer. True enough, Dipper!”*
In episode 1x10, when you said a similar thing about rich people being able to _buy_ their way out of consequences (with the example of medical bills resulting from fighting), this moment is what I was immediately reminded of.
Cutting big Henry is honestly pretty foul.
But, to bring up Gideon again, his amulet was literally CURSED. Anyone who uses it extensively will have "their hair turn pure white, & their heart turn pitch black" Gideon was not a result of parenting, & we literally never Gideon's past BEFORE the amulet.
Like I said, Gideon's dad is a piece of shit, but he only capitalized Gideon's powers AFTER they started. And his mother is absolutely traumatized, so I'm willing to bet she ATTEMPTED to put her foot down & was "corrected" by Gideon.
14:46 Alicia would recognize a voice actor who's famous for voicing a rat
Today's secret message is "REMEMBER BIG HENRY."
Alicia maybe the first person to think Mabel need to dream bigger.
"Old man sleeping on the green,
can't help but wonder what he's seen"👁
"Nlmxqwwn Iiz Lzfnf"👁⛳🏆🥤🌮
I really hope Alicia checks out Steven Universe some day. It was the best emotional trauma I ever watched. ❤️
Redemption of Pacifica: Origins
My parents told me that when I was in Pre-k, me and my friend were being bullied and that my Dad just said to fight back. Then me and my friend fought back and we became friends with the bully.
Pacificas development is so good, love how this show does growth❤
Awh, no reaction to Henry death? That scene was so hilarious at being so random and dark!
Today's cipher is a somber reminder of the sacrifices that were made:

Paciffica have one of biggest character development in Gravity falls
Cutting Big Henry out of the reaction is god damn criminal
The big henry sideplot coming out of nowehere and being serious as heck
Threw me the first time i saw it. I laughed so so hard.
Ah, the Lilli-Putt-ians. Great play on Gulliver's Travels.
Minigolf is a survival of the fittest sport
Dipper was honestly kind of petty here, not one of his best moments but at least he learns later on.
Damn she cut out literally the best bit in the episode, that’s a war crime
All the Pacifica episodes make me anxious to see how Alicia will react to the bell. I feel like she’ll pop off at it but idk. It was just something that has stuck with me from that episode just for how shocking it was.
The voice of Franz is Patton Oswalt. He was the guy who voiced Remy from Ratatouille
Rip Big Henry
i did not know power walking was a sport
It looks ABSOLUTELY bizarre lmao, I went through a rabbit hole after someone commented how difficult it is. Surprisingly odd
We cut out Big Henry???
Dipper: “Pacifica’s Rich, Mabel. She’s cheating at life.”
Truer words have never been said.
Even more true considering we later find out how the Northwests made those riches.
"by the end of the episode they have to teach us cheating isn't the right thing to do, its a kid's show". This show taught a better lesson, don't make deals with strange little humanoids that hide just out of sight of humanity with a weird amount of control over things that should go to chance, seem to lack common sense, and only ask for something that seems silly and irrelevant in return at first"....speaking of, if you like this show and shows about kids going on fantasy adventures in a modern setting and learning lessons I can recommend the show Hilda. It has an emphasis on friendship, and mother/daughter relations.
Your comments on glow in the dark mini golf made me think of a summer off of college where I worked at one of those places. It was super fun. We weren't constantly busy, so on slow times, we were encouraged to go around the course with a ball and putter and try out some of the holes. We all had lists of holes that we could ace.
Anyone else want a short of Waddles by himself in the mystery shack?
Pacifica = Beta-Amity
Patton Oswalt is the voice actor for Franz. ton of roles, even a couple others here in GFalls
Wait who else did he play in Gravity Falls?
fair point, I saw a post mentioning a 'Spencer' but that's not a GFalls character, so my bad. it's only Franz, here.
fun fact: he also has a recurring character in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, "Quibble Pants".
Power walking is an Olympic sport!? Inclusivity goes crazy.
"I'm with Dipper" - don't worry Alicia, we never had any delusions about you being a moral person :)
"Goddamn. Judgey"
Didn't you just call Tyler a pedo a few episodes ago based on looks?
Break-dancing is also in the Olympics now 😳
🤦♀
Now that she has reacted to this episode I hope she reacts to the "what if gravity falls was an anime" by Mike Inel.
My favorite thing about the internet is that someone re-animated the whole car scene at the end in a anime style and it’s so pretty
