I adopted a sweet girl that was abused horribly. I have had her for about 6 years. She is a wonderful, sweet and very silly girl. Still once in awhile she has horrible dreams. Though much better it is just sad the damage done to these precious babies. I wish I could adopt them ALL!

My Tinkerbell is no longer with us but we had her for ten years before she died every time she could get out of the house she took off even though she was safe with us. Some habits just never break.

I’m always amazed at these animals actually giving humans another chance. We really don’t deserve them. I’m thankful for all you rescuers, fosters, etc. My dream would be to have a farm giving teens aging out of foster care a safe place and have them care for rescue animals. I can’t think of two “groups” that would help each other heal more than that.

Wow Tracy I really hope that dream comes true for you. My dream is to win a lot of money in LOTTO and build huge buildings to house homeless families with thier own individual units for as long as they need to get on thier feet and get thier own places again and keep paying it forward for other families needing temporary housing. With all the billions of dollars cities spend building sporting venues & concert venues but they won't build multiple venues to help our homeless and hungry families is just inhumane. I pray for those people all the time. So I'm putting it out there in the universe that I can win lots of billions in the lottery so I can help all the humans and animals in need.

Our big dog was the exact same when we first brought her home. She did not want to walk through the door, and once she did she just stayed in the foyer for a good while. She’s been with us for 3 years now and she is extremely sweet and spoiled rotten.

As people get to know each other and enjoy each others company the friendship deepens, when you can be your absolute honest self with a person, have total trust, loyalty and fun... then they may become best friends.. but this takes time, lot's of time.

The first expression of affection that dogs will show only to those who are open to them is to sleep near them. Dogs are very cautious animals. Therefore, when they sleep, they are most vulnerable and will not sleep unless they are in a safe environment. If your dog sleeps close to you, such as next to your side, it is because it thinks it can sleep in peace. In this case, he may be sleeping close to you because he wants to be pampered by you.🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶💖💖💖💖💖

It's great to see rescue animals like Porter living the safe, happy life they all deserve. But I truly believe they bring even MORE joy into our lives.
We can only imagine what Boomer must have suffered. Even though you could see that he wanted to come inside when the earth angels rescued him, he was so unsure. You could also tell that he was a gentle soul. Often these breeds get a bad reputation for being aggressive. It is only because humans make them aggressive. To see him now in his forever ❤ home is wonderful. Thank you earth angels who initially rescued him and to his forever ❤ family

I’m glad they tried to rescued as many as they can before the freeze hit! Those dogs, if not rescued, might not have survived the cold freeze because of how cold it got! IIRC it was 30 degrees and below, maybe even close to below zero.

Lovely dog, great people who rescued him. Glad he went to a lovely home and that he is bringing such happiness to his adopters. Dogs are awesome, I have lived with them since I was a baby and for me a house without a dog is just not home. I have 4 so my house is a bit of a serious home😀. I am dog addicted and I dont think it is curable.

Why do I have tears in my eye after watching nearly any episode of the Dodo? I believe that ANY person that abuses an animal should have the same abuse done to him/her, only amplified many times. I actually had a eague once tell me about her 'outside dogs'. That was really sad.
A big thank you to these types of rescuers! I adopted a Houston/Texas Freeze pittie as well - her rescuers were going door-to-door the day before the freeze, picking up strays and telling owners to take their pets inside when they found her tied inside a crate in the front yard of a rundown property with an embedded collar... no one was home, and they decided to cut her free, no doubt saving her life. She is a wonderful new addition and the perfect support sister to my other dog, another bully rescue with extreme nervousness/fear. Every one of these babies are unique and precious! 🙏🥰

Gotta love rescuers, they are the best! Gotta love those who adopt even knowing there will be challenges and require lots of patience (I know this firsthand). So happy Porter got his people and I hope his homeless buddies were also as fortunate to get their loving forever homes too.
There are so many people in this world that should never own a dog, they have no idea what it takes to raise, train and live with an animal. Dogs are so giving and loving animals, with real emotions, and like a child can be traumatized and get depressed easily. It's great to see the changes in a dog that's suddenly loved and treated properly by a human.
