Clay Holmes is not a closer, we need to trade for a closer a lefty setup man.
The bare minimum of things that need to go right for this team to make a deep run is daunting 1) Martian .850+ OPS replacing Verdugo, who's a good defensive replacement 2) Ben Rice needs to hit .780+ OPS 3) either Gleyber (2B) OR Jazz (3B) needs to hit .800+ OPS 4) Stanton needs to come back and be high .800s OPS 5) Cole needs to be Cole 6) either Rodon OR Gil needs to pitch like a #2 7) major bullpen help 8) Judge and Soto continues to be top 2 hitters in the AL Thats asking a lot Like... it's possible but I don't like our chances
The Gleyber to 3B thing is so dumb. Why even think about playing your worst defender at a new position in the middle of season… just get a legit 3B put jazz at 2B and trade Gleyber. Whole INF improves immediately. Or just keep Gleyber at 2B and let him just hit and continue to do what he’s been doing. Why even mess with it…. For what it’s worth jazz shouldn’t be at 3B either.
