Back to another multi-rider track, and this time to Dmitri Shostakovich's brilliant waltz no. 2. Had fun with the sync during some of the different dynamics and tempos in this one, and I experimented a little on the solo section two-thirds of the way through. Enjoy!
This has to be my favorite of yours yet! My favorite parts were the way the riders split up in sync at 1:45 and the tease with the exclamation point at 2:20 - I don't think I've seen a multi-rider track do stuff like this before (possibly with the exception of the green rider's "death" in beethoven's 5th?) which is very exciting to me to see someone multiple rider tracks into new and exciting narrative territory. As a line rider artist myself I also loved the bit at 1:08 where you really took some time to repeat that motif over and over for a few seconds - so many Line Rider artists tend to assume that people watching a track for the first time will "get" what you're doing in half a second after which you are free to extrapolate it and expand upon it, when you really need something more like 3-5 seconds for the average person to really see what's going on upon first watch.
It has been a joy to watch you slowly finding your footing as a Line Rider artist and I am really digging the direction in which you've decided to take your work. I am super excited to see what you do next!
Thank you Bevibel!
@Makailann Goodall can't remember exactly, maybe since it was written? Why do you ask?
@Makailann Goodall ah, fair enough.

Amazing imagination at work, and musically gifted too. Beautiful and I respect your creativity!
I had NO clue that riders could get back on their sleds and that moment made my entire weekend.
They never could until a new release of Line Rider a few months ago. It can be neat in places!
I hope we can see more of it in future videos!
Is this Line rider 2? I haven't seen that game in years man, wow. Can you send a link plz?
@@ioplop2943 this was done at linerider.com
@@MatthewBuckleyLineRider I just checked the link. Bro, Line Rider is feeling so nice now. It's got some very cool built in functionalities and is looking really clean too :o I might even try to make a track myself for fun too o.o
I really like how graceful the extra riders are when they come back. They just fly in and land perfectly on the track.
Thank you - takes a bit of effort but worth it in the end.
So what you're saying is: *A m A z I n G*
not sarcastically

To quote Woody from Toy Story, "These guys are professionals. They're the best"!
I clapped when riders went back on to their sleighs
I KNOW RIGHT
I out loud said “Oh THANK GOD” 😂 I get way too attached to these guys
And then everyone clapped...
I just simply love classical music, so just having someone making this kind of dance with beautiful plays it's simply meravellous. Thank you so much for this seriously!!
No problem, glad you like my videos 😀.
@@MatthewBuckleyLineRider I really do thanks for your hard work really😁
@@MatthewBuckleyLineRider You should do one with one of shostakovich's symphonies. Jk the video would be like 40 minutes long
This is amazing...really😊
@@reybeltran1209 Symphony no.5 4th movement
To be more specific, I love the matching up the number of riders to the number of beats per measure, (3 since its a waltz), and the track takes advantage of this countless times and every time it did my face lit up, and the moment with the exclamation mark was a great tease.
Thanks, glad those moments are noticed 😊
There was a lot to love in this one. Two things really stood out: how the character of the line changed with the brass section made it feel even more in tune with the music, and the tricks you did in that area with the rider swooping above and below the line added to it further. Also, having the riders converge and diverge on the main line with minor differences in speed and angle was really nice. The way they drew together at times felt great, though I'm glad that they also rode in parallel on their own lines at other times. Playing around with the two gives extra options for times when all of the instruments are in alignment, and I really appreciate what you're doing here.
What a comment - thank you, so glad the little detail is noticed 😊
My music teacher showed us this and everyone in my class just so shocked about the riders just coming back and landing perfectly on the lines
Thanks Gillian, glad you all liked it! Yeah, it took some patience, timing and perseverance with the riders off-screen to get them flying back in at just the right angle, rotation and speed.
That exclamation mark for the surprise made me smile. Also the following slipping trombone solo is absolutely golden.
The way the rider just flips around during the trombone solo is sending me
My favorite moment is when the harmonies line up and so do the trio of line riders as they go up and down in pitch! Ugh, so cool!!
I loved classical music already, but this is the ultimate way to make it enjoyable for people who are not too familiar with it, especially children!
Despite everything, this has been my favorite discovery of 2020. There’s something so nice about knowing this is on the internet.
I really think these videos should be shown to people who are not used to listening to classical music or to young children. It would teach them the feel of it, how to listen to classical music, make them understand it better
This made me cry for some reason. This is my favourite classical piece and it’s just... heartwarming. Thank you.
Sorry to hear that! Hopefully good tears. Thank you 😊
@@MatthewBuckleyLineRider of course they were good tears, maybe tears of endearment. no, but seriously, thank you so much for this video.
I love these - the combination of music & movement is perfect.
I have to be honest and say that, when I saw my first one,
I thought “Ah. There’s Wally! That’s what he’s been up to”.
Please do more they are brilliant and have really cheered me up during lockdown.
Thank you, glad they have helped during lockdown.
I watched a few videos like this from a few years ago, and thought they were pretty cool, but this one is on another level. This is like watching an extremely well-done action-sequence-set-to-music in a big budget movie. I don't know what your regular job is, but this could literally be used as resume material for applying to work as a film editor in Hollywood.
no better feeling than seeing that theres a new vid from this channel
I get into these so much I wanted to yell "watch out!" when that one almost ran over the other one. Then when green and blue got back on their sleds, I actually cheered. I absolutely love these! They're so fun to watch.
Thanks Krissy, glad you like them!
Still hearting every comment when you get 70 comments in a few hours. Massive props to you
If people are kind enough to leave a comment, I'll say thanks with an acknowledgement.
Matthew Buckley very epic
A red and blue sleigh rider. Tenet vibes.
👀
Wonderful!!! It was immensly satisfying to see the riders and their carts go on their separate paths and join back again in the end, it was an outstanding move!
Marvellous......just bloody marvellous!!
This is so good! Thank you for another top tier line rider vid 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This is my favourite piece by Shostakovich and I was really feeling it through the video. It made me miss playing in orchestra. Thank you for this!! It’s so wonderful and beautifully done!
This is fantastic; my favorite yet. I love the relentless determination of Ref-Scarf Rider during the first 26 bars, and then later his tipsy interaction with the trombone player.
Bit to late by founding this 🤭 bus is the best one I've ever seen! and fun!! 🤣
Haha, at least you found it eventually, and thanks!
Best Line Rider video with the best classical song
This music seems to have been written for the Riders! Thanks Matthew!
Hey Kate! Haha, maybe it was :-) .
I've watched many of these now as they've cropped up over the years. This is truly inspired stuff. It's so sympathetic to the music where it illustrates rhythm, and texture, and many times contour of melody. Even the editing of longer pieces to make for a shorter video is tastefully done. It's fantastic for classroom analysis which I've done a few times now (with full credit to you). Thank you so much sharing your creative interpretations of these pieces.
It's a pleasure, especially when used in a classroom situation, I'm really happy to hear when these videos are used to help introduce students of any age to classical music. Thanks for letting me know!
First, the music is great! Second, the line riders are so cute! And I love that the two that lost their sleds, got back to them. ❤
Thanks Krissy, glad you liked it 😊
I never realized how perfect this piece is for Autumn. Like, imagine this playing at a Harvest or Halloween ball
I couldn’t help but do a standing ovation slow clapping and saying Bravo and the end. Great work! 👏🏻
I can’t imagine how long this took, but just wanted to say thanks. I find it an incredibly meditative experience that draws me in to appreciate the piece even more. This truly is art. 👏👏👏
This had a better more interesting plot than some of my favourite TV shows...
What a comment, thanks!
La vida es éso, cada uno lucha con lo que encuentra en su camino y al final.. todos llegamos donde mismo. Música preciosa y tema del vídeo espectacular.
This brings back SO many memories of learning this piece and I absolutely love that it's so dancelike here with the lines 🤗
First time I clap in real life after a video has finished. It is astonishing, almost mesmerizing
Such fun. A wonderful way to introduce the classics to younger and very old (me) fans. I grew up with the classical music always in the background. This is great. Keep it up. Thanks.
waltz no2 is favorite piece and this video made it better good job well-done applause 👏 👏 👏
Thank you so much for doing this. It makes me really happy, for 4 minutes I stop having to many thoughts, worries, too much pressure.
I showed it to my parents, they really loved it.
I love the solo, it's so graceful! Great work :)
Thank you for rediscovering this game my kids played so many years ago. I loved watching what they did with it, and this waltz touches me, because my local Russian balalaika orchestra plays it.
These videos have got the essence and soul of music. Great work!
Thank you for blessing people with your work and raising awareness of classical music.
Seriously, thank you.
Marvelous , truly marvelous! I loved how the riders, their sleds kept tempo , and how they met up in the finale.
This is my favourite one. Learnt it on both piano and clarinet
I love classical music! But with these line bike riders...i enjoy it far more! Thank you😊
Thanks, really glad you like it.
The person who did it is a genius! Really big congrats for this amazing job!
Holy CRAP! This is so amazing! I had a huge smile on my face the entire time, and that ENDING!
I'll never get tired of this omg. This is one of my favorite classical pieces ever and watching the little riders waltz along perfectly on their tracks make it even better. ❤
Thanks, yeah it's a great piece of music, isn't it.
This whole video made me smile from ear to ear
this channel is so gold. perhaps one of the best ways to visualize classical music.
Thanks Sam, very kind 😊
Such brilliance. Kept me smiling the whole way through except when I raised my eyebrows when our hero did a free fall!
Haha, glad you liked it.
This one is so good!!!!! The ending was so cute with them all landing back on their sleds. I hope more people discover these vids, you are such an underrated creator. Keep up the amazing work 😊
Thank you, very kind 😊
This is really wonderful. I love how they got thrown off then landed back on their sleds. Super impressive stuff!
The timed rolling was amazing, and the usage of the same track for multiple riders was impressive.
I don’t get why so many people are notsubscribed. Whoever makes these put a lot of work into this. Not to mention the videos are awesome
Da Babbez I just got it in my recommendations, ok!? 🙃
Watching these line rider videos helps me appreciate classical music on a whole new level! Thank you!
Loved it !! Yes, they provide us with much needed laughs but the attention to small detail has to be applauded as this is what has "made it work".
I love how the riders match up perfectly with the music!
Believe me. This piece and the riders are like one. They don't slip at any point in time.
Thank you very much! We going to listen this Waltz next class, actually. Children gonna love it.
I like to picture myself as the the sledders, who so smoothly glide along artificial hills concaved by ones and zeros. I like to think that I too shall have a life filled with ups, downs, and crashes that others may view to their pleasure, and that each individual life, no matter how bland, makes its own piece of music that intertwines with the music of those we hold dear, forming a stupendous rupture of sounds that fills the mind with stimulating vibrations. And it’s during these social orchestras where I’d much rather go deaf and experience the raw and untainted pleasure life has to offer than plug my ears.
Beautifully said.
That’s deep
Wow.... Perfect timing! I really enjoyed this video 😁
Not sure how this ended up on my recommendation list, but I am sure glad it did! Absolutely loved this!
I love your videos. Not just classical music, but also a really good visual.
What a Lovely reminder of the Adventurer's 💞 Just the Right amount of Steps to the upgrade 😝 That has a Blueprint of Plans ☀ Maestro 😊
Thank you so much for creating and posting these! My class LOVES these videos and can't get enough!
Haha, so glad classes use these, it's really great to hear.
My favorite place.
Peace, comfort, relaxation and beautiful music.
Glad you enjoy it!
Super ! Genialnie! Najpiękniejszy walc !
This is art, I can't wait to see the next one.
Thank you for all this amazing art.
Brillante illustration de cette musique , qui réussit à nous émouvoir par la simple magie de quelques traits. Bravo. pour ce bel exploit.
Merci!
This is one of my favorite classical works, and I love it even more after seeing what you've done with it!
No hay valz mas bello que El walz No.2 Shostakovch.Es el que me transporta a la Extratosfera de gozo porque sueño lo imaginable cuando lo escucho.Gracias tantisimas por compartirlo a menudo.
This is the first time I’ve seen any of these and I was absolutely mesmerized! Bravo!! 👏 👏 👏
I can't even imagine how many hours of work one of these costs. Truly fantastic to watch!
Best music video of all times
I like the drunk sledding during the sad horn section at 2:25
*Trombone
I love the ending!! Awesome job these videos are my favorite
Thank you! This music brings back so many memories, omg ❤️
I had my eyes closed while eating chocolate and then this played. Boy oh boy what an experience
this breaks all laws of beauty. i love it.
Ive straight up just been watching these cause i love classical music
Haha, glad you like them. Plenty of them on my channel!
This is the greatest, most entertaining line rider video I've seen, and I've been binge watching all of them.
I am playing this in school right now and it was great to be able to see the part I play.
WOW!!! JUST "FN" WOW!!! The three sleds rising to the crescendo made my day. You are creating a wonderful aft and music form. THANK YOU!!!
This is amazing! Every beat is so perfectly timed with the visuals. Well done!!
Absolutely wonderful! And a happy ending.
I almost actually applauded at the end - masterful
this is so satisfying to watch !!!! and it's shostakovich, which is always a good thing. incredible work !!!!
I love this so much!! Excellent work!!
MERRRCI !!!
Merci! Thank you for your comment :-)
Best combination: great music and sports!
I absolutely love your videos, they're so calming and on point, just an incredible job done every time
This is brilliant - the kids will love it. They love betting which sleigh rider will win 😆
Brilliant! Glad kids get something out of it too 😊
This is so good, I love how the riders get back on their sleds and then finish at the same time right next to each other.
What a great way to visualize music
Man I don't think people understand how difficult it is to make these incredible line rider courses. When I was young my brother and I tried for hours to make just one course last over a minute, but the sled would always break. Major props to you for having the patience to make these courses not only last so long, but sync so perfectly to these great pieces.
What a comment - thanks so much! 😊
Another amazing video. 💖^_^
Mr. Buckley you are a genius.
