I'd imagine if all of these features were out along with every single currently available pokemon in the game and having legendary pokemon spawing in very specific real world places, and onky be able to catch 1. (Truly legendary) the hype of the game would've lasted so much longer than a few months

I've already seen people doing it. If you're driving in an area where you know has pokestops and gyms, be extra cautious, cause some idiot probably is driving and playing near you.

I've heard you can start with a Pikachu if you don't choose one of the three and instead just walk away. Let the game relocate your position. Do this *four* times Pikachu will be on of your starting choices. I wish I knew this when I started :( I'm not starting over for him now. Hope this helps someone who hasn't yet started, or is willing to restart. Happy hunting!
This video came up on my feed and Oh my God life changes in a flash 😭 those days were so nice, my sister and our kids will go out and playe, people will interact with us about where was a Pokémon and we will run before it despond. The only ones that keep playing is 1 of children and my nephew and me. People don’t interact anymore, the places that were full of players now is no where near as it was 💔
