I've followed this build since you got the body (and before that actually) and had no clue that W Motors gave you the plaque for the roof! That amazing! Also, while it may not be the high power car it should be... It's a million dollar car! I really do hope the bidding goes crazy and hits that million dollar mark! It's an amazing, unique car and the amount of work you and guys put into it is worth far more than whatever dollar amount it goes for.
I would not be surprised if W Motorsports buys it back for a huge amount and shows it off. They really did you kindly with that plaque
Well, they probably should at least bid some. But they're kinda the guys that already have some.
You guys are amazing and the W motors is equally as great with all their support, not trying to restrict you as the majority would have done. Excellent work everyone!
That's the biggest take away about W motors. Any other company might have sent a cease and desist. Instead, they offered help.
Hope it goes for big money, so you can continue in helping your students. Getting the blessing from the original manufacturer is icing on the cake!

If I had a hope of being able to buy this, I'd keep bidding until I was the last man standing. And aside from brakes (I don't care how fast it goes, I want to know it'll stop!) I'd probably leave it be, as a tribute to you and les Garagistes who built it. And I'd drive the hell out of it lol! Sadly the best I can do is to say you've been a helluva mentor to a lot of talented young people, and I hope the proceeds keep Genius Garage going for many years to come. Btw, who's the young man in the Cavalry Stetson? Only asking because I wear one too, so next time you talk to him tell him an older brother said "Scouts Out"!

This is so cool. So much respect to you and your team for seeing the project through. Also much respect to W Motors for showing its appreciation and giving its blessings. So many other companies would have issued cease and desists but W actually took the time to realize it could inspire the next generation of car builders with just that small bit of appreciation and encouragement. Somebody is going to get not only a piece of history but a labor of love!

To all the haters who said, "DURRRRRR the Genius Garage Lykan isn't a REAL Lykan." SUCK IT! YEEEEEEEES! I hope the auction pulls in the billion dollar hypercar money it's worth. It is very clear to me that this is about the people and their journey. The car was the tool to get them to the next level. I hope it sells for a substantial amount and keeps this program running for a very long time. To all of you - keep up the great work and always pay it forward.

I'm happy to see that the bidding (as of the time of writing) is already up to $120k. She's worth WAAAAAAY more than that, and hopefully it's a boon for Genius Garage to enable many more students on even wilder and crazier builds in the future. The nod from W Motors with the plaque is just icing on this amazing cake. Congrats on the build, and hopefully the bidding goes through the stratosphere =)

With the issuing and installation of that plaque, this car has become part of W Motors original production run. They have has accepted it as part of their production run, and thus made it the rarest Hypersport to have ever been produced!
It is number 8, with the history to back it up. Don't let that car go for less than $100M, it is that unique and that desirable!
If I could actually afford this thing... Every student involved in the build would get their own personal key. In town for the weekend? Take your car out for a while and enjoy it, you earned it.

I love how everything came together on the Lyken, and the support from W Motors. You gotta get back to the King Zero, and finish it like the Lyken... perhaps in blue? But make sure you have new leather and interior too. As another one-off, original... this can bring a lot of attention and $$ to Genius Garage.
As a PS: I think a lot of other car companies and organizations could learn from W Motors on how to PROPERLY support, encourage and assist Genius Garage (and other non-profits), the good will, and even shall I say positive vibes are worth more than their weight in gold to them.

It's crazy how quick this car came together, well It seems that way watching on TH-cam, although I bet it was exciting and stressful for you in this two year journey. I hope it brings in good funding for Genius Garage.
This is an irrelevant question, and I respect his privacy, but I wondered what the army mechanic (forgive me I forget his name) was up to? I knew at one point you said he wanted to go into coachbuilding.

@Casey Putsch - For tax deduction purposes to a 501c, generally a person can write off the difference between the donation and the FMV (or actual cost) of the merchandise received. A tax accountant is recommended, as this one will be a little tricky.
