    Ice cold assassin in the form of a tailor. It's interesting seeing such a humble demeanor but also a clear pride and confidence in his work. Inspiring.

    Ueki san makes suits for a lot of famous japanese entrepreneurs like Akio Toyoda. I also heard rumors that he made suits for Abe shinzo, not sure if its true.

      Possibly? I've never asked about his client list though I do know a few celebrities in Japan go to him.

    Mark, out of curiosity, how many languages do you speak? Is there a cut out interpreter for these videos in Japanese?

    • @markchodotcom
      @markchodotcom ปีที่แล้ว +23

      There is a cut out interpreter for the video, I only wish I were so fluent in Japanese. I speak English well, Mandarin and Cantonese passably, Japanese comically and French and Italian at a fetus level of language ability.

      @@markchodotcom I wasn't sure whether you spoke English well actually 😄 Lol jk.
      Great interview btw. Ueki-san seems very reserved and gentle. I like his stated reason for going to Italy: to learn why things look good and not so much for precise tailoring mechanics. Quite interesting.

      @@markchodotcom Hi mark. You look so good in this suit. It really fits you well . I know it's navy color but would u mind my friend if you do a video about it and where you got it. At least you could just tell me the adress of the store. Totally obsessed about it when first saw it you wearing it.

    Very very reserved person it seems, and perhaps a bit camera shy. You tried your best to get him talking but he really didn't seem to say much until he took his own creations to show. The line about Naples was interesting though, it's well known that Naples isn't famous for precise work, but it's rarely openly acknowledged whenever enthusiasts talk about Neapolitan tailoring.
    The unlined jacket looks great, and so does the unlined coat, but I don't really understand the point of an unlined overcoat. It's going to be literal hell to put it on over a jacket without help, indeed I find it's already not super trivial for lined tailored overcoats (assuming you are wearing a jacket ofc). And the purpose can't be to make it lighter, since we are talking about a long overcoat.
