Gorr the God Butcher is played by Christian Bale (Batman). The Necrosword is an artifact used by Knull the source of Symbiotes (Venom, Carnage, etc). 😮 Thor's new look is based on Thunderstike another individual with Thor like powers. 😂 Who is she? That's the Lady Sif (Jamie Alexander) Thor's remaining Asgardian friend. Eternity is a literal being in the Marvel Universe. Mentioned by Peter Quill (Star Lord) in The Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2. He is the living embodiment of Eternity. 😮 Russel Crowe was Zeus. 😂
Russell Crowe as Zeus was, I felt, not bad casting. They just didn't use him well. There's actually a deleted scene where he gives Thor a pep talk that was really good, shame it didn't make it in.
I would argue that it's better that scene was cut, because it just kind of goes against the story that was told. Remember, the whole reason Gorr is doing any of this is because the majority of gods (or at least the higher up ones) are kind of elitist pricks that put themselves over others. Zeus is meant to be the embodiment of that (which is fairly true to actual mythology, too). So having a scene where he is helpful to Thor kind of goes against that whole idea. Thinking that Zeus should be heroic is kind of missing the point.
odin originally forged the hammer a LONG time ago. to do this, he put a part of himself [the odinforce] into the hammer. this is why he was able to wield it and place a spell / ward on it in thor1 [whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of thor]. thor is odin's his true heir and part of the odinforce is part of him. so when thor talked to the hammer [between thor2 and ragnarok] while drunk, thor unknowingly used the odinforce to place a spell of protection into / onto the hammer- to protect jane. this spell activated when she approached the hammer and "called out to it."
ASHLEIGH: FYI he was just 'Thor' until one day when he was in the Castro District of San Francisco and he made the mistake of bending over to pick up a penny. Afterwards he was "mighty Thor"! 🤣
Hey Ashleigh, first time commenter (I have literally never commented before) and longtime viewer here; firstly, thanks for giving this flick a chance as the movie was not too warmly welcomed due to its abundant jokes + simplified adaptation of the original comic-based story. But, u were able to look past that while accepting and enjoying the film for what it is and that is a special feeling; liking something that is not as popular. I think I understand where different audiences come from. Second, I know Patreon is used for suggesting flicks yet I have never been on it but, I suggest trying the MCU defenders shows though it would take a while; be sure to look up its watch order if interested. Sorry about the wall of text, thanks for the reactions so far + reading this if ya did; jingle beans all the way❕
Gold was spilling out of the the gods thor and jane were fighting, in greek mythology gold is the blood of the gods. Thor is twice the hero now - he's a single dad to a parentless child too! lol corn but love it.
You mentioned watching Hawkeye not on the channel... are you planning to do the same with Ms Marvel, Moon Knight and Agatha All Along too? Second season of Loki?
According to the comics, every time Jane turned into Thor, it undid the little beneficial effects the chemotherapy was having, accelerating the cancer's progress. According to Norse mythology, the goats were Thor's primary means of travel, so their use in the movie is accurate to the mythology more than comic lore. And it never occurred to me that Kronan's are the same as Moclans in The Orville, being a predominantly single sex species. lastly, the goats crashing into the planet because perspective was messed up nearly ranks as high as Bruce going splat on the Bifrost in Ragnarok for pure, unexpected physical comedy. :D
I know people give this movie a lot of crap, but I really enjoyed it. It's actually my second favourite Thor movie. I love the entire backstory from Valkyrie (depressing and relatable) and Korg. I liked the humour (though I really understand it wasn't everyone's cup of tea), and the story itself had a lot of heart. The scenes with Mighty Thor were amazing, and it broke my heart a bit at the end.
I love this one, too. I think my husband and I have seen this one more than all the others except maybe The Marvels or the first Tom Holland Spider-man or Ironman. Lol
Hey, Ashleigh. I love your videos; you are always fun to watch, great reactions, and your open and unrestrained laugh is a true joy. Thanks for continuing with the Marvel Universe; this was delightful. Be Well!

They really messed up with this badass villain. I wish they made him exact look from the comics. Like this really should have been a more scary film but could have some comedy in it
Here's the thing. I didn't *hate* this movie. There was a lot to like about it. Christian Bale was great, there were some good laughs, visually excellent and so-on. It just felt like... how do I put this... It felt like the "ingredients" were out of balance. Everything for a good movie was there, there was just a little too much this, not enough of that, etc. This had everything it needed to be the best Thor movie, but it came out of the oven all lumpy and lopsided. It wouldn't have taken much to get it to where it needed to be. I think that's the real tragedy of it.
It's like a mismatch of three movies in one. I don't understand the idea behind making it that way? lol it's like three writers at war against one another trying to come up with a story. They probably should have been focusing the whole movie on Gor. The whole thing, he builds himself up, he amasses weapons and he make himself more and more powerful. And you see him kill one God after another. Then he gets to Thor. They fight a titanic fight. But then in a shocking moment, you have Thor actually renounce his Godhood and powers cause he is so afraid to die! It leads to the next movie where without a Thor, the hammer choose Jayne to be the successor.
The theatre actors are.. Liam Hemsworth - Thor Matt Damon - Loki (also a reference to him playing Loki previously in Dogma) Sam Neil - Odin This film really wasted both Gorr the character and Bale as an actor. They could have showed him butchering more gods rather than the (rather pointless) Omnipotence City segment.
- I think the City of Omnipotence part of the film wasn't really pointless, it established at least two things I believe ; #1). - Lets us see that the Gods are a bunch of selfish jerks who don't care and won't help #2). - Sets up for a bad guy introduction for a later film, because Zeus was mad at being shown up and embarrassed by Thor, so he is sending someone after him now. They have done this at least twice before off the top of my head I can remember, In Dr. Strange, Mordo at the end is now a 'Bad Guy' and also at the end of the 2nd (I believe) Guardians of the Galaxy that Golden colored Queen lady person wants revenge against them and sends the character Adam, if things continue along this path, there may be a big Hero Team VS. Villain Team battle being set up for us with all these subtle clever drawn out introductions of new bad guys. Probably be similar to Civil War, except this time the two teams aren't both "Good Guys" Just a premonition, but hard to say with Stan gone now, the movies may fizzle before we get that far into the storyline.
4:19 - This line from Ashley is absolutely, perfectly, and unintentionally ironic. It's art, truly! (I'll have to watch the rest of the video to see if the reason why becomes obvious to her)
They took 2 or 3 dramatic Thor stories from the comics to make this silly comedy film. It may have served as entertainment at the time, but it took away the dramatic weight of the following films. With so many jokes to mask the dramatic part.

The Goats were part of Thor's myth back in antiquity. Tooth-Gnasher and Tooth-Grinder. They were how he got around before the comics because he couldn't fly on his own. Flying screaming giant goats. Sounds legit.
The Vikings came after The Age of Antiquity.
Hahahahaha oh my god, that "Russel Crowe, who was Russel Crowe" was perfectly comedic.
Oh what's that film with Russel & Ryan Gosling as 2 investigators in the 70's, you need to watch that though, holy shit.
The Nice Guys, seriously give that a watch & tell me I was wrong to recomend it
She has already reacted to it. I suspect the reason she is so bad with faces is, that she is consuming so many movies and tv-shows in such a short amount of time.
Eternity is an Immensely powerful entity… rarely seen but awesome to see in live action… she it’s fun to see in animation to. The silver surfer Animated series
Gorr the God Butcher is played by Christian Bale (Batman). The Necrosword is an artifact used by Knull the source of Symbiotes (Venom, Carnage, etc). 😮
Thor's new look is based on Thunderstike another individual with Thor like powers. 😂
Who is she? That's the Lady Sif (Jamie Alexander) Thor's remaining Asgardian friend.
Eternity is a literal being in the Marvel Universe. Mentioned by Peter Quill (Star Lord) in The Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2. He is the living embodiment of Eternity. 😮
Russel Crowe was Zeus. 😂
"Were you in Color Guard?"😂😂
Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder are the names of the goats.
24:30 A courgette is a zucchini Ashleigh. I think you know what body part Korg was referring to.
Ashleigh: We get AC/DC in this?
Me: I love Led Zeppelin!
🤣
🤣🤣
😂 Spider-Man 😂
Thor imbuing the kids with his strength as the lighting branches out like Yggdrassil the world tree is great imagery.
Your insights and humor added so much to the movie. Your content is truly appreciated. Thank you for sharing, Ashleigh! 🧡
You know why i love this standard intro so much ? Because i never check the title or the thumbnail, i just see "Ashleigh Burton" and I click.
38:15 - The Laser-Eyed Bunny was my favorite!
odin originally forged the hammer a LONG time ago. to do this, he put a part of himself [the odinforce] into the hammer. this is why he was able to wield it and place a spell / ward on it in thor1 [whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of thor].
thor is odin's his true heir and part of the odinforce is part of him. so when thor talked to the hammer [between thor2 and ragnarok] while drunk, thor unknowingly used the odinforce to place a spell of protection into / onto the hammer- to protect jane. this spell activated when she approached the hammer and "called out to it."
33:01 This portion of the movie isn’t in black & white, it’s in very muted colors with an overriding gray tint. Big difference.
In the original comics, it was not apparent for most of the run that Lady Thor was Jane Foster, so they kept it a mystery much longer.
"Thor is just standing there nakey, and um... There's that." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
How is it possible to simultaneously give off school teacher and super freak vibes at the same time? Lol! Great reaction.
ASHLEIGH: FYI he was just 'Thor' until one day when he was in the Castro District of San Francisco and he made the mistake of bending over to pick up a penny. Afterwards he was "mighty Thor"! 🤣
46:42 AHH! MY EYES!
Sorry about the wall of text, thanks for the reactions so far + reading this if ya did; jingle beans all the way❕
Agree. This movie is a good movie, maybe not great, but still good wholesome fun. I liked all the humor, Thor is very funny in the comics too.
Love how you're concerned with Thor bein' single with that ring on your finger. xD
I think Ashleigh would love the humor in Ms Marvel.
"He's here! He's there! He's every f**ing where! Hercules!"
Loki
Is dead In this timeline. Also, the sword Is linked to venom in someways. it’s a long story.
Lol
@@lynnevetter I love The Marvels too. Another misunderstood Marvel movie imo.
Hey, Ashleigh. I love your videos; you are always fun to watch, great reactions, and your open and unrestrained laugh is a true joy.
Thanks for continuing with the Marvel Universe; this was delightful. Be Well!
Watching the mid credit scene before seeing Ted Lasso: Aw Neat, they're bringing in Hercules, that'll make Thor 5 fun.
Seeing that scene after seeing Ted Lasso: He's here, he's there, he's every-f@$king-where! Roy Kent! Roy Kent!
As everyone probably knows, in real mythology, Thor had two rams named Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr. This is, after all, a matter of general education.
Did I just hear that you've not seen Interstellar?????? Must watch!!!!!
42:36…Dwayne the rock (Johnson)🤣
OMG I just got that! LOL
26:10 PISH! For shame, Ashleigh... That's the wrong brother!
24:30 lmao, oh god this is gonna be good. A courgette is another word for a zucchini.😅😅
Saw the thumbnail and knew exactly what that face was for 😂😂😂😂
4:05 Alluding to more and more Gorr? ;)
Did you just call him Lian LOL
To anyone watching this, The hammer gets rid of the cancer temporarily, but it also gets rid of all the radiation and treatment. So if she ever wants to be rid of the cancer, she can't pick up the hammer.
Ashleigh: I don't want Jane to be dead
Me: Multiverse girl... Multiverse.
Gorr's daughter was played by Chris Hemsworth's real-life daughter.
Russell Crowe played Zeus
They really messed up with this badass villain. I wish they made him exact look from the comics. Like this really should have been a more scary film but could have some comedy in it
Ashleigh, I was totally expecting a comment about the Phantom of The Opera shirt. 😉
The screaming goats will never not be funny for me. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've come to the conclusion that we need a Mr. Rogers episode. Just one. With Thor guest hosting.
This is the film that convinced me to not see any more MCU movies, unless people I trust say that they're good. No more benefit of the doubt from me
You’re weird
10:20 I didn't mind the goats. They remind me of Prepotente from Dungeon Crawler Carl.
When Gorr’s daughter is brought back to life, she gain’s Eternity’s powers. She essentially is Eternity now.
Your constant simping for Thor was everything for me LOL
This is what happens when you give Taika full control, never give Taika full control..
Not only is Thor a dad, the girl is played by his real life daughter
11:13 that's Lady Sif from the first Thor movie.
Luigi the CEO butcher is a great name rewatching this in current times
Even Chris hemsworth had openly said he was disappointed in this movie lol
The theatre actors are..
Liam Hemsworth - Thor
Matt Damon - Loki (also a reference to him playing Loki previously in Dogma)
Sam Neil - Odin
This film really wasted both Gorr the character and Bale as an actor. They could have showed him butchering more gods rather than the (rather pointless) Omnipotence City segment.
I think it’s his brother Luke, not Liam
It’s not Liam as the theatre Thor. It’s their older brother Luke.
It’s ok, seems no one can get the Hemsworth brothers’ identities correct today, lol! 😂
In my defence, i didn't realise there was actually a Liam AND a Luke 😆
- I think the City of Omnipotence part of the film wasn't really pointless, it established at least two things I believe ;
#1). - Lets us see that the Gods are a bunch of selfish jerks who don't care and won't help
The Odin play actor was Sam Neill who was the captain in Event Horizon
The goats draw Thor's chariot in Norse Mythology
4:19 - This line from Ashley is absolutely, perfectly, and unintentionally ironic. It's art, truly!
(I'll have to watch the rest of the video to see if the reason why becomes obvious to her)
They took 2 or 3 dramatic Thor stories from the comics to make this silly comedy film. It may have served as entertainment at the time, but it took away the dramatic weight of the following films. With so many jokes to mask the dramatic part.
