Absolutely a miracle. My son had a brain injury they said he would always be infant like but hes 23 had a baby and holds down a full time job. Yes he struggles with memory but an absolute miracle
I too had suffered a severe traumatic brain injury in July of 2023. I was at work and I fell off the back of a golf cart. I was in a coma in the icu for 33 days and didn’t walk for over 7 months, mostly wheelchair bound for the whole time I was in the hospital. And I had to relearn how to walk, talk, how to eat food and even use the bathroom again! July 2023 - February of 2024 in the hospital. It’s been the longest, hardest year and a half of my life. Still dealing with pain every single day but I’m putting my best foot forward to kick this tbi recovery in the ass! Now walking on my own and making progress every day too!
Love these stories. I worked with traumatic brain injury patients for several years. I really enjoyed seeing the progress. Also best of all when they got to go home. It’s a long road. But well worth it. Keep up the progress Conner ❤
I am so glad that Connor has made such a remarkable recovery. In 2001, at the age of 14, my son also had a TBI. To meet him you would never know how severely injured he had once been. Unfortunately, he lost all of his childhood memories. We were extremely close before his accident, but afterward he drifted further and further away. We have been estranged for several years now. He developed a bad temper after his accident. One day (2011) he spanked his four year old daughter with a metal studded belt so hard that it left her bottom horribly bruised. He was also verbally abusive to me and his young daughters who he had custody of. (My son and his daughters lived with me at that time.) I had no choice but to report what happened. I didn't ask for it, but the judge awarded temporary custody to me until my son completed parenting and anger management classes. Once my son regained custody of his daughters he never allowed me to see them again. A few times the girls would sneak and call me and cry for me until my son put a stop to that. In Kentucky, grandparents can have visitation rights as long as the parents agree to it which, of course, he didn't. My heart aches for the son that I once knew and for my granddaughters. He is still horribly mean to them. TBI is a horribly injury. 😢
You can't blame him for that. It does't sound like you do but others reading might. I'm so sorry you lost the son you had and that the injury caused this. I wish someone could explain it to his daughters, and the judge. Please keep reporting as you know of things. It's heartbreaking, but you really have no choice. I hope some day you have a relationship with your granddaughters again.
What a blessing. My cousin was in a single car accident and suffered a TBI. This was 20 years ago. She will need care the rest of her life. It’s such a devastating injury. So happy for you Connor. 🩵
No he didn't 😂 he's stepping out into traffic, he didn't push anyone out the way. Then he blames it on a drunk driver😂 walking in front of a car vs a car running you down is two totally different things.
Wishing this inspirational young man and his family abundant blessings and all the very best and more today and everyday and throughout this holiday season. Thank you for sharing his story!
My brother was involved in an accident where a driver failed to yield the right away he was on his motorcycle. He was thrown 25 feet head first he was life flighted to the hospital with at least several different bones, broken and two brain bleeds. They didn’t know if he had a traumatic brain injury A lacerated, kidney punctured lung and a broken pelvis as well They didn’t know whether he was gonna come out of it because he was in a medically induced coma, they didn’t even know if he was gonna walk again he came out of a medically induced coma. Doctors told him that had he not worn his helmet he would’ve died. He actually surprised the doctors as well cause now he’s walking with no walking aids. Although he does have scars and metal implants inside, the doctors at the hospital were incredible
5:15 hit me so much. My daughter was given a big chance she would have permanent disabilities because i was infected with chickenpox while pregnant. I googled why the doctors were so worried. Please dont ever do that either. This reminded me of those days. She's now an honours highschooler doing pre university courses.
I fully agree, Connor! Making today a good day is the best way to go. I'm proud of you for how far you've come, and huge props to your family and friends (especially Mom!!!) for the love and support they have given you. Much love!
Conor, what a powerful life story that you have! You and I can relate. I got hit by a car 🚗 when I was 12 . I completely fractured my skull, blood clot in my brain and ripped my ear half off, also completely broke my leg femur. I was in a coma for 2.5 weeks. Since I am completely healed and living a full life now 56. I owe my healing because of prayer. Many people prayed. Don't miss out on Jesus. He is in the miracle business. Accept Him into your life. The Bible says, I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Philippians 4: 13
To have TBI and be functioning almost perfect again, is amazing. Absolutely great human being this man is! I really hope he gets Better over time, and is able to do the things he loved doing beforehand! I hope the person responsible got what they Deserved either way....
I am so happy that you were able to reunite with your biological family and so grateful to your adoptive family for raising such a lovely mature young lady
It can't be overstated enough that the whole human nervous system is a control system, the sensors, nerves, actuators and brain. One of the big things that the nervous system does for us is it strives to maintain homeostasis which is important for health and ongoing living. Just this alone should make you think about how the ingestion of medicines and drugs will inevitably have interactions with your nervous system. We take the nervous system so much for granted because of how all encompassing it is. It's only because of the nervous system that we have thoughts, speech, writing, reading, listening, walking... In fact, the developing Internet of Things is a prosthesis of the nervous system that can help with managing the earth's resources.
The fact that he still has the ability to sound coherent and produce full run on sentences while maintaining his train of thought says to me his neurons will continue to make connections and learn again. It wouldn’t surprise me if his speech and cognition just improved from here on out
This guy is a warrior! Damn😳! This guy is tougher than me! And Mom great job! He also has a since of humor! And you have a great family! And late Christmas 🎄 And happy new years!!
He goes to college to study the brain, then gets into a car accident which causes his brain injury! That's no coincidence...I'm glad you're healing well 😊💐
That's just a coincidence. Many people go to college to study a teaching degree (teaching is explicitly about using the brain) then they get into a car accident that causes a brain injury.
I lost my brother when I was 21 after 4 years of hell . He went from nursing home to nursing home and a doctor at Wilmington hospital in Wilmington Delaware killed my brother. Pete was also in a catastrophic drunk driving crash.
What do u mean b4 momma? He still is a extraordinary person! My cousin has had a similar experience. It's alot of work but the progress is sooo amazing to witness! Absolutely agree with the hear something good everyday when your in it! Love this story! Thanks so much for sharing. My cousin is still working on speech himself but the progress is so amazing!
Didn’t break one bone wow. He has such high spirits. Please if you’re seeing this drink turmeric everyday and get your omega 3 fatty acids. Golden flax seeds and a couple organic pasture raised boiled eggs every day. Will dramatically help your brain
Warrior. Have a great life buddy, cheering you on from my corner of the World.
Absolutely a miracle. My son had a brain injury they said he would always be infant like but hes 23 had a baby and holds down a full time job. Yes he struggles with memory but an absolute miracle
No, just science.
Miracle
Miracle
He looks so much better now. He’s so healthy looking!
😢😢😢😢😢
Love that his sense of humor is still intact.
Good luck, Connor!
You're doing great!

He unexpectedly saved that girl’s life. What a coincidence from student to patient ❤

❤❤❤❤❤❤ Still a fabulous kid. The injury didn't squash his enthusiasm for life.
That was really lucky.

My son was 15 when he was hit head on by a car. He too has a TBI. His short term memory is a real struggle!
I am so happy that you were able to reunite with your biological family and so grateful to your adoptive family for raising such a lovely mature young lady

My brother Justin was hit by a drunk driver in South subs of Chicago. He was killed. I miss him everyday
The fact that he still has the ability to sound coherent and produce full run on sentences while maintaining his train of thought says to me his neurons will continue to make connections and learn again. It wouldn’t surprise me if his speech and cognition just improved from here on out
❤sending love and warmth .
DON’T DRIVE AFTER DRINKING!!!
It’s not worth it, and there’s no excuse with rideshare apps.

I wonder what the brain injury card that he carries looks like 🤔 I had a TBI in 2012 and have come a long way since
I’m healing from one also.

He's incredible! I want to be his friend.
God bless you ❤🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Every inspiring story
There is no reason behind anything.
I'd follow him if I knew what social media he's on❤
What a story!
Good insurance makes a difference!
He has about the same voice as people in relatively advanced-stage SLA (lou Gehrig disease) have . All the best to him !
He goes to college to study the brain, then gets into a car accident which causes his brain injury! That's no coincidence...I'm glad you're healing well 😊💐
Sure because every single person who wants to study the brain get's a brain injury. 🙄
That's just a coincidence. Many people go to college to study a teaching degree (teaching is explicitly about using the brain) then they get into a car accident that causes a brain injury.
Well that’s exactly an example of a coincidence
God is good. You're amazing, both you and your mom. ❤❤❤
I am actually sad because he got hurt right after my birthday
