You have said a very powerful point. As a stepmother, you will notice that you are being involved when it come to doing hard things like cooking, cleaning or rather taking care of everyone in that family but no one involved you when it comes to things like making decisions specially that involves money. Thank you Carthee for that point.

I'm also looking forward to hearing from a step dad perspective in a blended family.I feel like society has double standards when it comes to financial support expectations....and yes, you make this blended family seem very smooth and seamless 😊

I’m a new stop mom and really love your videos on step parenting. They are all on point, well spoken, bring up something that most others don’t and very reasonable and honest.
When it comes to inheritance, I’ve really seen it as an even split between my future bio kids and my step son. Split equally between my bio kids and my step son, aka all my kids.
No matter what I want to leave a legacy behind for all my kids, and that includes my step son.
It would be a very different story if my husband had multiple children because I didn’t choose to have that many kids and I don’t want to short change my kids from their inheritance.
But since I only have one and we will family plan based on already having one kid to provide for, then I’m comfortable with an even split between all my kids.
Very different story if my husband had one more kid than he does now.

Thank you Cathy for this informative information. In an addition question and if the the other childrens they don't have a mother my be she passed away or she is nowhere to be found is it okay to spend on them open to opinions.

I said this as a child that grew up in the mix. I wish it was discussed, so a lot of expectations are clearly outlined on all sides.
Thank you for your courage and wisdom.
