Bought a hardtail T-Bird 4 years ago, great guitar, awesome value for the money. Still my favourite, despite being the cheapest guitar I own.
I've got two T-birds, and it's scary how they can upstage some of my guitars that cost me 5x as much. Totally underrated guitars.
RJ is sofa king good. He's about the best guy to demo a guitar.
I saved up for a year to buy a Les Paul. Went to GC to try one out. Left there empty handed, then ordered BluesBird (Antique Burst) the next day. I love my Guild. This one looks and sounds fantastic
I bought my Starfire IV because of RJ.

I get worried anytime RJ demos a guitar. Im convinced he could pick up a broom with guitar strings and it would sound good.
Being a guild im pretty sure most guitarists could get a decent tone out of this guitar, but RJ makes it hard to judge. Hes that good a guitarist.
how do you decide between the HH and the regular one? I'm 70 years old and never owned a guitar. Might as well do it now before I die. I like the looks- I haven't a clue what the HH is but it sounds a bit different than the other one. Which should I buy?
HH refers to the 2 humbucker pickups. Generally this gives more of a rock oriented sound. The other version of surfliner has a humbucker with 2 single coils I think. The single coils are what will sound different, maybe more strat-like in some settings. Just depends on what sounds you want.
The humbuckers are the bigger rectangles usually because they have two pickups in one used to cancel out noise. This particular guitar let's you split the coils though, which means that you can have single coil or humbuckers in the same pickup. Pretty cool feature. It's on sale right now for as low as $250

Anyone know if it handles well in c standard?
Good question ..... that is what I would tune it to. Just ordered a set of strings from StringJoy for my Epi Dot to tune C to C. I tried their baritone set 12 to 58, but with locking tuners plus String Butler, a 58 is too thick. So I just ordered this custom set: 11 14 20p 30 42 56 I have an acoustic with similar gauges. 56 is OK at C, but in drop tuning, a 58 would be better. On an electric, it seems others get away with a 56 or lighter. This Guild intrigues me ...... almost want to go deeper in debt to get it! Reverb has it at $269 right now
It sounds absolutely fantastic and ridiculous value too but that pickup switching seems like it would be a pain in the arse.

I don't know why they don't give you the facts when they try to sell these things. I think that the neck pickup is pushed back a bit because it has 23 frets, but I am not certain.
It's one of the only things and makes this guitar different than most other humbucking guitar. That and the pickups of course but there is no way this company will tell you the specifications of the pickup - I am sure.
We should all just stop buying guitars until they tell us what the specifications of these guitars are.
