- EARLY EXIT IN FA TROPHY
Leek Towns journey in this seasons FA Trophy ended at the first attempt with a meek performance and narrow disappointing 1-0 defeat at home to fellow Northern Premier League outfit Mickleover Sports courtesy of a second half penalty by Dylan Edwards.
Still missing a host of players through injury; such as Billly Reeves, Alex Hurst, Tom Scully and Brendan Daniels the Blues were forced into a further change with Ollie Haywood cup tied Taylor McMahon came into the side at left full back. They did have Ollie Shenton on the bench returning from his own injury absence where he was joined by Tim Grice with manager Josh Brehaut choosing to start with on loan youngster Diego Edwards up front.
A notable absence from the Mickleover line up was Leek’s nemesis over the years, Andy Dales, but even without him the visitors still had enough to win an uninspiring game that is hardly likely to live long in the memory in the watching 303 spectators.
