You're giving me so many great places to check out when we make our next trip to Ireland, and in the process making my heart long to be there more than ever. All the effort you're putting into each and every aspect of these videos shows, well done!
Thank you so much for you very kind words, one aspect I've been very keen on is promoting this amazing country that you also got to experience last year. The more people I can showcase this wild land to the better. I'm very happy you enjoyed the video and can't wait to see you back, it's just a pity I had some much on last year.
What a great video. I am a direct descendant of those that fought in that battle, with generations of my ancestors buried at Dunboy. This video is a great honor and tribute to them and all Irishmen and women who have stood up. Will be following all of your productions with interest.
Thank you so much for those amazing words. I've only made this history one so far but I've already filmed everything just need to get more time and edit them. Thanks for subscribing when I decided to do this walk I couldn't believe that every child in the country didn't know what happened and the events that occurred.
@@MountainMikesAdventures Appreciate you taking the time to respond! Go for it man--beautiful videos full of heart and passion. What an amazing country--I don't know if I have seen a better showcasing of Ireland.
@@MountainMikesAdventures Other point--it is vital that the history be told and understood; you are right that it is a shame that every child does not know this story, so worth telling, and thanks so much for taking careful time to do such a great job. Very excited to see all of your work.
@@MountainMikesAdventures yeah. Bere island where I first learned to sail with Glenanns as a teenager 29 years ago. This was 1st time in Wavedancer & 1st time since '92. Anchored in lonehort harbour, mooring in st. Lawrence cove Bere island, anchored in Dunboy bay and rowed over to explore. Then up to Glengarrif for our 25th wedding anniversary. Saw tonnes of dolphins it was fantastic.
Thank you very much, I was very happy with the drone shots tried not to overuse them also. If I had put this into the hiking video it would have slowed everything down but glad you enjoyed.
Hey man I’m an O’Sullivan from New Zealand, I still have lots of family in Castletownbere. I found out about this when I was a young boy still think about it to this day..thanks to our Spanish allies that tried to help. God bless
Great to hear, it's been amazing hearing from descendants from all over the world. Sadly this history isn't widely known for some reason here in Ireland. I was hoping with these video I would change that a small bit.

Excellent Michael. Really brings the siege of Dunboy and the Dursey massacre to life and sets the scene for O’Sullivan Beare’s epic march. Many thanks
Thanks Dermot, exactly what I was trying to do. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
