For all those out there in the world watching this video the one part that was skipped over and not shown was the paperwork. Dave covered this very well on the Blackhawk video but for reasons I don't understand not even mentioning it on this video.
The entire warehouse could be worthless (or only good for salvage) IF there is not supporting documentation for EVERYTHING. Each and every component and part in that warehouse needs a parts certificate BEFORE it can be used on an airworthy aircraft. The fact that many of the parts and airframes came from south of the border is EXTREMELY risky as they may not fall under FAA maintenance requirements. I'm not saying that these parts can't be made airworthy but what I'm saying is that without documentation the part or airframe has to undergo extensive testing and certification. Which is UNHOLY expensive. So that 100,000 part just became a 500,000 part. It gets even more expensive with Helicopters due to the high tolerances and loads these components undergo.
Last but not least a big part of the story is that most of this warehouse came from south of the border. I WOULD STRONGLY advise reaching out to DHS/HSI to see if everything was imported legally and has all of the documentation to show taxes and other fees were paid at the Port of Entry.
If its too good to be true it is.
Wish I lived in Utah and could volunteer to help on this as an A&P. But as an A&P DO NOT ACCEPT ANYTHING you aren't prepared to certify as airworthy or does not have parts certificate or documentation. EVEN then for critical parts I would absolutely require NDT inspection before returning to flight.

The worst part is paperwork and airworthiness certs etc. This dude doesn't look like he was great on the paperwork side of things.
To be quite honest, they're gonna end up weighing in most of this stuff for scrap, or upcycling it as fancy industrial arty installations...... which will make a ton of money cos there's plenty of exotic alloys involved.

I’m also an A&P and Gary is spot on. Especially bringing Joe in to review. I also managed a class 4 aluminum part 145 repair station and can tell you right now the value for aviation components is not always easy to price. Parts networks are global, paperwork (8130 certificates) is critical, and the “budget” buyer for “serviceable” parts is actually a very small pool. Also log books for X registered aircraft (Mexico) were very hard to bring up to airworthiness standards. One thing I learned was that technical Spanish was harder to find a interpreter than expected. There is a huge real estate component here. The speed at which you can sell the parts needs to outpace what you are going to pay to the Landlord to hold the stuff in the warehouse (and that is a decent industrial warehouse). I'm super stoked to see how this goes. Part II please!

If a deal sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Seems the owner is at the end of his rope from sitting on all of this inventory for so long with minimal movement. How does ANYONE in their right mind take 10-15 million dollars worth of parts and say $300,000 takes everything??? Something shady there...Just my 2 cents.

It's all about having the resources to sell it that makes it so much more valuable, and Heavy D has a team for all that. In the end he could make amazing profits, and I would love to see that main helicopter he was talking about flying...it would be a huge accomplishment with financial gains following the entire process. This is indeed a learning experience. It also looks like a good deal, at first blush, for you. The inventory of what is there will take several people at least 3 months, full time. 10 years from now we'll probably be watching you buy warehouses full of parts for your private fleet of rescued 727's or something. Awesome.

A great find Dave and 200K is definitely NOT a small chunk of change but for all you're getting my opinion, even without any Helicopter experience is CERTAINLY a great deal 💯

I know nothing about helicopters but for some reason I was thinking $240k would be my initial offer

@@AngryStoner I remember when they were talking secretly by the helicopter I heard something like 1 million dollars. And I'm like oh is that how much this is all going to cost. LOL

@AngryStoner I was thinking myself with everything involved in that warehouse at least 7 million so I was kind of thrown back at the offer of 200 K myself

Dave if you pull off the deal - I am an FAA DER and develop and support a lot of rotorcraft repairs for mechanical components, powerplant components, transmission components, wheels and brakes and engine components. I also have lots of contacts for any structural and other needs.

@Throw Away I agree I don't like to point fingers but my gut tells me he is a little off. And from being in that world I can usually tell when someone is using.

Timberland and Ericson keep good records. Columbia Helicopters in Aurora OR and Evergreen in McMinnville OR. Both places could be interested in some parts
