- It was a very weird and creepy feeling, the sound of someone walking in a place we had to rappel down into that has been lost for century's! We tried to enhance so you could hear and experience the lost souls of this mine! May we never forget those who have paved the way for us to have such great things in life now!

That was, incredibly interesting! The young fellas knowledge, excitement, enthusiasm, and obvious sheer joy doing this is certainly contagious.
I absolutely love this. Having spent much of my working life scrambling around in and on old buildings, I can fully appreciate the sense of wonder at seeing ancient toolmarks like the ones in this mine. It really does give you a connection with the people in the past who created them. The strange sounds are also most intriguing. I've encountered a few peculiar little moments in deserted buildings that I absolutely couldn't attribute to anything - but in a deserted mine the sense of oddness is even greater. Who knows what it's all about, but it is fascinating.
God imagine the hard work and time that went into digging these old mines out by hand. My back hurts just thinking about it. and those sounds, i would have been gone like a shot.
I always think of the months and years of back breaking work involved in digging these mines. It’s incredible. And people who work office jobs today think they’ve done a hard days work!
Sometimes some old miners cannot left the mine forever .
I am a guide in a old german Mine and at the weekends morning we had to go for controlling the way through the mine all alone no one is there than .
Belive me sometimes i am not alone when i am walking through the mine

When you heard the strange noise an orb flew across the screen
Sounded just like water dripping to me. The echo makes it easy to sound weird.
Been in a lot of mines and that does not sound like anything I have ever heard. Especially dripping water.
I'm an x miner and yes iv seen ghosts lights and unexplained knocking on many occasions!!

My Extreme Claustrophobia was in Overdrive watching you get through those tight channels, I can't even imagine getting stuck in there. Crayzee!!!
Every now and then the echo from low vocal frequencies is amazing.
This is an interesting mine.
So, yes heard them people talking, footsteps, and there were spirit orbs coming out of the drift as well. Nice and echoey in that one. The coffin shapes of the drifts is unique. Thanks again mates and have fun exploring.

Classic Welch Bladder Bats. You have nothing to fear boys.
The coffin levels in this mine are much larger than the Derbyshire Lead Mine coffin levels eg. Hillocks Mine and Knotlow Mine that are only crouching height, barely wide enough for your shoulders, and only 6 inches wide at the bottom, one boot width basically.

Wow that sounds proper weird! I've only ever once heard something unexplainable underground and it was in a mine that had been blocked for a unknown amount of time and had been uncovered just a couple of days before. We concluded in the end as the mine was quite shallow it was sound from above ground that was somehow working it's way in. As there was a fair few of us we searched the entire mine, which wasn't that big to make sure there was nothing or nobody down there. Sure made my blood run cold when we first heard it though!
All the orbs at the end that’s crazy
Possible orb for the ghost hunters 9:03 starts bottom /mid left of screen and flies up to the middle of shot. Not an insect maybe dust? Use the full stop and comma keys to edge thru frame by frame.. and another (2) at around 9:36 starts in the top of the void and drops down and comes diagonally left/centre to the camera and another straight afterwards! Sceptics will say dust but it doesn't look dusty to me....
didnt think dust went so much up and down... if they felt the cold chills or a breeze then the dust shouldve travel one way...

that's like the oldest of the mines in our area. We do have a Roman level, but I've not explored that yet. Love all the pic marks. Be a great place to record an instrument or vocals with that echo! It's a must to watch this with headphones on, the sound is epic. Lol, I was half expecting a jump scare at the end!!

You had water in other portions of the mine, and you also noted how loudly it echoed. Also appeared to be a dam on the floor of that last coffin section you looked down, that could provide a burbling little trickle.
A fantastic and informative explore as always. The noises at the end were very strange and unnerving, can wait to see more in part 2.

Hello you say the sound was behind you right. Then later you turned around and went toward it right . As you are leaving right.so in the 2nd part you will be walking toward the sound later .One way in then one out right ?? P.s the waste rock area must have some size to it right. But if they used a cart there must be a area more flat or the cart put it in to a bucket or barrel to get the material out.cjd wash state 🤔

Hard to tell from the vid, but it sounds like wind in the tunnels, might be a narrow passage to the surface somewhere thats letting air circulate?
No wind outside very clam day also we where a long way in and no other passages, it came close then just stopped. So no idea
that's what I initially thought myself...could it be the wind? but it seemed to be timed too close together to be the wind gusting. Have you ever experienced any sort of thing like it before? I wonder if underground mines could create a sound like that due to air moving inside and or outside. I wonder if there are any records of deaths or accidents at that particular mine. really interesting and creepy. usually I feel pretty safe when im exploring because i Always carry my Colt 45 and I'm usually the most dangerous thing in any given place...that said, if that was a ghost or entity my gun would be useless except for dispatching myself in a last resort. muhahaha!

Nice!!! I've been watching videos on USA mines for months and TH-cam recommended your channel to me. Its pretty amazing to see this history from hundreds of years ago all done by hand! They certainly were very hard workers back then. I am not claustrophobic but i could never squeeze myself thru these lol
Question: since this was all done by hand, how far could they chisel through on a daily average? I understand different rocks have different densities and such...

I loved this firstly because it's how I imagine the Roman mines by me to look, from the description the farmer, who had been down there have to me. He had been told that there was possibly someone living down there from one of his employees, so went to check it out. He told me, he went in and it was tunnels going off in all directions and pitch black, he said he went in about twenty to thirty feet before deciding if there was anyone there and they attacked him he was defenseless, plus if they were mad enough to live down there and not causing a problem leave them to it. He was getting out of there ! Secondly, this is the only mine you've been in and I felt strangely really really sad. Crazy, what's that all about ? Then you both started hearing that weird noise ! WOW !

I worked underground in southern Arizona when I was 18, the boss sent me down the main haulage to straighten track with a Jim crow tool. I was the only one in there at the time and I was midway from portal and the main shaft probably 70 feet in either direction, l just finished straightening a piece of track and was bent over unscrewing the tool off the track when I felt what I thought was my bosses hand grab my shoulder and squeeze really hard. And push slightly down like he was trying to let me know he was behind me and trying to squeeze between where I was working and the rib, the pressure released and I stood up and looked around and no one was there at all, I looked in the alcove where there explosives were stored checked the shaft station an looked down the 2 drifts that ran in opposite directions and I walked out to the portal ( more like ran) as I got to the portal my boss was stepping out of the office/ cookshack. I asked him if he had been in there and walked past me and he said no, and asked why? I told what had happened and he told me when the mine was originally operated 3 miners were working a heading and had been killed in a mine accident. And he had experienced something similar to what I had. 40 years later I still don't know what that was to this day.
@@donmarion8808 Southern Arizona! It's been years for me too but I used to live in Tucson. I wish I had been into this stuff back then because I'm sure there are a lot of old mines all over the place. I'm in Canada now and wouldn't venture into the abandoned coal mines we have around here. The notion of spirits and other phenomena in abandoned mines is certainly interesting. Would be something to just sit in darkness and silence to see if anything strange would happen.

I have not gotten goose bumps for a long long time. It would only happen when I was experiencing something paranormal and on 2 occasions a Sasquatch as I live on the Pacific West Coast British Columbia in Canada.

Very narrow tunnels, before the invention of the ore cart on rails.
They was a spirit there with you. At 8.49 an orb passed you. I think that’s what they call them. A little white ball of light moves past you . Again at 9.05 and 9.18. There are others later.
As soon as you say you hear something , ay 9.05 you clearly see a light anomaly travel towards you. Its not dust because you are breathing and dust would be travelling away from you. You have encountered paranormal activity!

The old lead mines which opened up as barite mines at Strontian Scotland. I was told by one of the modern miners some weird goings on in the old parts.
It could be some Cornish knockers that went up to Wales and they liked it there so they stayed and now thay hunts that particular mine
