I haven’t watched this in forever and I’m screaming. I’m literally so stupid. I forgot how classic you are when it comes to my TH-cam experience. Mark, you’ve helped me start my art career and I still use lots of methods I learned from watching your videos without even realizing it. The nostalgia I’m getting is reallllllll
Nice looking dragon Mark. My friend asked me to draw a dragon for her. Even know, most of my drawings are black and white, like yours,(I love shading), she asked me to make it colorful. I can draw a dragon no problem but I am not sure about colorful. Would you have any tips on colors. I really don't want to mess up the realistic looking black and white dragon and make it a cartoony looking dragon. You know what I mean?
This is actually a pretty good tutorial. Not only do you keep the tutorial generally simple, but you also make sure to explain what you’re doing, your method of doing it and your opinion of what works. I’ll be using this tutorial soon, since I love drawing and I love dragons. I’ll more than likely comment how much it helped
Hey man im in quarantine currently and finally decided to start drawing its just a thing i never got to but now i have the time and let me just say this was an amazing tutorial.
You make drawings like these so easy for 11 year olds like me! I remember when I was 6 I sat down at my table, got my tablet, and watched you draw. And now, about 5 years later, I still watch you to this day.
THE TWO PENCIL METHOD! That’s the book I’ve been waiting for (well not really I never imagined you’d write a book about this). I’ve adopted your #2 pencil with a black prismacolor for quite some time just cause I like the ease-of-use, how are you can I need into many suppliers, and it doesn’t smudge as easily as charcoal. I will buy this one as soon as its available. Awesome.
I came across this video when I was looking for something else centered around drawing pictures, which I have decided to get into here recently. So much fun to watch. Thank you for putting it out here for us. Thoroughly enjoyed it, plus it gave me a few ideas that I haven't even come close to thinking about yet.
In Jan 2021 I was diagnosed with auto immune syndrome, along with double lung infection and major kidney issues, and I thought 2020 was bad! I've always been an outdoor person and enjoyed God's vast creation and natural beauty. Now that I am limited physically to get out and roam the back 40 I have started drawing again. I am going to be 68 in April, haven't drawn a picture in 40 years but was inspired by your channel to give it a go. I draw almost every day now! Some good, some not so good but it's a good. Thanks for the tutorials, keep up the good work! Jer. 9: 23-24
Wow Mark I really enjoy your style of drawing and your technique to creating certain lines which create certain perspectives and really help gain some idea of how to approach drawings like these in a similar fashion... I also found it extremely interesting (especially in the case of a dragon) how changing different looks, shapes and sizes of different features of the dragon changed the style of what the dragon looked like overall. Great video and also very relaxing might I say!!
Fun fact: Toothless, the dragon from How To Train Your Dragon, was infact designed to be more like a mammal then a typical lizard style dragon. He was based off a black panther, and his actions in the first movie was based of the actions of the directors at the time previously adopted kitten.
This is the video that got me really into drawing, at around 2014/2015. Guess this is a repost, but thanks loads mark crilley, my 9 year old self was fascinated by this video
you are the true artist. you are the one who makes cooldrawing with toturial and slows down for us to draw. my teacher is also bad at drawing but you are pro at drawing hope you the best.
congrats on the book . I ve been carving for a few years not that good at it but getting better, looking to carve a full blown dragon with wings un folded hoping you can help thanks for the video.
Woah this tutorial is not that hard to follow ty for that I see this and I am like I haven't drawn in 2 years and now I'm about to draw this yet I tapped it and I drew a good enough picture for a technically beginner artist ty😀
Thanks for tutorial brother, Finally I can draw a dragon even though it's not as similar as what you made😂✋, but over all, thank you, my friend, greetings from Indonesia✋
Mark Curley all I got to say I've been watching you since I was 14 and you are a very big inspiration you are in my opinion the Bob Ross of manga and I always enjoy watching your videos.
Wow i drew soo well, thank you soo much, the speed drawing and everything made it soo easy, even though it looked hard as heck to draw, you've earned a subscribe from me,i know it's not much but amazing work,i love it,ur videos are great. I drew this for Chinese New Year.
This was so easy to do I loved this video when I saw the comments saying that it was easy and they were able to do it I didn’t believe them but it was actually so easy my dragon came out awesome so if your like me who just likes to skip some parts this video is worth NOT skipping
I did a dragon and it was really good, I tried making it face the other way and it was really hard. Ended up drawing the guidelines then taking a photo and flipping it. Could you make a tutorial to do this dragon head but with a full body and also how to pose the head and body any way you want because it’s really hard for me to change the direction the head was facing
Hey :) so I've been drawing for about 12 years, but - drum roll, please - I never actually learned the basics. Now hear me out! I learned how to draw as an eight year old by watching Naruto and going off of that. I never had any lessons and my family was waayyy too poor to afford internet capable of really doing anything, so I was basically on my own. The first time I ever learned anything from an actual artist was my 6th grade art class. Which would have been good, if my school wasn't in an area where the community as a whole didn't care about fine arts at all and hired the first (and probably only) person that applied to the job. Needless to say I didn't continue taking art for the rest of my middle AND high school career. I opted to try and hone my skills all by my lonesome because that's all I could do, and I've payed the price for it. So here I am, an artist that's been doing artsy things for over a decade, that never learned the fundamentals. How do I draw functional backgrounds? How do I create dimensions? How do I make my people not look like they're floating aimlessly through an off-white void? HOW DO YOU DRAW HANDS AND FEET? I've tried to teach myself how to do all those things AND I've watched other artists do them, but most operate under the assumption that the viewer already knows the basics. As previously stated, I very much do not. Please help 😭
I love your advice and methods and I seen you are going to Japan my Grandma is Japanese and when she was a girl she worked at a bomb factory during WWII
