  • For more soaring inspiration and practical advice, and to get my free 14 day Conquer Course for entrepreneurs, come on over to www.shetakesontheworld.com.
Have you ever just wanted to fit in more? Have you ever wished people just got you and understood what you’re all about?
If you’re sitting there thinking yes, then chances are good you’re surrounding yourself with the wrong people.
In today’s episode of She Takes on the World TV, I'm going to talk to you about the power of being a black sheep and why fitting in just might be getting in the way of your success. (Trust me, I've got the pantsuits to prove it.)
I’m going to share some hard-earned advice, including how to lovingly set boundaries with well-meaning friends and family who just don't get it and the number-one thing you must do now to stop feeling like the black sheep in your group, plus one BIG DECISION that made all the difference for me when I feel I was feeling like a total failure at fitting in.
    VIDEO
Jim Rome, an entrepreneur and one of my favorite motivational speakers once said something that really stuck with me…
You really are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.
So my actionable for you, my fabulous black sheep, is to ask yourself: Who am I spending the most time with right now? Are these people raising me up or are they dragging me down? Do I feel understood and accepted or desperate to fit in?
Then take one some small step to find YOUR tribe, like looking for a Meetup in your area, or finding a conference or event where you’re likely to meet like-minded people. Be sure to share what you plan to do in a comment below.
Climb out of your shell a little and I promise - you’re going to find people who feel like your people. There are lots of us out there who can’t wait to meet you and love you just for being you.

Black sheep here 👍 I cut off my narcissistic mother and covert narcissist sister almost two years ago and I've never felt better and appreciated in my life. I'm 43 and should have done it years ago. I can finally be who God wanted me to be after all. These people are toxic and you will have to endure their warfare all of the time. I'm no longer allowing them to disrespect me and dump on me anymore 👍😊my entire immediate family, husband, son, and daughter have been able to Excel extremely in our lives without them around! God bless everything reading 🙏

This is a part from my upcoming book: At lunch, I sat at a table all by myself with one other kid who I barely knew. Right behind me was the table with a whole bunch of girls and guys that I knew, but for some reason I thought they were too cool to sit with. Even though they knew me too, none of them invited me to sit with them. Once in a while at lunch we would have a 3rd kid come sit with us named Jerry, but he was always suspended for weeks on end. I don’t even remember what the kid’s name was who I sat with. We talked about video games once in a while, but for the most part we were just happy not to be sitting completely alone.
I know exactly how it is to feel like a black sheep. But I think the black sheep make the world what it is. They are the ones who aren't scared to create their vision, deal with the stress and risk of being an entrepreneur, and doing what is in their hearts. They are the ones who are okay with not running with the pack and not being normal.

I grew up with barely any friends, i only had a handful of friends during my childhood most of the other kids at school didnt like me and i always got bullied verbally and physically. i always sat alone at school during lunch, sometimes i would try to sit with other kids but as soon as one of them noticed me coming they got up and left to go sit somewhere else. this was 10+ years ago and even throughout my high school years when i was 11 years old it was the same i was alone all the time. always last picked in groups in drama class and sports ed, im 17 now and i will go to a party with lots of people but i find it difficult to be around lots of others.

    • @ericmwenda6197
      @ericmwenda6197 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@Baily masters sorry for that. I too experienced that and I do even now. But let me advice you. Don't give in to fit in the wrong group. If they don't like you, leave them, your happiness doesn't depend on them.
My personal experience:I was isolated in kindergarten, early primary level, high school, college I found myself as an misfit, in church eight years ago, and now recently I left another church and went to another where I am embraced. I dare say even at home I am somehow a misfit.....matters made worse considering that am the only boy in a family of five.
But I have never underperformed despite being isolated. I pursued architecture and now am creating a high end project for a foreign client who highly rated my work.
So what is the lesson I have learnt. ....people isolate you not because you're bad, but because you're uniquely gifted, and they can't have what you have.
Yes I agree sometimes you feel vulnerable but you're too strong for destruction. Then at one time, people come to realise that they can't do without you "the black sheep"

This is inspiring and informational. I am the black sheep in my family. I spend the most time with them because I love them. My mom is a great inspiring person and gets me. My father is not so much interested in what I have to say, since he continually has an argument about anything. My brother, who is my twin (1 minute older) is probably my "best friend." We have similar interests, but he seems to move away from mine and concentrate 7-8 hours PER DAY playing video games. I want to inspire him to live more ambiguous as we are in our early 20's; go to bars, be social and have a network, etc. HE gets mad that I do this and now I can't really call him my best friend because of mutual frustration. I say it that way because I've had many friends growing up who are all great; although I've moved further and further from them since I was 15. Moving so much I typically have no friends and no confidence to make any because I don't know where and when I'm going to move to next. I am the black sheep because my ideas are different than sitting in front of a TV from morning to night on a daily basis. I get ridiculed (by my father and my brother), and my anger upsets my mother and sides with the others. It's frustrating.

Ever since I got married my sister has been fighting me, now I'm a Pastor's wife but she always say things as if shes the one whose dating a man of God...she influences my mother and controls them, bully them and making it look like I'm the one whose after her. Everytime we argue or in misunderstandings my mother and everyone at home distances themselves from me and my kids...her child is the only child who has access to my parents as a granddaughter but my kids I raised them alone without any support of my family and it's so painful and exhausting knowing that I have a family I dont even know why they hate me. I blocked my sisters on fb and WhatsApp and my mother is quiet. On top of that I want to write 3 books titled "Parents where art though", "Rejection is not my portion " and "Not Easily broken" I pray God restores or rather prepares them for my journey because now I am a mother to other rejected men and women that I have to love, nurture and embrace as my own...this video is really helpful cos its exactly what's happening to me. And I refuse to be a victim of a narcissistic family, instead I have a story to tell. The world need to hear my story to heal someone whose sitting under the bridge not loved but rejected.
