I get why The lady at the Costco was upset because she has two children but once they offered to get her stuff she had no reason to be mad anymore
Agree to a point. Did you ever have anybody shop for you before? You possibly get bananas that you don't want because they're overly ripe or you get the wrong items, chicken has too much fat or expired items? I'm not looking to stand in a parking lot with my kids and go through everything to make sure that they did it right and didn't miss anything. I actually don't have children and I am 43 years old; I do have a stepson who is a juvenile insulin-dependent diabetic. I want to be able to look at what I'm buying and make sure that it's not expired and it's up to the standards that I want for my family. The fact that she had only two children and is a single mom, you would think that they would have a heart and let that woman do her shopping and leave. I'm sure they would have stayed six feet away from everybody and I can guarantee you there were other people in there without masks on. I'm not saying it's right, but I did feel for her because she's a single mom and she paid a membership to shop there. The kids aren't buying it, she's buying it. Too much BS going on with this covid stuff where people can't even get food for their family. I'm sure she could go to another market, but she obviously paid to shop at that store. Now she's taking five kids in I can see a problem even four for that matter. Two kids you can make sure they keep their hands off of things and away from other folks. I wear a mask when I'm asked to but I don't agree that healthy people should wear masks. I believe people that are susceptible, elderly, or are sick should definitely have a mask on to protect those who are not sick. anyway not looking to argue just my two cents on the whole thing.
Jenny 8675309 see I get what you’re saying but for the safety of other people you have to follow these rules that’s why they came up with ways to get your food sent to your house or you have to go to other stores because I get it it really sucks and I hate it so much. And for parents it’s not ideal but scream in a parking lot ain’t gonna get your point across.
@@Jenny_5309 I wouldn't let someone else do the shopping for me. I like my bananas green with just a bit of yellow, if I get banas that are too ripe, I cannot eat them. I like most of my fruit not too ripe. I like tp look at what I buy and read labels and the employees don't have time for that. Still people should wear masks, one can be healthy or not have symptoms and transmit the virus to someone who cannot handle it.

The employee said a few items she could grab she needed to grocery shop. Also it’s hard to tell someone what to grab for you and the brand specially produce.

I completely understand with what the second lady was getting at. If you're a parent you will understand. Hopefully they change that ridiculous policy. What if she is a widow or her husband works as truck driver to groceries stores around the country. People shouldn't assume she's divorced. I agree with her until she started yelling in the parking lot.
I agree..feel for that woman at costco. people who are not empathetic to her situation are the ones w no children. Costco needs to adjust that for single parents. But she sounded like an ass yelling like that in the parking lot.
For the second lady like even that employee at Costco said that she could shop for her so that she doesn’t have to leave one of our children out.
Rules like that don't usually include children. Children are almost always an acception. I personally think it's messed up they wouldn't let a mother and two children shop for necessities. As long as the kids stay with the parent, it shouldn't be a problem.

My dogs bark often when they are outside in the yard, and people walk by, or my neighbors let their dog out. But I yell at MY DOGS! It's not my neighbors fault that two of my dogs are territorial. However one of them knows the command "Neighbors," which helps. But the little one? I think is brain damage. He's cute af but he's a real vicious thing through the fence. He is a product of inbreeding, so 🤷🏼
But that's MY problem, not the neighbors problem. Like I tell the dogs "They're ALLOWED to be there!"

They don't have to do this," and I chase anyone inside who won't shut up! I also clean the poop in the yard Every Day, because my neighbors didn't sign up to live next to a poop factory pile! No no no they did not. Only on the winter when it freezes to the ground I don't pick it up. Then in the spring I roll up the hay matting I put down in the fall.

I was a single mom with 2 kids and worked full time. I had no husband to help with anything. Ex left and no child support. I had no family that would or could help me. I was on my own.

I’m with the single mom. There are times when exceptions can and be made to rules and I think this is one of those times. I was a single mother of two children and I know how hard that can be. No it’s not Costco’s fault that there is a pandemic but it is their fault that they were unreasonable.

Ashley Lynn it might be, yet they are allowed to make whatever rules they wish as a private business. I feel for her as a single mom needing to get her shopping done. These times are hard on all of us. Next time she’ll know to call ahead to places to see what their rules are or do her shopping at places which do curbside pickup. We’ve all had to make adjustments. Someday it’ll get better.

I have been shopping with my kids many times with no problem. With my husband having a membership, and myself being the second person, and had 3 kids, and never a problem. It is per adult, and no where in my membership did it say it included kids having to be members. As far as social distancing, that is bull, you can keep 2 kids next to you just as you can at Walmart or anywhere else.

I understand the single mom's struggle especially if there's no way of having a baby sittter. If that store won't let you in though then try other stores but then again it depends on her location. Maybe that's just me but oh well.

Im a single mother of 5 kids. You are alone to be father and mother, you are doing it all. And often, as it is with me, there is NO other person to look after the kids, thank God my kids are bigger and can stay by themselves now. They should let your kids go with you. I would have turned and go out, not to go every back there again. But I would have worn a mask, my kids would stay close to me and also wear a mask. Sometimes single mothers don't have a choice, they could make it a little easier for single mothers. God knows our lives are hard enough.

Some people, actually have medical reasons, why they can't wear masks. Kids rearly pass the virus to adults, so the Costco manager is wrong that it is for safety. You also cannot go anywhere, there are conflicting rules, all dumber than the rest. It has a 99.98 survival rate people.

That 2nd Karen she got on my nerves she had a few options to get groceries she could have went somewhere that allows more than one person with you at a time, she could use the Instacart app & have it delivered. I'm a single mom too I do what I can to get what we need cuz I don't have anyone to watch my kids either but I work around the crazy mess where there's a will there's a way & I find a way
I'm sorry but that is not fair that you cannot have your kids accompany you if you're a single mom. Thats discrimination and she is protected by race and economic status. Thats wasnt fair and I would be hot as fish grease.
@@PeacocknRose I agree with you & on the other hand how do we know if there wasn't something said before or afterwards as to why she wasn't allowed to shop there but I don't know the rules & regulations of that store I couldn't afford to pay for the fee to be a member. One thing she could have done before driving all the way over there was to call & ask or look online to see what the rules were. I have made sure that I find out what the mask rules are for where me & my kids go before going there
@mister me I can't afford child care either but I find a way around the rules & regulations of places just like my son is needing tubes in his ears but since hospitals are only allowing the patient & the parent inside I'm having to wait till everything calms down before he can go do that. I know how it is to not be able to afford child care or anything like that I'm a single mom of two young kids
me yes I don't have any close friends my mom is in a nursing home my brother died in 1987 so basically with family it's just me & my kids
@mister me all I'm trying to say is she could have handled it differently. She could have called the store to find out what the policy was before driving 2 hours over there then she could have had a backup plan like going to a different store that allowed more than one kid with her or she could have used Instacart or other apps that delivers the groceries to her. I have done that a few times esp when stores weren't allowing people inside to shop

I’m so tired of people saying covid is fake or not real. I have so many friends who have lost loved ones from it. I have loved ones who work in hospitals and are forced to stay away from their kid’s for their own safety and well being to keep working to help those needing them. I currently have covid. For over a month now. I’m very lucky the worst of it only lasted about a week for me but I’m stuck not being able to work and struggling to make ends meet to provide for my own family. It’s a hard time for a lot of us out here whether you’re directly affected by it or not.

video #2 costco was the karen. not the lady wanting to shop. enforcing a nonsensical policy that does nothing to stop the spread of the virus. and yes aok it is absolutely ridiculous. all she did was point out how illogical and hypocritical that policy is. the reason you don't care is because that policy does not directly affect you.
you know people who are fighting the virus? what you mean? you know people who are mildly or moderately sick, who have flue like symptoms? or you know people who are on their death bed in the hospital? because catching the flue was just a normal everyday thing before 2020.
lastly i am a little disappointed for someone who usually has great empathy. you don't seem to understand the struggles of a single mother.

Nah they offered to shop for her. She made it more difficult than she needed to. It’s as simple as that. Regardless whether you agree with someone or not a store has every right to make rules and regulations that they see fit for any reason they want to. It’s the way it’s always been.

@@veronicagarza7627 that isn't entirely true. there are lots of things stores are not allowed to make rules on. specifically if they discriminate against a group of people. allowing equal access means just that. everyone is allowed the same access. someone with kids should have the same access as someone without kids.
not only is limiting people per membership discriminatory, it also does little to accomplish its intended purpose. unless they also limit the total amount of people in the store at once.
costco made that choice because they did the math and figured they could allow more purchasers in the store this way. so instead of doing the far more responsible thing of limiting the total amount of people. they chose to discriminate against single parents. because it was better for their bottom line.
now with all that being said. they obviously are allowed to enforce this rule. (mostly due to all the hysteria.) the only thing people can do is not shop there if they don't support it. (or you can have a frustrated protest on your way out of the parking lot. like the lady in the video.)
the sad reality is the costco's and the walmart's save people too money so you would be hard pressed to find people that will go against them.
sub sonic It’s a membership based place. She chose to drive all the way there when there were other places to shop closer to home saving money on gas. Is it unfortunate that she has to go thru this? Sure. But that’s life. With everything going on and as a single mother she could call ahead and ask about regulations or look online. As a single mother it a her job to make sure she can get things done. It sucks. But it is what it is. Most membership places limit the number of people per membership allowed in at once as it was before everything going on. It’s not discrimination. That’s their rules based on the membership they offer/sell. And in any membership it will state they can change their regulations and rules at any time as they see fit. You buy the membership then you agree to their terms. Whether you like them or not🤷♀️

Even tho the single lady may have bn a lil manic at times but I honestly felt bad for her. Single parents dnt always have someone to help them out... ESPECIALLY N this time of crisis. Lots of them live n different states or the family members may b deceased or handicapped. Membership or not the lady should bn able to shop for her kids as long as they were all wearing a mask. Sure... she didn't represent herself well but 2 wrongs dnt make a right. I believe the store has a bad policy right now and the lady should have shown a lil more composure.
Yes I agree, that shouldn't be a policy for 2 kids and one parent. Just because it's mandated, there are exceptions. Fuck it, i would've handed her about 45 item grocery list and told her my kids and I will give her 1 hour to get it done

I had an incident with a Karen, she came into my job with no receipt trying to do a return but our policy says if you don’t have a receipt you’ll get the lowest price in store instead of the price you paid. She got mad at me and started to yell for my manager.
True Story: I am a barista at a small, woman owned (you go girl!) coffee shop. On my front door and on my register there is a sign that says, "By the order of the Governor (I live in Ohio) you MUST wear a mask. No mask = No service"
Yesterday, I had a line, everyone social distancing, and there were about 8 in line. In the middle of the line, there is one man, standing without a mask. Normally, I would say something when there are less people in the room, but I didn't this time. When I finished the order in front of him, they stepped aside, and he came forward.
"Do you have a mask?"
"No."
"You need a mask."
"For a coffee?"
"You saw the sign on the door. You see it here."
"I don't need a mask I have a medical exemption." (I am NOT a fool! The percentage of "medical exemptions" to wearing a mask is literally .02%.)
"You need a mask. No Shoes, No Shirt, No Mask, No Service."
"WE NEED TO STOP THIS AND FIGHT THIS TYRANNY!!" He was shouting, all the way out the door!
Then I noticed the guy I waited on before him was still at my counter.
"Thank you for doing that." What else was I supposed to do? Another guy I had already served came up and thanked me and added money in my tip jar.
About an hour later the male Karen wrote a bad review for us on Facebook, but it was immediately shot down by another customer that had been in there. Apparently the guy ignored the customers that told him to wear a mask before he even came up to my counter.
