As a whole, Ravyn Lenae's latest studio album feels like something fresh, and that is rarely a negative for a blossoming artist like herself. While her debut may have been the more convincing record overall with its sleek production and uniform sound, Bird's Eye warmly embraces the idea of taking an artist with a gripping personality and putting her in a setting unique to anything that she has done in the past. While some may view that as a disappointment, and many surely will considering the warm reception received by Hypnos, it feels hard to knock on Bird's Eye for trying something new, especially when it is as consistently successful as it winds up being.
