    I took the Peak Design 20L Everyday Totepack on a 2-month trip with carry-on luggage only. I used it as my personal item and daypack. It housed all of my electronics, valuables, water, and other things that I wanted to keep close to me and stow under the seat in front of me.
    I also used it for day-trips, overnight excursions, trips to the co-working space to work, and more.
    I LOVE the look of the pack, and from a sustainability perspective Peak Design has my vote. But I must admit I have a couple of beefs with the backpack. Will I travel with it again? Watch my review to get the scoop!

    Nora, I love your videos! As a constant international traveler myself, here's a disturbing new trend at Security/TSA lines around the world. Not everywhere, but too darn many to suit me. They're eliminating the conveyor belt tubs! So, nice jacket? It's going on the grubby belt directly. Cell phone? If you weren't smart enough to put it in a pocket or your personal item, it's going directly on the belt, but first those roller bars. That terrifies me that my phone and I could permanently part company on the other side of TSA. Backpack tightening belts get caught in the conveyor belt; tuck those in wherever you can. I have TSA precheck, so that helps in big American airports, but in smaller airports or even Munich or Vienna, it's a pain if they've eliminated the conveyor bins. Be prepared ahead of time with your smaller stuff or valuable jackets (NEVER wear white!) and take that stuff off and fold in your carryon before you get to TSA.

    • @NoraDunn
      @NoraDunn  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Wow - I didn't realize they were doing away with the bins! If anything I've noticed more and more of them - including the requirement for even luggage to go in the bins.
      That said, since filming this video, I had to put this very totepack on the conveyor belt - no bins - and it got some odd blue stains. Luckily they're faint and on the back side, but still.

      @jenniferknight2010 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think it's a universal thing. Denver is eliminating them but not San Francisco. CDG still has them but not Munich. 😏🥴

    Well, Nira, I am deee-lighted to compliment you on the efficacy, thoroughness and mindful enthusiasm of your review of the Everyday Totepack 20L. Hi Nora, love your energy! Been looking into this bag. How do you think it feels on your back? It doesn't have back padding so was worried if it'd feel unconfortable after a while. Would love your input. Thanks!

    • @NoraDunn
      @NoraDunn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! I actually find it very comfortable. The back of the pack itself isn't padded, but the straps have a perfect amount of padding and articulation. When I've taken it on trips I've had it pretty loaded up with gear so it was pretty heavy, and it's one of the comfier daypacks I've used.

    Hello! Thank you for your video! I just started using my PD Tote bag today! I have a small question, does it get dirty easily and is it easy to clean the bag?

    • @NoraDunn
      @NoraDunn  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Because of the light colour, it can get dirty depending on the circumstances. Most of the time though I find it cleans up nicely with a wet cloth. I hope you love the bag!

    Great review!
    When the backpack is empty, does it get completely flat? It seems to have a structural shape that holds it up straight.
    I am interested to carry this backpack flat in a small suitcase and take it when I arrive at my destination.
    Cheers

    • @NoraDunn
      @NoraDunn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you enjoyed the review!
      Unfortunately this is not a bag that will pack flat gracefully. Even without the flexfold dividers it’s pretty rigid.
      Is there any reason why you couldn’t use it as your personal item though? That’s what I do.
      For a packable backpack I’m a big fan of the Sea to Summit one because it’s super ultralight and packs down to smaller than a tennis ball. But it has zero structure or rigidity to it.
      Here’s a review I did of it: th-cam.com/video/Xp4S0f3pXXg/w-d-xo.html

    Thanks for the great review! Is it possible to use the external carry straps as luggage pass-through to attach to a rolling suitcase? Also, I don’t see an obvious place to put my phone and wallet…

    • @NoraDunn
      @NoraDunn  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great question! Yes, you can use the external straps as a pass-through, though it's still not ideal. As for your phone and wallet, there isn't really a logical place or specific pocket for them. You could use the dividers in such a way to create a little bespoke compartment for them though, and one accessible with the side zips if you like.
      That said, I wouldn't ever keep my phone and wallet in a backpack (since it can be a security risk); I have them in some kind of cross-body bag with anti-theft features, or in hidden zippered pockets (like a SCOTTeVEST).

    • @catzanimationz2128
      @catzanimationz2128 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@NoraDunn Thanks so much for a quick and informative response! Some backpacks have a hidden zippered pocket facing the wearer’s back for valuables - unfortunately not this one, although I can see how it would affect the streamlined look.

    • @NoraDunn
      @NoraDunn  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@catzanimationz2128 Yes - I like backpacks that have a zippered pocket close to the body. This one doesn't...but you're right it's such a unique look for a backpack, they would be hard-pressed to include such a zipper on this one.

    How is the white color holding up? I’ve been wanting to get this bag but I’m concerned about the white looking really dirty

    • @NoraDunn
      @NoraDunn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question, Lindsay! I was also worried about the off-white color. I'm pretty rough on my gear, but it's actually still looking pretty good! The material is pretty easy to keep clean with a damp cloth. And the bottom of the bag is grey so it doesn't show dirt as much (since the bottom of the bag gets dirtiest from being set down).
      They do also offer it in black if you'd prefer.

    hiii, thanks for the video,its very helpful, i am looking for backpacks these days, and yesterday , i found this one, its so pretty and functional at same time, i just a bit worried about the white color, is this material easy to get dirty, how to clean ? what do you think ? thank you a lot, oh, and i like your bubbly personality :)

      hi, me again, i live in thailand, its very hot everyday, i noticed this bag dont have back ventilation , do you feel hot or uncomfortable wear it in summer ? sorry, i have too many questions

    • @NoraDunn
      @NoraDunn  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great questions!
      So, unfortunately yes, this colour can get dirty over time. I put it through the x-ray machine at airport security and it came out with strange marks on it. It's pretty easy to wipe clean with a wet cloth, but I haven't been able to get all the marks out.
      As for the back ventilation, you're right - it's not super breathable. That said, in really hot weather I have never worn a backpack that doesn't make my back sweat! Because of the design, this one doesn't take up a large amount of space on my back, and the straps are comfortable.

      hi @@NoraDunn here is my user report , haha :) i have been using the tote backpack for about 3 weeks , you are so right, the handle just cant stay together ! i bought a similar color leather bag handle strap, not perfect but its convenient to use , so i dont need to worry about the handle caught some tree branch 😄 i have mix feeling about the shape, on one hand i like it , it is pretty and hold the shape,always stands ;on the other hand it holds too well, so my bag never can get smaller like normal backpack , always very bulky. another one is the top shape , very rectangle , at beginning ,i always bump on trees, poles ,people, walls when i walk in a small space . btw, the first day i wore it, i wore a indian hand block print and natural dye kurti, it is purple, and now my bag back is also purple😂, i wiped , still has some color left. overall, i quite like this bag, and it is raining season in thailand, big rain almost everyday , so far all my stuff is dry inside .
