Der Ingi Firstly, this is a song with a very prominent religious theme. Secondly, the singer is known for having made very very homophobic comments. Lastly, people just preferred other songs.
He's homophobic, and yet his performance and song are extreeeeeeemely gay. Also, the whole thing is unbelievably cheesy. The song sounds like it's from a Disney movie, and the way they tried to make it look like two different people were singing was just ridiculous. :D A good voice isn't enough to make up for a bad song and an awkward performance. :P The girl from Romania also had a great vocal talent, but theirs didn't win, either.

He has a very unique ability to sing both from his throat and his stomach. While he is not the only one who can do this, there is no doubt that nobody else can switch between them in literally one second as demonstrated in this performance.

So according to public votes he was 9th but the jury votes rated him among the worst 4 performances in the Final?!!!
If anything his vocal abilities should be enough for them to put him in top 10 as well. I can't believe that jury thought that amazing singer singing a decent song deserves to be among the worst rated performances. If anything considering how challenging this song is and how well he sang it I expected him to rate him even higher than the public. But what do you expect from jury considering their votes stopped Il Volo from winning in 2015 in one of the best Eurovision performances ever.
I think Croatia should find even better song for Jacques and make him come back again and try to do better.
And time to let people decide the winner again.

I understand the point you're trying to make StarGirl, but it makes no sense to me in the case of Croatia's entry. The Eurovision Jury voted Australia top 4th or 5th (can't remember) and Australia's entry was the most boring entry this year. Sure Isaiah Firebrace's voice is a 10 out of 10, but his act was boring and uninspired.... he just walked around the stage really slowly with some pictures of himself in the background, no dancers, no instrumentalists on stage... and at the end a little bit of fireworks. Australia's act was a winner for American Idol but not Eurovision: at Eurovision we expect more than just a pretty voice. Yet despite the jury voting Australia top 4 - 5 for having an amazing voice but boring act, they punish Crotia for having an amazing voice and an amazing act? It makes absolutely no sense. Croatia's song was beautifully sung, original and had the Eurovision feel we have come to expect. (Sidenote: Why the heck did the jury vote Australia above the United Kingdom? The UK singer sang just as well as Australia and her act was a million times more interesting! I think Australia is getting a sympathy vote each year because it's Australia and everyone likes Australia. Guy Sebastian was the first and last truly brilliant Australian act, Guy truly deserved to win Eurovision that year... all subsequent Australian acts have been 10/10 voices but boring choreography and visuals and lack lustre lyrics)

But this is the beauty of Eurovision. I don' care how the public or the jury votes. I get to enjoy 36 (or whatever it is) acts and be exposed to music and voices of many different cultures. I love it. So good. Personally I voted for this song, and the Italian song too.
