The record albums are from the 1960s. The old TV is 1950s. The portable TV on top of the older TV is 1970s. That's not an answering machine in the bedroom, it's an old police scanner. The afro photo is late 1960s to mid 1970s. I'm guessing this was grandma and grandpa's house. The photos are their children and grandchildren. Gram and gramps likely passed, and nobody took control of their home. Could still be in the family, just not lived in. Canned goods usually are good for 2 years. The expiration date of 2008 would suggest they were purchased in 2006, which would likely be the last time the home was occupied. The 1985 calendar was probably kept for decaration after it expired. This is a fantastic explore.
Herb Alpert (age 89) is a famous singer/trumpet player who founded A&M records. His album “Whipped Cream” was released in 1965. The title song was used on “The Dating Game” when guest players were introduced.
My heart broke the memories Grandma was loved it truly shows The sacrifices the family made unimaginable Great footage thank you for the tour Stay safe
The Family who lived there way back looks very organized. I feel that they are also well behaved and very religious Family😢. So sad to see this house once a happy place but now turned out abandoned 😢
Love this house. I bought that Herb Alpert record Album from a mail-order record club in 1964 when I was first married at 19 years old. Now I am almost 80 years old. This sure brings back memories. If I were young again and had the money, I would buy this house, send in a professional cleaning and preservation crew, move in and live in it just as it is
Very happy to see another time capsule house video. I hope you got a spooky prison, funeral home, asylum, or something scheduled for halloween. Be safe rick.
Great video, beautiful old house but I wonder about the lack of cobwebs. I live in an A-frame and i have to get a ladder almost once a year to get rid of the ones above. And I kind of think you weren't the first explorer in there. At least no graffiti or vandalism. Thank you!
I bet that room fan would still work if it had power. SO different from the appliances of today that are constructed to be temporary instead of lasting indefinitely. ❤🎉
My Dude, if you don't know anything about firearms you should not touch them. Unless you broke open the action to check the action that gun is to be considered loaded. Even if you check the chamber every firearm should be handled as if it were loaded. Review the 4 Cardinal Rules of gun handling, please.
Man u can write some good stuff. That one piece you did in the power station in kensington was some damn good amazing writing.. you talked about how the world is dying and nobody cares. Anthony Bourdain and Hunter s Thompson would of been proud
Why would you ask why people have mothballs as they're older? Why? Because it protected the stuff in the home especially like blankets and things like that from decaying and and moth and rats and stuff like that. From eating the linens and stuff they didn't collect them. It was a choice to have that in your home. It has not been abandoned since 1985. There is febreze deodorizers in there which I'm currently looking at and that's something like in the last maybe 5 to 10 years and the food at 2008 anytime before that. The person might have passed away but the house was not abandoned since 1985 nice try and just because the calendar says 1985, it doesn't mean that person didn't like the cats on the calendar and used it just to fill that space. I've done something like that. Oh wow look at that. Yes, the green thing that's on the top of the shelving unit is a beautiful hair dryer of the '60s lots of people like to use those
That's a fantastic house inside. Now your fingerprints are all over that gun. 7:20 that's sofa looks like the 80s or 90s. I'm loving the *last supper* picture.
Grandma's social security check probably paid a lot of the bills it's probably why they moved. Grandma was the corner stone of the family. My mama knew how to penny pintch and pay the Bills and eat to. They simply couldn't pay the bills and moved. Women are a lot better at managing money.
That TV box was the 1st cable box, with 1 movie channel. I don't know about where she lived but in the midwestern US the movie channel was called "channel 100."
i could imagine somehow how fine life they would have been spend there , i wonder nobody came to claim their belonging being siblings or family members . and i wonder no theif has entered in that house yet .although its a piece of heaven and time capsuled .
When I was 27 I developed a need to have the smell of mothballs around me when I was pregnant with my youngest child. I don’t know why. When he was born I no longer liked the smell. But the homeowner here likely used them to ward off snakes, moths, and other pests.
Great video BUT no offense....One thing that I had noticed in the beginning of the video, u had seen the rifle laying on the couch....Now, I can honestly admit that I DEFINITELY DONT know much about guns/rifle's.... BUT one thing that almost EVERYONE knows (*OR at least SHOULD KNOW) is TO NEVER PULL/PLAY WITH THE TRIGGER (as you had darlin'!!😉) **SAFETY FIRST ALWAYS!!!!
@@Amber-jb8su yeah, i thought this cause the first seconds is one of the most important metrics of youtube, if your video keep the attention on beginning without people leave, the youtube recommend more
I would say 2007 or 8 …. Did you mean fuses … those things that looked like bullets ? I’d say that picture with the Afro was from mid to late 70s ( most popular years of that style for males good find but wonder why no one in her family came to retrieve items or maybe sell the place !

Grandma kept a beautiful, clean home...She took pride in her home...it shows...
Yes, my grandma had the same kind of house.

My heart broke the memories
Grandma was loved it truly shows
The sacrifices the family made unimaginable
Great footage thank you for the tour
Stay safe
Thank you for locking up
I am also thinking like you There's a lot of story in the walls .How do these people leave the home of their love?
Never put your fingerprints on any gun unless you own it and are registered to it.
No such thing
House definitely wasn’t abandoned in 85, I’m guessing more like 2006 with that food expiration date and those cans of air freshener.
The Family who lived there way back looks very organized. I feel that they are also well behaved and very religious Family😢. So sad to see this house once a happy place but now turned out abandoned 😢
I bet the sofa and chairs were gorgeous when new, I've never seen one those colors before ❤🖤
Total time capsule for sure! This house has a cozy feel to it! Very awesome video as usual! 👍❤️🤘

I used to volunteer at a used bookstore😍 that herb albert record was insanely popular
Sweet explore!!! Such a surreal property. Great commentary too. You definitely gave it justice. Keep killing it Rick!!!💯🔥🔥
Guaifenesin is used to relieve chest congestion.
Moth Falls kept snakes and wrapped stuff out of your clothes and out of your house. They didn’t like the smell smell. Some people still do it today.
Moth balls also kept moths away from chewing on clothes.
Don't think I've ever heard someone reference a cardinal as a red Jay before. Good explore!
What an intriguing house. Such a pity it is left to decay. It is always sad to see photos of people who are no more. Thanks for the tour.
Grandma kept a clean home
My grandmother used mothballs in her closets to keep moths from getting on her wool clothing. She was born in 1900.
My mom still does this today
We used them in our house too when I was a kid. I always thought they stunk.
Very happy to see another time capsule house video. I hope you got a spooky prison, funeral home, asylum, or something scheduled for halloween. Be safe rick.
Amazing explore thanku for taking us with you, so much left behind 😏
What a great time capsule thanks Rick How grandma must have loved and cared for her home The living room coaches were very cool imo
The gun you found the inscription says Iver Johnson Arms and cycle works. They were around from 1871-1993

I got a bit of an anxiety surge watching him mess with the trigger just laying on the couch.

Mothballs are used to repel moths, silverfish, mice and other pests. So sad this house is left with everything in it
Herb Alpert good music it's a good album the person had.
RICK THIS WAS A AMAZING FIND BUT A SAD STORY INDEED thank for uploading u rock
Fried apples!! ❤ I bet grandma made some pork chops with apples!!
I don’t see how families choose to let their loved ones possessions rot away .
Yeah so much for a loving family. They were too lazy to even clean out the fridge.

Definitely an interesting find! I’m surprised it hasn’t been vandalized.
Thanks Rick for this wonderful virtual video! 👍
Wow, if that went off it could have gone through the house. Don't pull the triger.😮
That's a fantastic house inside. Now your fingerprints are all over that gun. 7:20 that's sofa looks like the 80s or 90s. I'm loving the *last supper* picture.
Fairly certain that was a police scanner by the bed
I enjoyed this one more than your last 2.
I love the old houses that y do
That's was their first TV.
Not a rifle. Single shot 12 gauge shotgun.
That green thing that's on top of that cabinet is a old hair dryer

i love to see this back back memories
Anyone else notice the lack of spider webs inside the house?
Probably because of the moth balls!
i mean, bring back memories...
That TV box was the 1st cable box, with 1 movie channel. I don't know about where she lived but in the midwestern US the movie channel was called "channel 100."
As a kid in the 80s we had those cable boxs in ohio as well
Looks like a motorized antenna control
@@sugarplumenigma4850 The antenna controls like that (box style) had antennas on them also.
Moth balls keeps mice away
Thank you for locking back up when you leave
That green round item on top of the dresser in last room was a hair dryer.
Rick- I have something cool, Palisades Mall in New York is closing down when it does do you think you can explore it?
How the heck did you find these places?!?!?!
Why are these abandoned houses cleaner than mine?
That Round thing was a hooded dryer. I had one in the late 60's?
Those were fuses on the table, frank in Oswego, ill
My bad, they came out commercially in1927 but programs were scarce.
The medicine I think is cough medicine
Dude that was a shot gun ,from a Tennessee girl
I love yr video so much
You can’t see the whole jar of pennies
Medicine is for coughs and congestion
Dim heaters are gas like a gas stove
Wow clean
1960's TV came out in the 50's. Radio was popular that's why there's both.
Where are my phones are good to keep moths of this out of your clothes
i could imagine somehow how fine life they would have been spend there , i wonder nobody came to claim their belonging being siblings or family members .
and i wonder no theif has entered in that house yet .although its a piece of heaven and time capsuled .
Hi 🙋♀️ have you ever thought of doing sleep meditation or audio books ? Your voice is amazingly soothing ( especially in your voice over 15:39 15:41
Thanks, I haven't really thought about it but who knows. Maybe so.

That was an Old Iver Johnson single shot 12 gauge.
That tuning thing for the TV was to turn the antenna outside to get reception on the TV
Nice house
Nice and clean 🧼🧽🧼
❤❤❤❤❤

Why do you do that u no that stands even I gets sick smile.
Who would leave that rifle behind
I agree I don’t feel it is too bright of an idea to handle a gun you do not own
That is a Zenith TV, those were made during the mid 1950s
oh, wow...i love this....
Looks very clean is it even abandoned??
How do you know that everyone died ?
It’s incredibly more likely that the family just abandoned the house. The title is clickbait in a way.
@@Amber-jb8su yeah, i thought this cause the first seconds is one of the most important metrics of youtube, if your video keep the attention on beginning without people leave, the youtube recommend more
moth balls keep mice away.
Too sad
Couch n chair are covered with tapestry I think
Very old shotgun
👍👍
Ot a TV from the 80tys or 90tys .I had one similar to that
I wish you had checked the fill date on the medicine.
kinda ODD that the lampshades still had a plastic around them?
Wear gloves if you're going to open draws, and touch things. Thank you for sharing
Round green thing in bedroom is a hair dryer!!
That is not a rifle, it’s a 410 gauge single shot shotgun
That medicine was a Breathing pill
