Hey, it's SkillsBeatMeta here. Thanks for featuring my replay SLM. It was a fun battle to play and quite interesting to look back at all the decisions I made during its course.
I was going crazy trying to decide between the Marceau and the Forrest Sherman. I picked the Marceau but I think I should also get the Sherman it looks like pure dakka fun

The less I worry about damage, the more I end up doing. Just play the objectives and the damage will come.
Very odd game. Red totally threw it away at the end, especially the Kitakaze and the CV.
I hate being a cruiser behind a Forest Sherman -- he usually doesn't spot for his team but wants me to spot for him, and if I move up to help him I'm likely to be abandoned by him as he runs behind me and away, leaving me with no retreat. At least that's happened a lot... :-(
one of the reason I had the DD and fail to find any fun there, it just do not play DD , its a CL with 3 very fast reloading guns , had no citadel, and dismal HP and need others to support her to be able to work , it just do not do the DD part well at all

The guns were autoloaders. The Thunderer did NOT miss the Forest Sherman, he hit him and reset his capture progress of A.

Super ships need to have their own tier.. some of these boats are simply ridiculous. If you want to play a super ship you should be going up against all other super ships
Some of them seem only slightly better than their T10 counterparts and some like you say are a nightmare to deal with on the enemy team especially if you're in a T9
I’d agree but then we’re getting into the realm of Cold War era battles. Which is probably the area of an actual WoWs2.
War Gamings stuff isn’t design for this kind of gameplay. Same reason as why we don’t see WoWs WoT and WoWp as one game. You can make the greed argument sure but at this scale it’s more profitable to have Every Player invested in not just WoWs which is where WThunder wins out even if it’s biting them in the ass Now
A quick fix to start with would be not putting tier 9 ships up against super shits.
8:42 The Jets on the Super CVs are WW2 era jets. Almost every design was ether built or testing during or shortly after WW2. The only really later jet is one on Egale, that being the English Electric Canberra, but that aircraft was in development in WW2, but was put on hold because the war ended.
Also Des Moines is newer than a lot of the jets everyone complains about. Hell the star of the show in this video is playing a ship from 1955. Tiger '59 it may shock you to hear was the configuration of that ship in... 1959.
Seems people only care about things not being "WW2 enough" when it comes to aircraft that very much did actually exist in WW2.
If something is ‘being tested’ ‘shortly after’ WW2, then it was not in WW2.

I ask, what is "WW2" about any of those ships? Why is it the Jets that for the most part at least saw test flights during the war or shortly after that are the issue and not the ships that weren't even laid down until the 1950s that are the issue?
Only jet ever made in WW2 was the ME262 german plane and that was right at the end of the war. Never used on an aircraft carrier either.

The game is all about being passive, leaving you brain in the toilet with cell. And if you can tell your head from your butt on so many occasions outcome will depend on those who can't.
"large ship"?? i could walk from one side to the other in 8 or 10 steps. it was like riding a surface submarine, literally like living in a sewer pipe. also they'd replaced the #2 turret with a LAMPS helo deck. ship class was a complete POS, couldn't hit the side of a barn. weegee is stretching it. (yeh i know, it was 50+ years ago).
Austin Sherman and san diego are the only us ships currently. As I don't count test ships.
its easy for the say, but for most casual players which mean the majority ( non unicum ) this statement ( the title ) just do not ring , cause not doing the damage dealing simply mean not even making it even , DD and CL main here, yes all the rushing the cap, ASW, AA, screening, scouting, area control and yeah all the TEAM work, but do the game actually recognize the effort and skill on display and not to speak of all the time needed and opportunity cost
to do the objective is certainly the one thing to do , but these days its about lack of team work that made so many refusing to do it .. and the lack of the game's mechanic to actually recognize the effort, skill and work put in towards the victory further discourage
How so many time keep seeing that fat BB who just camp at the back and farm being no.1 on the team when everyone had to die for the victory ( or the defeat ) .. when the farmers got all the reward, contribute the minimal ..
If memory serves Spotting damage now counts as much as shooting things so..... No need to get yourself killed to farm those last few credits.
it's fun sometimes doing a destroyer battle in tier 7+, end up with 15k damage and top MVP exp-wise. It's oddly satisfying.
The buff to spotting dam xp helps some

I laugh at the guys who rage and curse me out for not spotting something they thought was crucial. Ah yes the mysticism of Xp comes into play.
If you're strategic and have situational awareness, you can do BOTH, with nailing ships for maximum damage and not being so fixated to get kills so that your team can mop them up. Just depends on the circumstances and how good you are, as well as how good your teammates are and if you're paying attention to that also. Adaptability is key.
It's about contributing to win games. 50k damage against enemy DDs and actually killing their DD is way more valuable than 50k damage farming from BB. I once in a game with a cringe lord that deal 10k Damage to the DD that he does not even secure a kill, then torp and kill one BB, never go cap (because he afraid of being detect or something) unless someone in the team told him to. And then just run around the mid line torping enemy ships while leaving the BB do their own spotting. After the the match where team lose he get top exp because of the cap and the kill in first game then he told he "carry" the game and others people are bad at the game. I argue with him that having high EXP does not mean he help the team to win, it's just only benefit for him but this dude insisted that high exp means he is 'carry' the game. Sure bro deal 10k damage to dd, steal kill a BB and go for a cap is not 'carrying' for all the cringe lord with 56% win rate out there. My winrate is 46% but even I know he is not contributing anything.
Unironically using cringe makes any point you make invalid especially when coupled with the biblical length diatribe.
There is no such thing as steal kills in WoWs, and you said he torped that BB at the start of your wall of text.

@@quor2243 My point is he go up, torp and get one kill then immidietly go to the second line to farm damage, leaving big ship to spot for themself which mind you that the enemy still have a DD survived and he is doing more effective spotting than our DD
@@j_taylor Also he played a Houron and the DD he is supposed to kill is the Minsk which get outgunned by houron and have less health. The guys deal like 10k damage then run away like a jackass leaving a DD to spot for enemy team
I think Skills went for a bathroom break or something. Just set a safe course and left. No camera movement or course corrections until around 9 minute mark.

I find that a lot of snowballs happen because one or two people start bitching in chat rather than playing
No its not all about dmg, but the game dont really rewards in way that incentivises support roles. Teammates also have to be aware and that rarely happens.
So in order to have a decent average, people farm dmg. This is the most consistant way of getting the stuff you need - XP and money in a timely manner. No matter how useless or helpfull people are in youre team.
"XP and credits" come primarily from % of damage, winning, capping, and spotting ... not raw damage. That's not opinion; It's how model works.
@@rickwiggins283 well.....i know that - also never said it was raw damage. Capping was nerfed though, same for winning. The curve got flatter. And still people farm damage to have bigger averages. Cause winning or loosing depends on team, same for spot damage etc. even the cap is something you usually cant force.
Its statistical relevant and it works. You will have a better average. Cause its translates to wins more often than not as you win flanks faster. I can give you hundreds of reasons why people focus on damage rather than support outside of clan battles. Most people can, cause we see it everyday happening.
BTW - the game does not really educate new players about xp and credits in a way that is tangible.
I wonder why anytime I play any kind of DD when I get hit or received splash damage with HE I'll have a guaranteed fire and when extinguish it and next salvo just lights up another one. Not to mention it will broke a torpidoe tubes even though I have all the modules, captain skills and flags. And this shit happens to me every game! Even my guild mates are like WTF dude. Somehow this guy in this video just headbutted HE salvo right on and zero fires, zero modules incapacitated and had minimal dmg from a Thunderer. If this was me I can tell you from experience I'll be dead by the second hit. This game and it's so called mechanics and skilled players man... I've been playing this game since it's beta. They are protecting certain type of players. Anyone says that no they don't is living in a delusion. I remember shooting a broadside shimakaze with sap in my venezia and getting ricochets like it had autobounce angles. I have 12.5k random matches with 56.38% win rate. Tell me please how I don't know how to play!
Some people are RNG (Rigged Number Generator) blessed, while others like myself get un-lubed torps shoved up their stern.

The X is the ships tier in game. So tier 10 as a roman numeral
The "X" is the Tier....as in Tier 10

I have the Sherman its a nice ship but the torpedoes stink, i would rather have a Fletcher class set of torpedoes.
Sherman is a ship that DESERVES to get the torp turning gimmick.
@@ryanbrochu3336 it originally had homing torpedoes but WG squashed the idea due to the sub outrage going on at the time.
@@wramsey2656 homing torps like what subs have is too much, but rather the turning torps of the UK BattleCruisers and IJN light cruisers.
