Freediving with Blue Whales, Sri Lanka 2018

A good thing about whale safaris is that they are never the same. You can do a dozen safaris in a row or in different years and each of them will be a special and unique experience, it’s not like coming back to the same city every year. When we arrived to Trincomalee (Sri-Lanka) in the end of March this year - our 3rd visit to Trinco - we could not expect so many blue whales and such close underwater encounters with them. It was stunning!
And of course, we had a lot of fun freediving in the Indian ocean. On one of the days we were surrounded by blue whales during freediving session. The other day - a huge manta kept us company.
We are going to see whales two more times this year - in September in Azores and in November in Norway. Follow on Facebook!
