Another quality of life thing you might not know is you can type the room in the objects menu to only show the items needed for that room. So for instance if you type bakery it shows all the items for that. Really usefull.
For the gardening, use the prioritize area for the gardener under the deployment tab. It won't prevent him from gardening outside of your fenced area, but will make it his priority.
Or a kennel and staffroom and put the armory in a safer sector so you don't get the guns stolen by one prisoner deciding he can walk in and take them after getting kicked out of solitary
Don’t forget, if you’re building a room attached to an existing room, you need to drag foundation TO the existing wall and NOT ON the existing wall or the wall will be demolished and then you risk having a slight problem…. (Insert previous seasons many escapes flashback)
The sectors option on shakedowns make it so that you're able to do a shakedown in only one section of the prison at once. So if you click all sectors it'll search everything in the prison, but if you just do the shared sector, they won't search staff areas for example. There's also a tunnel search option now so your guards will search all toilets in the prison without making prisoners angry that they have been unnecessarily searched, but you can still check for tunnels.

man, why does the game encourage you to give the prisoners a drink machine (improving canteen grade) and then punish prisoners for wanting drinks outside of eating times? let my prisoners hydrate damn
Started playing Prison Architect again after your last video and forgot how much fun it is. I did find out that now when you Clone Indoor rooms, it also Clones the foundation. So you no longer have to build the foundation first then clone. Wish they would aslo add a clone utilities option.

I've got into the habit of putting parole in my prison before any intake. You get decent money from releasing prisoners through parole, plus then more money for prisoner intake. Parole is a great money maker!
Flabiliki's prisons always look more natural than mine. I TRY to make it look good, but it ends being a giant building stuffed with rows of cells with absolutely no separation between security levels.
you could also connect one of the solitaries to a security office using a secret door, snitches are placed in solitary and have a discreet way of meeting the security guard to tell on all his friends
James, there's a way to deploy as an "access only" area, so you don't need to use "staff only" for the corridors where you don't want prisoners wandering, just use the "access only"
It’s been a while since I played this game….. but I guess you can set up a OR…OR logic circuit with either the power switches or the power generators itself? So if one goes out the other automatically goes on. But I guess when they overload you still have to switch them on manually again

about their spirituality need, when i give the prisoners big cells like you did here, i usually just put a prayer mat in the cells, hope it helps!

The drink machine in the common room is a huge cause of contraband. They're allowed to have snacks but drinks are considered contraband.
Maybe he could move the metal detectors to the openings of the cell instead of just outside the common room then it wont be so much of an issue?

I love how the bakery is more important than adding new cells or even putting in additional seating in the canteen.
Just a little tip: James, you can place a drain, a shower, and a toilet on the same tile to save some space!
Setting the mourge to staff only prevents prisoners from going in there. It happened in my game and took a while for me to work out
Maybe build a temporary parole room to circulate prisoners and get money. It only needs a parole desk anyway.

You don't need double drains at the door. Drains will ALWAYS block water from passing through, no matter the 'quantity'
