I am dating myself. When All Ears was young, they had a reporter, The World according to Jack. He used to go into such detail and give incredible information. This video reminded me of his work.
I remember that you had to buy a ticket for Pleasure Island. Loved the adventure club, comedy club and country venue that we went to after diner at Bongos (because I liked the music of Gloria Estefan). Good memory of my first trip to Disney World.
This warmed my heart! Those gentlemen in the Christmas Store had me all tearing up and then I learn they did the same to Breedlove! I remember coming into the marketplace at that entrance and stopping on the other side to make tee shirts! That was such fun! I also remember my boyfriend winning me a gigantic stuffed pig playing boardwalk games on pleasure Island that I had to carry onto the plane! You would never get that pig as a carry on these days! Loved this blast from the past!
Another great Breedlove video. Keep ‘em coming! How amazing that so many of the cast members working that day happened to know so much about the history. This speaks such volumes about how they are trained and the passion and love they have for their beloved Disney. Walt would be proud.
Ok LOVE this because I used to come here as a small child. Every year there was a Christmas pageant and I used to want to be one of the angels. My mom made me a costume like them. I don’t know if they still do that but it was amazing.
I was just wondering what the original buildings were in the Marketplace. A lot more than I thought! I lost my friends on the rotating dance floor in Mannequins once so I can verify that little fact! The Cage was really fun for me because I was into alternative music at the time, but by then, PI was pretty much on the downslide. Never understood why they got rid of 8 Trax. Thanks for the video! Can't wait to go back to the Co Op and look for those artifacts! So many memories.
Ok cool video. This series is definitely a favorite. I didn’t start going to Disney until 1999 so I didn’t know that area was that old. Also I loved the architecture was still from the 70s. So fun!
I see Breedlove, I click. His genuine appreciation of history, personal anecdotes (including Uncle Graham's iconic Rick roll), and just overall unique point of view on life makes him such a refreshing host!!! This has been one of my favorite series on the channel, and I nearly died at the line about not having a map because it's so "...obscure." can't wait for more!
Breedlove, I WHOLE HEARTEDLY agree about the Adventurer's Club. I still miss this today, and can still sing the Adventurers Club Song. Kungaloosh, dude!
I remember the Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village. When I was at Osceola HS, I was in the chorus and over Christmas a couple of years, we would perform several times on the stage.
I’m lactose intolerant. I really enjoy a good plant based cheese especially if it’s paired well with a plant based meat. (Although I eat all meats.) - That cannonball sandwich looked so good, and the cheese looked actually cheesy and melty. You sold me I’ll have to try it.
The building that was Adventurer's Club was not demolished, but was renovated into The Edison. You can still see the original layout of the building since it had a circular balcony that looked down to the first floor. It's almost unrecognizable but you can see it if you were very familiar with the Adventurer's Club.
Thank you for this vlog. It brought back so many memories for me. I was at Lake Buena Vista as child with my family in 1978 on my 1st visit to Disney. You made me weepy. Thank you Breedlove.
Another fun history lesson from Breedlove. We started visiting Disney in 1990. The original bus stops for Disney Springs were behind the Christmas Shop/Earl of Sandwich area. It’s mind boggling to think about how absolutely tiny the area is/was in comparison to the new bus stop area.
Another absolute favorite! I’ve been loving all of these! I’ve been visiting WDW since 1980-81, so all of your past videos are making my heart so happy! I’m still pumped I got to run into you at MK in Feb!!! Keep these coming!
Once again….i am Fangirl’n over Breedlove! Thanks for the awesome trip down memory lane! But do you remember Chef Mickey’s being in the Village too? I DO! and I have a little red mug from my visit too! ❤ Thanks again for a wonderful montage of fun! 🧚
A lot of us guests don’t take the time to learn the history of Disney World including Disney Springs and we should take the time to learn the history because all of it is very fascinating
Breedlove, this was great!!! If you decide to do more of this, we would LOVE to see you talk about DisneyQuest - we have WONDERFUL memories of our kids there, and of US being kids!!! ❤
I have the most amazing memories from Pleasure Island during my CPs in the mid-2000’s. It was so special to be able to catch a comedy show and hop between music genre themed clubs in safe, Disney environment. I enjoyed many buckets from Beach Club and cups of Kungaloosh! We made a few music videos too! 😂 I was fortunate enough to be there on closing night. I will forever remember singing “Thnks fr th Mmrs” as we closed out Motion (the club). 😢 Thank you for making this video Breedlove! You brought me back. ❤
I really loved this video! I remember when I first visited in May 1996 when I was 12 and playing in the little plant pot fountains in the marketplace area, not long before World of Disney would have opened. We went back the following year and I remember being amazed at how huge World of Disney was! Lots of memories jogged with this video, thank you ❤
Thank you for this! So many wonderful memories of Pleasure Island and being young. About 20 of us went there for my 21st birthday and it was so much fun. Is church street station still going on? I'm going to investigate lol Again thank you so much for this video ❤
We used to go to Pleasure Island a lot, we even stayed on Hotel Plaza Blvd so it was easier to get to. My parents loved watching Frankie and the West End Boys over the years - we always saw the 1st/2nd show before it became adults only. Managed to go to Mannequins once before it closed
I never went to Disney Springs until it was Springs, but I was a conscious human in the 90s and these throwback references and names of things are giving me such nostalgia for the whole era 😂
I am super interested in this, and would love more of this type of content. Would it be possible to use a steadycam, or maybe a handheld gimbal? Got a little motion sickness watching and your audio was a little hard to pick up. But otherwise, very intriguing content. Loved it!
I’ve been enjoying these videos of going back and seeing what it looks like originally. I have tried looking around to see what the parks and Disney Springs, a.k.a. Downtown Disney looked like when I first went in 2004, but I haven’t had a whole lot of luck.
I love these videos showing the parks and now Disney Springs and what they looked like on their opening days, what is still there today, and what has changed.
Love this series, hope we get a video on Animal Kingdom as there is a lot of opening day stuff that may be going away pretty soon (Dinoland, It's Tough to be a Bug etc.)
I believe the Contemporary Resort has undergone changes/remodeling over the years, like the enormous game room that used to be where Steakhouse 71 is now. Also the Polynesian to a lesser extent. We stayed at the Poly in 1997. I remember the bathrooms had gorgeous green marble throughout. This would be a fun topic for Breedlove to explore and I would love to see old photos of the resorts.
That was maybe one of my most favorite and most interesting videos you've done! I have such fond memories of being at the Marketplace and Pleasure Island when I was a kid and teenager (I think I was about to turn 21 in 2002 the last time I went to Pleasure Island before it closed, but I have a vague memory of getting into Mannequins with a fake ID). I absolutely adored The Adventurer's Club, The Comedy Warehouse shows, and as a lover of disco and funk, 8Trax (which I think was what The Cage became after a couple of years?). I vividly remember the New Year's Eve parties with my family on our trips in 1993, 1996 and 1998, respectively (we only went to The Marketplace on our 1990 trip since we were so young). And I also LOVE how much you highlighted the cast members in this video. They are what always make every Disney trip so special, so that was really sweet to see. Excellent job!
Fun video. In the 90’s there was a boat that would take shoppers from one end of the marketplace to the other. Disneyquest. Unique McDonalds at marketplace in 90’s. Man snoring on bench at Lego store. Parking lots and not garages.
Great video but I was waiting for you to get to the Portobello Yacht Club. It was our favourite restaurant for several years (before it became Portobello). The Fireworks Factory was missing too. Maybe you meant not to do restaurants?
First time I went to WDW was 1997 for my honeymoon. I remember that we walked through that area and went in where you didn’t have to pay to see. Honestly, I’m surprised that some of those things haven’t been brought back. Like the videos, covers, audio recordings, etc., since the technology would be so much better and easier to do now.
Breedlove, will you do a video specifically on World of Disney? Find an early map of the store (it's on Google images) and compare the old layout and offerings to current day?
E has an octagonal sky light, if that wasn't original then why did they choose to put it back in? It was even shown on the map, are you sure it's not the same?
Breedlove is my favorite. He’s a wealth of knowledge and his enthusiastic presentation knows no bounds. I would love to run into him in the parks.
I am dating myself. When All Ears was young, they had a reporter, The World according to Jack. He used to go into such detail and give incredible information. This video reminded me of his work.
I remember the AllEars early days too. I loved Jack’s articles.
I have a brochure from 1986 for someplace called the Disney World Village…is that LBV shopping village re-named?
I remember that you had to buy a ticket for Pleasure Island. Loved the adventure club, comedy club and country venue that we went to after diner at Bongos (because I liked the music of Gloria Estefan). Good memory of my first trip to Disney World.
Absolutely LOVE Breedlove's depth of knowledge on everything Disney History. This series of paying tribute to what use to be has been incredible.
This warmed my heart! Those gentlemen in the Christmas Store had me all tearing up and then I learn they did the same to Breedlove! I remember coming into the marketplace at that entrance and stopping on the other side to make tee shirts! That was such fun! Breedlove is the best! His enthusiasm makes him a genuine joy to watch. What a fun video!

I love the time travel/ history with Breedlove! Definitely want more in this series
it was so amazing to meet Breedlove "in the wild" LOVE the video!
Ok cool video. This series is definitely a favorite. I didn’t start going to Disney until 1999 so I didn’t know that area was that old. Also I loved the architecture was still from the 70s. So fun!
Love these original map videos. There’s so much history. And as always I love Breedlove’s energy and enthusiasm for it all.
I see Breedlove, I click. His genuine appreciation of history, personal anecdotes (including Uncle Graham's iconic Rick roll), and just overall unique point of view on life makes him such a refreshing host!!! Breedlove, I WHOLE HEARTEDLY agree about the Adventurer's Club. I still miss this today, and can still sing the Adventurers Club Song. Kungaloosh, dude!
I loved this series! It’s so fun following Breedlove around learning the history of all the parks.
I remember the Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village. When I was at Osceola HS, I was in the chorus and over Christmas a couple of years, we would perform several times on the stage.

When I was going to Pleasure Island my favorite nite club was, The BET Soundstage 🎶🎼. Thanks Breedlove for the wonderful memories.😊💜
Another absolute favorite! I’ve been loving all of these! I’ve been visiting WDW since 1980-81, so all of your past videos are making my heart so happy! I’m still pumped I got to run into you at MK in Feb!!! Keep these coming!
Thanks for the walk down memory lane. Fond memories of Pleasure Island. I love how some teenage girls tried to buy our bands to get into PI.
I miss the Adventurers Club to this day. It was an improvisational blast to watch and interact.
Once again….i am Fangirl’n over Breedlove! Thanks for the awesome trip down memory lane! But do you remember Chef Mickey’s being in the Village too? I DO! and I have a little red mug from my visit too! ❤ Thanks again for a wonderful montage of fun! 🧚
Also….that original Chef Mickey’s overlooked the water!
I ate at that location! Then headed over to Mickey’s Pantry for a gourmet cupcake 😋 Then it was off to the Christmas shop to select some ornaments 😀
This just proves, once again, that cast members are the true treasures.
Great video, Breedlove! Gives me new respect for some of those buildings in Disney Springs for sure.
I just love these historical videos. Thank you Breedlove!
Breedlove, your my fav!! I'm such a DisNerd and love Disney history, this series is the best!!!
Love these videos! Breedlove doing these history walks is so cool. I always learn something new. Thanks for sharing!
i remember breedlove talking about filming this video on a podcast. i'm so glad it ended up coming out!
I remember when we went to Disney World in 1985, we ate at character breakfast with Mickey and friends at Empress Lily.
A lot of us guests don’t take the time to learn the history of Disney World including Disney Springs and we should take the time to learn the history because all of it is very fascinating

Good job Breedlove ~ Loved the video of my fave Disney Park!!
Thank you for this! So many wonderful memories of Pleasure Island and being young. About 20 of us went there for my 21st birthday and it was so much fun. Is church street station still going on? I'm going to investigate lol
Again thank you so much for this video ❤

Thanks for bringing these history/origin videos Breedlove. Your perspective really brings to life the culture of the parks!
Love hearing the excitement in Breedlove's voice throughout this video.
Breedlove, we forgot our water bottle in the hotel room on our Epcot day and all your free water locations saved our day! Thank you so much.
I never went to Disney Springs until it was Springs, but I was a conscious human in the 90s and these throwback references and names of things are giving me such nostalgia for the whole era 😂

Love this series, hope we get a video on Animal Kingdom as there is a lot of opening day stuff that may be going away pretty soon (Dinoland, It's Tough to be a Bug etc.)
Loved when Breedlove talked to the Cast Members and talked to them about history and how proud they were!

The Adventurers club was amazing, I miss it a lot
Yay! Another amazing video from Breedlove! Happy Sunday!
Fun video.
In the 90’s there was a boat that would take shoppers from one end of the marketplace to the other.
Disneyquest.
Unique McDonalds at marketplace in 90’s.
Man snoring on bench at Lego store.
Parking lots and not garages.
I watched the interview you did recently, and it was amazing!
I love learning history from Breedlove!
Loved it Breedlove. You're Awesome ❤
Yay another Breedlove video! Can’t wait to watch!
I loved Fat Tuesday’s! Wall of frozen drink machines in tons of flavors!!
I love you Breedlove!
Great video but I was waiting for you to get to the Portobello Yacht Club. It was our favourite restaurant for several years (before it became Portobello). The Fireworks Factory was missing too. Maybe you meant not to do restaurants?

Awesome video! The opening is hilarious 😆
These are my favorite!
i loved this video. more breedlove!
Breedlove videos are my fave!!!!
I love these videos. Can you continue the series showing different times? (MK in 1996, EC 2011, DD 1989, etc.)
I am booking a trip to Disney today. Thank you
wasn't lite bite where earl is, now?
i'm so old. riding golf carts from the villas to the village...
Disney needs to bring back places like disney quest!
Well it looks like I’ll be late for work today 😂I’m forty-five seconds in and SO EXCITED
the amount of money I would've paid to see Boris Pickett and Tiny Tim in concert at disneyworld is actually astounding
Made me teary
E has an octagonal sky light, if that wasn't original then why did they choose to put it back in? It was even shown on the map, are you sure it's not the same?
1989 was the first time I went to Disney ❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤
