Is the ease of handling different from speed trials? I just started watching these type of competitions and didn't know the distinction or categories yet.

Yes, the EOH and Speed Trial are two separate things.

There are 3 phrases
1. Dressage
2. Ease of Handling (Obstacles are judged)
3. Speed (Time only)
