I listened to Love Hypothesis on audio...2.5 stars. There is nothing memorable about the characters other than how they drink coffee. One of my favorite booktubers "loved" it (I no longer trust her), so I reread. DNFd, then changed rating to 1.

You are correct, I am not in that book. 🤣 Edit: I agree that we need to have a serious conversation about what counts as good romance. Our book club should get together and talk about it. I actually liked Ninth House, but your criticisms are valid: she never goes to class, everyone's up each other's ass about being ~at Yale~, and it didn't feel like Bardugo completed her thoughts on the myriad issues she brought up. But it was an interesting potboiler with magical elements. The other two, I agree with. I like Ayman's reviews, so when she was gung-ho about Love Hypothesis I rolled my eyes the whole time. Also Maas is Not Good. Can't we throw her in a garbage can with Cassie Claire? Also, the bit with taking off your glasses and them putting them back on again gave an me instant serotonin boost.
I mean, those secret societies made sure she didn't get booted out of there. Corrupt higher education but make it magical I like ninth house a lot tbh and some question will be answered in later books probably

She did ask him.. and as an answer he snorted, which she had mistaken as a yes and kissed him. Even adam acknowledges that it was assault and threatens to report her but of course he didn't cuz you know.. This a cringey romance book and they're the "main characters"

I think, after hearing your other video, that the people who left reviews for Love Hypothesis are in high school. No shade to them, but you would have to be pretty young to get that excited about it.
I bought the love hypothesis to see if it lives up to the hype or not, and yet I'm stuck after the first chapter because the writing is just so, fanfic, and not even good fanfic. It put me in a reading slump because I'm just absolutely dreaded reading this book.

These type of reviews are the reason why I don’t think that trashy books getting popular is harmless. They actively take away the platform and opportunities from actually good books. These books hardly have to try and they get Goodreads Choice Awards or whatnot, while great authors who put so much love and effort into their books get nothing. Read whatever you want, we all have our guilty pleasures. But when people go on to write reviews on books like The Love Hypothesis or ACOSF and act like it’s the greatest piece of literature, you’re not helping.
I haven't read any of these but I'm over here cackling lmao can't wait to read the Love Hypothesis so i know what side i fall on (but not in a rush to actually read it 💀)
