      Thanks very much Steve! I'm especially pleased with the wagons, although I'm finding it hard to resist the temptation of purchasing more! Cheers, Ian.

    Morning Ian, nice to see the pannier and some wooden coal wagons going around, and I'm the same with enjoying the colourful options! They're the kind of thing I would previously have added to my trunk at Hattons every-so-often, but which to me aren't worth the postage as single items, so I buy fewer now.

    • @iansngauge
      @iansngauge  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Morning Jonathan! Yeah, the little 57xx is still going strong, and looked great hauling the colourful little wagons didn't it? I miss the Hattons trunk for exactly the reason you state! Rails were having a sale (aren't they always?), and I had a discount code, so that offset the price of postage in this instance! All the best, Ian.

    Hi Ian, great set of wagons you have built up. They make up a very impressive rake behind the panniers.
    Looking forward to you finding some instructions so we can see the replacement/upgrade video.
    Keep up the great work
    Allan

      Thanks Allan! Yeah, I'm really pleased with how they look behind the little 57xx! I'll definitely be adding to the rake in the future! Someone has already found the instructions for me! Isn't it a great community? Not sure when I'll get around to fitting the WiFi module, but hopefully it won't be too long! All the best, Ian.

    I picked up four of the Mathieson wagons a while ago. I'd never heard of them either. The coats brothers one caught my eye because the C looked a bit like a G and I found goats brothers funny... They're quite nice little wagons.

    • @iansngauge
      @iansngauge  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Herbert! Yeah, they're pretty good little wagons considering they're quite cheap! Shame they don't have NEM pockets though! I'll definitely pick a few more up when / if they come back into stock! Goat brothers you say? Must have been great having a sibling when they were growing up as kids! :) Cheers, Ian.

    Hi Ian, a lovely rake of private owner wagons, it was funny actually I was seriously thinking about buying a Buggleskelly wagon a few weeks ago and now one has been purchased and of course being a big fan of Dad’s army I’d love a few of those wagons. I’ll over the next few years be buying plenty of private owner wagons as I really love them too.
    Good luck with the instructions Ian, I shall look forward to the video and the outcome, cheers for now mate, John

      Thanks John! Yes, I'm really pleased with the private owner wagons! So colourful! Ooh, good man, a Buggleskelly Ltd wagon will look great running around Exehaven! Of course, this is a great community, and I've already had two comments pointing me in the direction of a video, and a PDF file containing instructions of how to fit the WiFi module! Great stuff! It all looks rather involved so I'll have to do a bit of swotting up before I start the installation! All the best, Ian.

    Ooh, that Colmans Mustard Wagon looks hot 🤩 Buggleskelly has now added the Windmill in N gauge 😍 which just had to be ordered straight away 😇 so N Gauge seems to be a winner 🏆 for Tom 👍 and you get your Dads Army additions 🤞 Great new show idea 💡 Very best wishes from the Emerald Isle ☘️

      @iansngauge  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good morning Paul! I got an email about the windmill, but had to restrain! I'm sure I'll see it in Wickford at some point and become envious! Lol! Can't wait to get a couple of Dad's Army wagons, so hopefully the Buggleskelly wagon is flying off the shelves by now! Lol! All the best, Ian.

      Thanks Paul, I think you've bought most of them 😆. I can confirm the Buggleskelly wagons have gone well, so I'll be releasing more in N, but I'm not sure which wagons yet. Tom

      @@BuggleskellyStation - Hi Tom! Thanks for taking the time to comment! Hope the pictures did the wagon justice! I'm definitely voting for the Jack Jones and Walmington Gasworks wagons, but any new N gauge wagons will be a welcome addition! All the best, Ian.

    Hi Ian. I love your rake of private-owner coal wagons (although sorry to say, I'm not a fan of the coal loads). Courtesy of Stephen's heads-up, I bought three of the Buggleskelly wagons. The Dad's Army wagon(s) in N gauge could end up in my collection if they ever appear.

    • @iansngauge
      @iansngauge  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Paul! Thanks! Yeah, the coal loads look a bit artificial in closeup, but are much better when viewed at normal distance! The good news is that they can all be removed, so you can add whatever load you like! Tom from PhotograFix has confirmed that the Buggleskelly wagons have sold well, and that he's contacted Peco about a run of further N gauge wagons! All the best, Ian.

    The cutter will be very useful as the blue foam is far more dense than the greeny blue XPS which i had previously buying. The green stuff is a breeze to shape with a rough file whereas the blue tends to rip so the wire cutter is the solution.

    • @iansngauge
      @iansngauge  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Chris! Yes, the blue foam is very dense, so it makes a great baseboard! However, you're right, while it's very easy to cut into straight sections, shaping it isn't so easy as a knife tends to go in straight lines, and a file will tear it! I'm really rather pleased that Ryobi decided to produce the wire cutter, as it's not the usual type of tool that they make! All the best, Ian.

      @iansngauge  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would have definitely bought their soldering iron, but I'm happy with my ATTEN solder station! If I need to solder stuff at the layout though, it's definitely an option! I've got quite a few Ryobi tools, like drills, drivers, a jigsaw and even a vacuum cleaner! All good stuff! Ian

      Hi Ian, I enjoyed watching your video yet again and how you are finding out what works for you.
      Having been doing n gauge from the 1970s, one forgets how I puzzled out things like gradient.
      Keep up the great work you are doing.
      Ps Ruabon is pronounced Rooabon. It's on the Wrexham to Shrewsbury line in North Wales.

      @@johnholt7874 - Hi John! Thank you for your kind comment! I actually looked up how to pronounce Ruabon ( www.howtopronounce.com/welsh/ruabon ), as I knew it was a Welsh wagon, but it looks like I was given duff information! Oh well! Glad you're enjoying the videos! All the best, Ian.

    Some smashing new stuff there Ian, thanks for sharing - I for one would be interested in the prices of the things you are buying but understand if you would rather not say....... Chris

    • @iansngauge
      @iansngauge  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Chris! When I review stuff I always mention the price, but didn't even think of including it in this video! To be honest, with things like wagons, prices can vary hugely on a weekly basis! I was lucky with my wagon purchases though, as Rails had a wagon sale, and I had a discount code, so each wagon was less than £13, and a couple of them were under £10! All the best, Ian.

    Evening Ian. You've been splashing the cash 😅. Very colourful set of wagons you are amassing. Never heard of one of those manufacturers you featured. The wire cutter could be useful to me - so nice one Ian for showing it. Cheers Euan

    • @iansngauge
      @iansngauge  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Morning Euan! Haha! Yeah, I went on a bit of a spending spree this month, although the wagons were rather inexpensive, with each one of them costing less than £13 and some less than £10! Yeah, Mathieson was a new name to me, but their models seem quite good, and are keenly priced! I'll definitely be trying more of them! Can't wait to start using the wire cutter! :) All the best, Ian.

    You are a scholar and a gentleman for joining the 'Get a Jack Jones Wagon in N' campaign. I have come to really enjoy watching my rake of private owner wagons go around the layout. There is something very therapeutic hearing them trundle by. I am sure yours will grow in time. The battery foam cutter is a good idea. As you say having one that depends on a mains supply is very limiting. Stephen

      @iansngauge  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Haha! Thanks very much Stephen! Let's hope there are plenty more purchases of the Buggleskelly Ltd wagon! I'm going to try some more of the Mathieson wagons when they come back into stock!
