Although the one thing we can all agree upon is that us Sri Lankans are now more resilient and woken up more than we were ever before. We are finally less dependent on the Govt and politicians. Not all skillful youths have left the country yet. We will stay and fight till we bounce back!

Ranveer's and Milinda's comments on the shared culture of Indians and Sri Lankans is very true. In 2018, I went for a Master degree in the United States. In the new semester, a group of Nepali students invited me to a Potluck. In this small gathering, there was one other student, 3 years younger to me, from New Delhi. We both clicked instantly and every week he used to take me to Wisconsin to eat Indian food. We were on the Minnesota and Wisconsin border, and we go to this restaurent often. The funny thing is the restaurent, although it is Indian, was run by a fellow Sri Lankan. Both of us were each other's go to person. Although we are from thousands of miles apart, we never felt we are from different countries. He introduced me to lot of North Indian content, and I introduced him to both South Indian and Sri Lankan content.

    Brilliant interview! 👏
I'm a British-born Sri Lankan who has spent most of my life trying to understand the country's situation as a European. Particular the economic situation in recent years. This podcast has given me more information than 4 months in the country this year, speaking to locals and watching local media. Until now it's felt impossible to get a high-view perspective which is free from feverish political rhetoric.
I commend you on the content plus the interviewing style, asking potentially tricky and emotive questions in a non-threatening way and explorative way. We could learn a lot from this here in London!
Again, brilliant stuff! You've got another subscriber!

We couldn't communicate directly, but our chauffer-guide was very helpful. He introduced us around. This was a novelty since we have found that people get attracted to white skinned people. But in Sri Lanka we were given better treatment than the whites by the locals. The locals went out of the way to help us out.

60% of Kerala people are from Sri Lanka as a result of the great Parakramanahu, the conquer’s decision to protect the Chera and Pandya kingdoms from the Chola invasions. So more than 100k Sinhalese army including their families were stationed in Kerala (Chera) and Tamil Nadu (Pandya) as a security guarantee for Tamil Kings.
