    I accidentally removed a small bit of me saying "Thanks for watching, Bye!" at the end of the video, so I'll do that here, Thanks for watching :) If you want to ask any questions or discuss something feel free to comment and I'll try and answer as fast as I can.

    Thanks a lot. You just helped clarify how to make proper use of color theory.
    The sad bit is just that I have to change the hue and saturation of my assets all over again.
    But it'll be worth it. :)

    One of the best (if not the best) channel for beginner of 2d art. Hope there will be video about drawing building in the future.

      Thanks :) I am definitely doing one on buildings, hopefully quite soon (going to try and make one within a month, but depends a bit on how difficult it will be to cover)!

    5:33 this 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘧𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 is an issue with HSV color pickers because the RGB color space they're based off is 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 distorted.
    this is not an issue with OKLCH color pickers because they are true to how humans see colors.
    so if i pick 2 highly saturated colors in OKLCH, they 𝘢𝘳𝘦 the same lightness - as long as they are not outside of the visible range, because invisible colors have to be clamped to the nearest visible color, which messes them up.

    love your content, you should do videos more often!

      Thanks :) Ye, I'm planning to make videos more often, I am trying to figure out how to streamline the process a bit more, so that editing doesn't eat so much time. At least once a week is my goal so hopefully I can achieve that soon :)

      @@Nonsensical2D Honestly, what you're sharing is so helpful and easy to follow, I think most of us would be ok with less polished and edited video's

      It's tricky when navigating and learning this whole editing 'aspect'. I wouldn't say my slow process is really about polish, but rather taking very arduous and annoying turns in the creation of a video. I'm slow because I stumble my way to a finished video, not because I'm pedantic. But it is getting better and hopefully I can reach something like one video a week soon enough!

    Very good simplification of color. let me be honest, I can tell your progress from the first video to this one.

    Hmm... I found your channel today and your videos have been great! But this one had me constantly thinking "no, thats wrong!" or "yeah, people should do that, but your reason is wrong".

      It's possible I made some mistakes, it was a while since I made it, but I can't really recall anything I've changed my mind on, could you say specifically what I said that was wrong, so that I could potentially pin a correction?

    Why is green a hard colour to work with?

    • @Nonsensical2D
      @Nonsensical2D  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks :) I like your videos too, but it was 5 months since you last uploaded :( In regards to green, I think I first read about it in "Colour & light" by james gurney. If I recall correctly he even brings up some statistic about how paintings containing green are generally sold for less than ones that don't. So in part i think green as a colour isn't particularly liked in colour schemes or paintings (try and take notice how often you see true green in paintings/ads/movies, it isn't that common compared to a lot of other colours).
      But from my own perspective I do think that there is a range of green that is difficult to pair with other colours. You have a whole host of warm colours that complement each other very well in the red/orange/yellow range. Then you have a whole host of colder colours that work together well in the cold range turqoise/blue/purple. But green easily becomes an odd one out in my opinion, so you almost always want to push the green towards yellow or teal to make it work with the other colours you have.
      So it is in part personal opinion, but I think if you look at most media, take notice how often you see green compared to how common of a colour it should be, you can even look at thumbnails.

      @@Nonsensical2D yeah I'm trying to stay away from social media and TH-cam because they are very time consuming.
      Thanks for the explanation! :)

    Why did you add a light edge to your rocks before the shadows begin? Those rocks aren't supposed to be smooth.

    • @Nonsensical2D
      @Nonsensical2D  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Which rocks are you referring to? Can't quite see where you mean. It is totally possible I've made a mistake
