    Isn't the neck strap uncomfortably thick?

      +Stefan Braun i wouldn't say so. the strap has a large surface shure, but it is quite comfortable to me.

      Kind of answered that already in the comments :P
      It was a outlet shop that happen to have some leather.

    You can get a leather welders apron at Harbor Freight for less than $20.
    Been using one for 5 years now. I did replace the neck strap after a few years. Used a simple leather belt kit from Micheals Craft Store.
    Buying a nice piece of leather will set you back maybe $100, plus your time.

      Well ye... you could do that but a project like this is to me more about making something yourself regardless if its more expensive the a standard product. the time and work I put into something like this is only fun.

      I imagine it’s made of vinyl or fake (PU) leather. That’s a whole lot of leather for $20...

    Hey man where did you get the leather?

    • @Eivindgutt
      @Eivindgutt  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nigganade95 I bought it from a warehouse shop (a shop that purchases large bulks of items and sell them cheap) i was lucky to find they had a good amount of leather

    you know that other peace off to the side was a hole punch

      I`m not completely sure what you are talking about, but I'm gonna guess you're referring to the metal clamp I used for the eyelids. it couldn't punch a hole through the leather so i had to resort to the knife.

      Richard Clamping eyelids sounds very painful.

    All that effort and then you just tie the straps in a big, ugly not? Use some buckles or something, man!

    • @Eivindgutt

      Ye the straps on the back was a placeholder solution. I will most likely make a proper mechanism at some point thou.

      Good to hear :)
      May I ask what thickness / type of leather you used?

    • @Eivindgutt
      @Eivindgutt  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well the thickness is no more than 2 mm.
      The leather is in the middle of being stiff and soft.
      I don't know if that's answers your question but my knowledge of leather types are limited.
