You can get a leather welders apron at Harbor Freight for less than $20. Been using one for 5 years now. I did replace the neck strap after a few years. Used a simple leather belt kit from Micheals Craft Store. Buying a nice piece of leather will set you back maybe $100, plus your time.
Well ye... you could do that but a project like this is to me more about making something yourself regardless if its more expensive the a standard product. the time and work I put into something like this is only fun.
Nigganade95 I bought it from a warehouse shop (a shop that purchases large bulks of items and sell them cheap) i was lucky to find they had a good amount of leather
I`m not completely sure what you are talking about, but I'm gonna guess you're referring to the metal clamp I used for the eyelids. it couldn't punch a hole through the leather so i had to resort to the knife.
Well the thickness is no more than 2 mm. The leather is in the middle of being stiff and soft. I don't know if that's answers your question but my knowledge of leather types are limited.
Simplest way of making one, I like it nothing complicated . I’m going to have to make one , nice work . 🍻.
Very nice, thanks.
Thank you for sharing. ..I got some ideas for an apron I'm making for my friends husband.
Loved the accompanying music.
dpatco Always nice to hear someone enjoyed my video :)
Fin lille video - man kan se stoltheden i dit ansigt til sidst - thumbs up for at lave tingene selv!
NICE !.............like the music ..gives it a keystone cop feel ....lol
Isn't the neck strap uncomfortably thick?
+Stefan Braun i wouldn't say so. the strap has a large surface shure, but it is quite comfortable to me.
+Richard Oh ok, nice job anyway!
where did you purchase the leather? Thank you
Kind of answered that already in the comments :P
It was a outlet shop that happen to have some leather.

I imagine it’s made of vinyl or fake (PU) leather. That’s a whole lot of leather for $20...
Hey man where did you get the leather?

you know that other peace off to the side was a hole punch

Richard Clamping eyelids sounds very painful.
All that effort and then you just tie the straps in a big, ugly not? Use some buckles or something, man!
Ye the straps on the back was a placeholder solution. I will most likely make a proper mechanism at some point thou.
Good to hear :)
May I ask what thickness / type of leather you used?
Well the thickness is no more than 2 mm.
