- The ‘56 Crestliner Viking gets a new Honda motor. We’ll be enjoying this runabout on the lake while making other improvements as we go…First things first, let’s get that motor!
Nice motor the only thing is for the same weight you could put a 40hp OMC on it. Smooth and quite too especially the 89'-up. I'd be interested to see what you think of the vibration from the Honda at idle. The 2 cyls go in the same direction, and in a tiller motor will turn your hand cherry red on an aluminum. the 3 cylinder tohatsu 25hp IS glass smooth, but thats neither here nor there. Cheers looks nice. Big fuel savings and a bit more power, too with this one.
I’ll definitely do a follow up…thank you for the info and for tuning in!
It's a '59, for what it's worth.
Awesome. I’d love to know the attributes that make it so…it was what I was told, and I really don’t know anything about these cool boats other than I love the look…🙏🏻
@@drmstudio5050 several first year for '59 pieces here...
The bow piece, the red-lettered bird logo, the dash plaque, and the short splash rail with the angled front cut.
The Viking was indeed introduced in '56, but as a cockpit boat.
You should be able to find the model/ serial number on the outside starboard panel, up near the gunnel, right about where the deck and dash join together.
Most likely will start with a "711" (speedster model number) followed by the production serial number.
@@MarkDean1313 Thank you! I’ll check those areas out. Your info is so appreciated!
