You seem to be the only person who figured out how to fix that roof. I just followed your instructions last night and got all those holes plugged. I tried adding walls & a roof to what you did, but it wouldn't snap into place. Sometimes builds in this game are so frustrating. Thank you for figuring it out and posting this!
sorry to be so offtopic but does anyone know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I was dumb forgot my login password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
Kevin, this tutorial is awesome and so very helpful! Since I will be building here soon, you can't imagine how much appreciated this is! Thank you so much for sharing and figuring out a way to fix that darn roof! lol :) Keep up the great work!
thank you Denise =) I love to fix houses in this game it makes sense to use the pre-existing structure when they are usable. this holes over the kids bed were too much to handle for me ^^ I'm curious what you'll make on this settlement, I'm looking forward to see it =)
Thank you for sharing your attempt. It looks good. Unfortunately, rain goes right through the floors in the game. You need non-glass, roofs or upper floors to stop the rain.
Kevin, you are a magician! Thanks for spending the time figuring it out. If there is anyone who could do it, I immediately knew you would be the one. Do the big floor pieces have to be specific ones, like the 2 smaller ones had to be? The small part that sticks out the back, can you put turrests on it? That would be a great place for them, need all the defenses you can get. What a great job. I am going to sing it to the world, and link it in a video. Great job my friend.
thank you, it was my pleasure to find it ^^ as you know I love to fix broken houses like this (the only one I haven't find a way yet is taffington boathouse I think, the one with the rotten dead brahmin outside) For the big part you can use whatever floor you want (notice that I have only tried with wooden ones) but when it come to textures I prefer this floor over the other ones ^^ I don't know if a turret will fit in there but it's worth the try =) Thank you I appreciate your support and thanks for the link in one of your future video (there's one of your channel in the description I know I forgot to talk about in the video) You can't imagine the nightmare it was to find a way to fiw the small room, it's primordial that you do the concrete part first otherwise the other floors won't let you glitch close enough and you will have a little gap from outside. I had to record this part at least 4 times because it worked perfectly then I start recording and it doesn't want to work anymore ^^
Thanks Kevin. I haven't built here yet but when I do your video will probably save me some frustration. Some thoughts I had while watching..... 4:05 when you were trying to place the two concrete pillars close together they kept snapping to each other. You could probably use one of the posts from Far Harbor because they shouldn't snap to the concrete pillar. Most likely you would need to use the short ones since the ceiling is low. With a higher ceiling the taller ones or even the bloody Super Mutant totems would be an option too. Another thought I had was placing a garden plot down on the floor. It probably won't let you sink the pillar any deeper but it should let you lift it a few inches. Being able to lift it a few inches might make it easier to get the height precisely correct.
The Insane Shecklador your tought are really good ones :-) never thought of using the garden plot as an elevation item it can be helpfull in that type of scenario ! I've realised that I could have use the barn post but while I was editing the video but like you said the frustration is great in that place and my animals were fighting at the same time (the rabbit won over the cat XD) so I had to record some parts 2 or 3 times and so can't think efficiently ^^ glad it was usefull :-)
No matter how hard I try with the rug I can't get the square floor piece to place the way you do to get all three in a row. It keeps jumping as I get close to the lip across the gap or moving too far to the left which you must do to get everything to align.. So after an hour of trying I gave up. Using same rug as you I think. Also, how the heck did you get the pillar up high enough? If you try and lift it up goes red. I tried stack one on top of the other then removing the bottom pillar but then it is too high. So until I figure it out I can't fix the bedroom side. I did manage to fix the front room using your method. Thanks.
You asked about what kinda books I have written before. Well I write children books. The first two are Young Adult, 1st was Returned to Darkness . Its about all the Nursery Songs & Rhymes that all of our Parents have told us when we were growing up & the meaning for them. For example " Ring a Round the Rosie". Its the way we use to bury the dead. A ring of rose's was the reef, the pockets full of Posey's was the way to get rid of the smell of death, Ashes was when we burned them but at this part of time they also placed two coins on there eyes so they can pay the ferry man. We all fall down means. We will all die in the end. Now I know this dosen't sound like a children book but you have to remember this was for Young adults & not for kids. My Publisher was through Redman out in Utah. I am currently working on the book called The Day-to-day life of Maxwell Vondoogen. This will be kid friendly for all kids
yeah Phoenix mentionned it on her 90 subs video dedicated to you (she did a really great job ^^) Thats interesting! I would have been curious to read that but I'm not sure to find it in France and we don't have the same child songs here (they are very inapropriate too talking about rape and death) I knew this one thanks to I don't know wich horror movie but that's the kind of topics I like =) feel free to make you comm over here and if you want me to talk about it I can too
I would love to even see France. I have never left the USA. Idk if you know that children book writers dont make much money. It would be rather fun to see, and hear all the amazing stories that France has. I have some stories my Grand ma told me in the book when she lived in Norway. But I would rather love to travel, learn the stories of the world. History is vary important thing for us all. It reminds us where we came from. How it is okay to talk to solve problems out. Who started Wars, why they started in the first place. When I hear a story I try to figure out the meaning of it.
France is a really nice place to visit (and not only Paris I hate this city it's full of hatefull people) I live in a place I'm sure you'll love it's called Roc Amadour =) (google it it's awesome) I have never left France neither only one time to go on a school trip in London unfortunately I was way too young to enjoy it correctly I imagine you don't make so much money by writting child books but it's an interesting job I think =) There's so much we can learn by studying stories from other cultures and history too I watch some french youtubers who talk about history in a fun way (because learning that in school isn't interesting at all for me) and it makes me realise so much things in our present world. I imagine figuring out some stories is not that easy too ^^
You can do what Norespaws does by figure out how big it is first with the large warehouse pieces of wood . Make a copy of it somewhere else & build one wall then put on the floors to match the building . Then use the glitch all command and move it into place. When you do this and you did it right your roof will glitch through the old roof. You should check out what Norespaws did he has helped me out a lot in Sanctuary
This places is a bit special and extra difficult. I think Kevin found the only way to accomplish it, unless I am wrong and the method Davey shows does in fact work here. I don't think it has in any of other similar houses though.
I've tried this earlier and it didn't work in somerville, this place is one of the most complicated to fix even if it didn't seem so ^^ the collisions here are unpredictable some time you can glitch everything in place first try sometime there's this one pixel that don't allow you to do it
To be honest when I written this I only heard him say he was having trouble building here. Then when I saw the rest of it. I made the second comment. I will in the future make sure I watch the hole thing before I leave the next comment. Sorry for confusing you.
To be frank though, in a civilization that is not destroyed....such as in our reality and in this games world that existed before 2077, they would not even make an attempt to repair most of the broken houses we see such as this one, but they would bulldoze houses in abysmal condition and build a new one from scratch. I am kind of annoyed the devs did not leave us that option.
What a friggin PAIN IN THE ASS! But it is worth it because I heard beds exposed to elements contribute to settlers discontent/unhappiness. Besides, once you develop this enough, you will have a base whenever you need to conduct any business related to Glowing Sea or other nearby places in this godforsaken hinterland. By the way, how do you drag the concrete pole WITH the floor?
Monotone as all get out. Made it really tough to want to sit through this clip. But, my interest in settlement builds outweighed the lack-luster vocal tone on th narrator.
you're welcome =) yes this place is a nightmare to fix when you don't know how the house is divided into 4 parts (2 for the floors and 2 for the roof) so you have to use 4 different techniques to fix it ^^ but it's not the worst I'm afraid of taffington boathouse wich I plan to fix someday (when I'll be clever enough and not tired ^^) btw I'm uploading my next video right now

My videos are still helping people!!!! That makes me so happy. If your walls don't snap try using the pillar glitch to force it in place
Thats a great idea indeed. You can use a "shack upper floor" inside the house to easily find the exact height to place the new roof.
that's true :) thank you for watching
sorry to be so offtopic but does anyone know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account?

@Jabari Rhys Instablaster =)
Hats off to your patience.

I have learnt a lot since then I might give it another try later

@@KevinAlibert I imagine you have. I'd love to see your new videos. In fact, I'll subscribe and see what you have. Thanks for the response.

I particularly loved this place, and later I will make my own block over the house
Thanks Kevin. I haven't built here yet but when I do your video will probably save me some frustration.

oh and build this settlement when you're on a very good mood it's rainy and dark all the time ^^

Wow ! okay that works great as well. Great idea
thanks you it tooks hours to figure the best way to do it ^^

What if the pillar is placed on a fire?
I can't place anything on the floor. It sinks down
0:35 what is that mod?
nope it's a firework shell there is 3 you can craft that will change the weather for you :P it comes with contraption workshop the DLC
Hello fellow internet traveler,
I tried for a couple of hours to position the roof right. I quit. I'm going to use Scrap Everything and build them a concrete bunker to live in.

Sorry Kjell, I didn't mean to make it seem as if I was scolding, just stating facts. Kevin is right, you were just trying to be helpful. :)

Hey Kevin thanks for the sub! This place is such a bitch!

Place everywhere mods will set your soul free of this fuckery snapping nightmare forever ....
the whole point of making this vidéo is to avoid using any mods. this is all vanilla
Kevin Alibert I just dont have the patience to do it that way. Its like watching my old suffering days.
