That's awesome!! im just starting out in boxing myself. i only did a light spar, so i still haven't even done a true spar yet. i see it's been 10 months since you posted this comment, how have you been progressed 10 months later? hope all is going well
Sometimes there's a freedom with getting a bad performance out of the way that definitely shows you it's survivable with survivable which definitely gives you the confidence to continue 💯💯 #nodaysoff🥊📈💪🏼
The best way is to have someone with years of experience that can be composed enough to work with the new person without feeling the urge to take the beginners head off.
My first sparring session was me and this other lad and we had never sparred before. His head guard was way to big and he kept dropping his hand so I got him in the corner and fainted a jab to his body, he dropped his hands and I hit him with a big right and it spun his head guard around so I stopped punching him. My coach started shouting at me that I shouldn't stop throwing till he told me to and then told us to carry on, I had him hurt really badly so I stopped punching and my coach started telling me off again so I left the gym shortly after cos I don't believe u should be sparring to knock each other out especially in your first spar
Very informative proper sparring etiquette is knowing when to let your man recover, in a fight you are supposed to finish them. Sounds like coach was a little too excited. Sparring needs to be beneficial for both sides
0:22 thank gosh. that advice really helped brother I stepped into my gym thinking I'm going to get beat up on the first day. I was told it's normal anyway atleast i know I'm in the right place and definately wont change now. Thanks for these videos watch them all respect from the UK
Amen Coach Sir……run like you stole something. First club…….I got lit up like a Christmas Tree. While it was going on, I wanted to ankle pick and ground and pound and I wouldn’t have made it out of the gym if I’d done that. New Club……..working out just like YOU DO…..LOVE IT! Great post again Sir. All the best & stay safe….you and your loved ones. PEACE
Thanks coach. Im a self trained boxer and im 33. Probably too old to go pro but thank you for all the info. Truly the best info you can possibly give to someone
Great video Coach V. Can you do a video discussing road work? How much roadwork do you recommend? Also, how do you feel about fighters that don’t implement roadwork into their training regimen?
Will do brother Ill put something together, the way I see it most people who do not do that not surprisingly are the ones that don't finish the fight strong and fade in the end, just my observation!
How’s it going champ in the beginning you’ll be learning so much it will be less about the fitness and more about the technique the more the better I’d say 3-5 times per week an hour is good if you can do a little more that’s even better
Not trying to be a bother but it's 5 days a week 1 hour sessions consisting of 15 mins stance 15 mins foot work 15 mins punch technique (no gloves just wraps and shoes) 15 mins defense (blocking only) and head movement. He told me no gloves until learn how to move (90 days) .Sound about right to you? (Honest critique).. Thanks and God bless
What if i work construction stucco so its like am doing weights for 8 hours a day should i still go to the gym and box for 5-6 days a week or do i need to rest more?
Hey coach this is completely off topic, but do ear splints help to prevent cauliflower ear after sparring/fighting? I'm trying to take the healthiest approach I can on this journey.
Go question him not too sure about that 1 brother it sounds more like a medica professionals area of expertise. Nowadays I see cauliflower ear more in grapplers
@@coachv3436 i hear you coach, thank you for taking the time to respond. I was also thinking it would be dope if you could do a video on what to do the day of the fight: like what you should eat, how you should warmup, and how to keep your emotions centered
Hey coach V. I sparred for the first time last year after 3 months of training and I did really good but the guy I sparred was really mad about losing to me. I haven't sparred in a year and I'm really nervous about sparring again. Do you have any advice?
Sounds like they give you adequate amount of time to prepare which is great never worry about hurting someone's feelings in the ring we all know what we signed up for. After the sparring session I like to have my guys trade notes and encourage each other though!
I need to stop watching your videos you making me think about boxing professionally knowing I don’t got no money to pay for a trainer. Can you have a trainer that trains for free
@@AndyBoy1st exactly bro! Boxing is slowly becoming a rich mans sport sadly. what happened to seeing a boxer for his potential and investing your time into bettering him?
I just sparred yesterday and all I could say is I never thought I would gain confidence after getting beat up.

You sound super insightful on the sport. You should think about doing tutorial videos for the most basic moves or drills in boxing.

Coach V is the reason I’ve decided to take the leap and start boxing. Love how he always keeps it 💯 and realistic
