Great first (sort of) adventure. Tip Carry some cotton wool soaked in Vaseline it is perfect to get your fire started. you could even use a Ladies' towel I'm sure you know what I mean, and there are plenty of other ways too, check YT for fire starting when cramping. Hope your finger does not land on a Haunted Castle lol

Hi Eleanor For fire pits I keep a few things in the Landy. 1. Bic lighters with duct tape wrapped around them, the duct tape makes a good fire starter and is used in the military for such also. You can also wrap some around pens, pencils etc. 2. Fire starter blocks, you can pick these up at camping shops, go outdoors or order line. 3. Kiln dried kindling and wood - when camping. But it does take up a fair bit of room in the car, I plan to pick up a roof box at some point for this. 4. Cardboard tubes from loo roll as you can fold them lengthways in half and place them inside other loo roil tubes to make for a compact fire starter that you can keep dry. 5. Emergency fire starter flint and steel, these stay in the Landy and in EDC kits also. Rick

Hey Emma I normally stealth camp in Cornwall in car parks/lay-bys off the road or use the same sites over and over. Jamaica Inn is my favourite place to camp and it’s close to a lot of things. There’s still a lot of sites I want to try down there. Hope you have a lovely time when you go with your partner 😊

@@pixiewheels-emmamorriswhee4527 use pitchup.com and find campsites in Cornwall. You can book through there too and it’s so handy as comes with reviews. Look for ‘parking next to pitch’ or ‘campervan pitch’ (most places have been fine with a car camper) that’ll be listed on the sites page if you’re staying in the car and also find a site that advertises having hot showers. If the site I use doesn’t come with showers I normally wash behind my car with bottled water somewhere private. Although I tend to only book places with showers now as it’s easier and I don’t have a gym pass. It’s so much more convenient using places with on site facilities and toilets too. Otherwise if they don’t then I have stuff for that in the car which isn’t the most comfortable but it does the job haha. Depending on how long you go for I’d consider investing in something comfortable to sleep on. The car can be a bit sore on your back after a few nights as limited room to stretch out. Anything else you wanna know just ask 😊

Nice to see you got a video done between rain spells. Did you pack the tent with you? Can you not edit a video without needing wifi and just upload in range? I subscribe to a ton of free music and use a program to download then after they are uploaded on TH-cam. Mind you, I don’t appear in any of my videos and I don’t talk. Some of my local travel videos I use an odd bit of dashcam but half the time I am swearing my arse off so safer using music. So it’s been sitting at 27 all week and they are telling us it’s going to rain for five days, the only thing is, for each of those days they are not expecting more than 1 mm of rain for four of those days, and on the fifth day, between one and 4 mm. The lowest maximum is expected to be 21° and winter is almost here. Our winter starts on 1 June, we don’t use that solstice stuff. We actually do need the rain because we have had water restrictions for the gardens for about the last 30 years. We have all this water in the north of the state that goes to waste because no politician here has enough guts to get a 4000 km pipe line built. So instead, they desalinate saltwater for us to drink, and now, I may have told you this already, but they treat our sewage and put it back into the underground water supply for us to drink in 50 years. So great, in 50 years time, we are really going to be on the piss. As always, safe travels and enjoy being out of your comfort zone. Cheers from beautiful Perth Western Australia.

In terms of parking up somewhere with no time limit, ever thought of a pub car park? Go into a pub, use their Wi-Fi, get a glass of water or something.
